Spotify Premium - 12 Months for The Price of 10 - $119

230

Spotify emailed me this, another Christmas present I’m giving myself…
Get a year of Premium for just $119.00
Save on your year-long Premium subscription with a one-time payment of $119.00. That's 12 months for the price of 10.
Not as cheap as the deal out of the Philippines, but no need for a VPN so can use on any device.

  • +2

wow that's a lot of money to spend

  • +5

    cough

    $36 vs $119…

  • LOL

  • May as well get Apple Music if you're going to pay close to full price for Spotify.

  • +1

    Is this a kinda dupe?

    • +1

      no?

    • if you think its a dupe, link the dupe below :)

  • Can't you just sign up for the 3 months for .99 cents deal four times a year?

    • +2

Not unless it's offered exactly at the time you need to renew.

  • Only $60/year for students as is…

Harsh comments in this thread. If you want Australian Spotify premium and don't want to stuff around with creating new accounts, using VPNs and using other loopholes to buy via foreign locations then this is a great deal.

I pay "full price" month to month for Spotify anyway (and think it is good value at that price), so welcome the 17% or so unexpected discount.

    • +4

Thanks FriendlyPhillip, my thoughts exactly. I would have been paying full price otherwise. And I can’t even spell VPN.

What's this? A positive comment in a deal on OzBargain?

      • A family plan, even an Australian subscribed one, is vastly cheaper than paying the regular premium price - you'd have to be very lazy or a fool to not find 5 other people who use Spotify and can benefit from pooling.

        • This is the type of negativity I was referring to with my sarcastic comment above.

Who cares if it's not the cheapest you can get it? Not everyone has the time nor patience to fluff about with VPNs or trying to find other people on the internet to sign up for a family account.

        • @Lorindor:

"Who cares if it's not the cheapest?"

Uh, how about every user of this website, excluding yourself? Claiming you don't have the time or patience to "fluff about" = too lazy and/or too stupid to get it done. Considering this is a website dedicated to bargains, I find your stance quite at odds with the the general ethos of the community.

Speak for yourself mate, I love a good deal more than anyone, and I personally would go the extra mile to save a buck, but to expect everyone to be capable of obtaining every deal posted on this site is just unrealistic.

I'm sick of this whole attitude that just because it's been cheaper by a few bucks in that past, it's not a deal, or it doesn't come with this extra thing I want, therefore it's not a deal.

Lose the entitlement before it consumes you buddy.

        • @Lorindor:

You're misconstruing what's been told to you, and what is patently obvious: it's very easy to get Spotify at a significantly cheaper rate, simply by finding 5 other people to join a family plan. For any well adjusted, semi sociable person this should not present a challenge, especially given that you only need to read or post in the Classifieds section to find a group.

If you're sick of the so-called attitude, maybe it's time to find somewhere else to hang out online that's more suited to your obviously tender sensitivities. The only thing I'm consumed by is absolute contempt for whingers and whiners who bitch about inane things like "attitude" and "entitlement". Jog on.

I think it's quite the contrary, just because you find something obvious, or so clear-cut, doesn't make it so.

You are so deeply entitled it's actually shocking, you think that everyone should be like you or should think the same way you do - there was once a guy named Hitler that was very similar.

Is this the first time someone has challenged your opinion?

          https://www.spotify.com/au/family/

Spotify family, $17.99/month for 6 people on the Aussie site. No VPN, no other rubbish.

Find 5 other people willing to pay $36/year - easily done in the Classifieds section

          Simples

        • @Spackbace:

Find 5 other people willing to pay $36/year - easily done in the Classifieds section

/Facepalm, you just said the exact same thing.

Guaranteed there would be at least one person in your family that wouldn't find that simple.

        • @Lorindor:

Yep, but they'd be the people that would think $119 for a year of Spotify was ludicrous… But would think $36 is acceptable.

  • Do artists get paid more when I have an AU account vs a Philippines account?

    • +1

      They get paid in pesos…

      • Ok, so are the pesos equilevent to the AU dollar they get paid?

    • Yeah because minimum pay rate in Australia is higher than in Phillipines 😂

    • No.

Also there really are better ways of supporting artists than paying for Spotify.

      • What's your recommended why of supporting artists? I have heard physical media sales only pass on a small percentage to the creators.

  • Don't know about you guys but I pay $0.99 for 3 months.

    • +2

Yeah but the catch is you have to wait for that deal to become active and create a new account every time.

      • Eh.. I just go without until the next deal pops up. Or sometimes I pay the $13.99 for 3 months if desperate.

        • +1

That's like going without petrol for your car until it is priced reasonably.

  • If you're cheap (like me): ok Google, Spotify dogfood.

    • Or if you're cheap (like me): split Spotify Family
