@whooah1979: Correct. Permanently wrecking the reef or several thousand temporary jobs.

        • @whooah1979: Wouldn't there be other things the government can spend $1billion to create jobs?

        • +1

@Savas: Yep, but to be fair it’s a lot easier selling access to coal deposits than increasing the budget deficit. Anyway, they’re too busy spending our money on postal surveys and high court sideshows surrounding their own citizenship issues. Kick em all out and start again I reckon.

        • +1

          @bohdud: excellent idea!!

    • +1

Not really because someone leaked documents revealing how he plans to bring overseas workers from India to work at $2 an hour or something….

      • +2

Australian law don't allow to $2 per hour, this is false news.

        • +1

          Yeah as if Adani cares…lol….

        • +1

@kiwiinoz: He will have to care if he want to do business in Australia. Many Indian and Chinese companies who underpay in home country they pay full wage according to law in Australia and other western countries.

        • @AshFon: I personally know atleast 3 migrants that use to work at @$4 - $8 an hour at petrol stations owned by either Indians or Chinese….Trust me unless someone complains no one knows….

        • +1

@kiwiinoz: I have worked in a restaurant for $8 per hour so I know exactly what you are talking. I dont think there are many Indian petrol stations around, these independent petrol stations are own my Australian or middle eastern individuals. If they are busted then they have to pay heavy fines, I have seen business going bankrupt because they cant afford pay wages and fines. This is difference between Indian and Australia. Adani can bribe officers in India and under-pay employees but he can't do that here in Aust.

        • That and the immigration laws that would prevent this from happening.

  • What's an Adani

    • +2

Minced lamb on a stick roasted over coals.

  • +4

    Spam that sticks…no thanks

  • +1

If you all thought this booklet was a deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/343498 which I would argue is religious propaganda then these stickers are also a deal :D

    • +1

Whilst i actually agree i reckon thats not a deal either, it's a religious book, not a political driven sticker. But as i said, turf them both!! :)

  • +7

This is not a bargain. This is a political campaign.

  • +5

    Greenie rubbish. Just land fill

  • +5

This should belong in the forums.

If a conservative think tank were handing out stickers, would that be considered a bargain?

    • +4

Spot on. One rule for all, and we all comply. Keep it in the forums.

  • +2

Don't support Adani but this is not a deal.

  • +2

This is the first world problem ozbargain post of the year. So many other important issues in the world and people here are going nuts over some stickers. I think we all need a dose of perspective.

  • +6

This is a local queensland politcal issue..what next get up stickers?

The locals there can figure out whats good for them.

    mixo

  • +3

If you scroll really quickly down the comments, the left side of the screen turns into Christmas.

  • +3

Not really a bargain, or maybe they do charge for the stickers.

    Keep Ozbargain for bargain hunters.

  • +4

i dont care about whatever this campaign is. but this is ozbargain and free stickers are not a bargain.

  • +4

    Stop crying over Adani already…!!!

  • +4

This is basically graffiti in my neighbourhood. It's my council rates that are paying to clean this off stop signs. Not a bargain.

  • +5

Claims to be all about the environment.

    Prints landfill such as this.

  • +1

Tempted to get one so I can write in "Stop, Adani time!" do do do do… do do… do do can't touch this

  • "No door to door sale person" sticker is a bargain, but this is not not. What?

  • +3

Its not the issue, but the forum. This is meant to be "Oz-BARGAIN"!

  • +5

To all the tree huggers will you employ over 1000 people?

  • +4

This is not, or at least should not be, a socialist forum.

    • +1

Reported the post, everyone else should do likewise to send a message that Ozbargain is not a Socialist forum.

  • +1

    Stop the economy!

  • +3

Eight months ago, another political group (Transport Troubles) offered free stickers for your Myki

It had almost exactly the same number of votes that this deal has. Except they were all up-votes because free sticker.

Why does this one have so many downvotes? Gonna guess there's at least some sock-puppetting happening here.

    • Grow up and read the comments. No sock puppeting going on at all.

  • +4

    Not a bargain. Just propaganda.

  • +5

What's this bullshit got to do with online bargain hunting? Can we expect to now see posts for other lobby groups who happen to offer free stickers? This thread belongs on the forums only and should be moved there asap.

    • This is what happens when Leftist and Greens infiltrate your office.

  • +3

MODS - Please make a decision on this as it's taking away from trawling through looking for Christmas Bargains.

    Merry Holidays
The Fence Sitters and Indifferent OzBargainers.

    • +1

      Decision has obviously been made

P.S. If you're indifferent why the hell would you comment - just go back to trawling for Eneloops

      • +1

P.S. you don't need the P.S. as I'm not your PenPal so in keeping with the Spirit of this thread save those keystrokes for other slaying of opinions that you don't agree with.
Trolloly it was nice to talk to you today.
Insert sad face, turn around, walk off and head shake.

        • It stands for postscript, from the Latin post scriptum, meaning "written after."

  • This comments section needs nuked from orbit

  • +4

If every group that gave out free stickers was listed on OzBargain for its "bargain" of free stickers the boards would choke. The only bargain is the 1c sticker.
Mods, surely this thing belongs in the forums?? Groups like this are using the exposure of OzBargain to promote their point of view - there is no actual bargain.

  • +1

Time to find a new bargain site. The leftie greens have infiltrated this one. Put some list's up folks.

    • +5

Waaah! One post I disagree with - I'm going to carefully take the time to comment on it (rather than just move on), then leave the site forever!

    • Feel free to go sonewhere else. No one is stopping you.

  • +2

This coal mine is a bad deal for the Australian tax payer.. NO DEAL!

  • +1

    This is not a deal.

  • +2

Deal or not I can not say, but they are after your personal details to use themselves and sell it to others."(Free, Requires Registration)"

  • +4

This is not a deal, it's political view plus we only know one side of the story…..

  • +2

    troll

  • +4

This is not appropriate, is not a bargain it's a political debate.

  • +2

Good deal. Kids love collecting stickers.

  • Ah yes, the OTHER thing we should vote no to.

(And just like the first thing, government will probably get this one wrong too.)

  • This is a lobbyist movement, not a bargain.

  • These pretzels are making me thirsty…

  • +2

There is no deal or bargain here. This is simply a sign up page for a politically-aligned group that has no place on OzB.

    • +3

Why do the reps let them get away with it, it's not a bargain and it's just more forced in your face activist crap.

  • Yay.. no more mining, no more coal, NO More Jobs, in the name of being a cool activist (with one sided information and perspective)

  • -3

Yet more leftist activist BS, they'll be pushing for socialism/marxism/communism if they keep getting their way. Nobody wants to see your graffiti stickers plastered around on taxpayer funded property. And stop using Ozbargain as a propaganda platform ffs.

  • Does anyone here eat raw onions with the skin on.

    • Is that why there's so much crying on here by the fascists?

      • thugs calling people fascist lol
        Please buy a mirror

        • The bedsheet wearing tiki torch carrying fascists mowed down a woman in car.
          What did the thugs do?

        • @yoyomablue:

The bedsheet wearing tiki torch carrying fascists mowed down a woman in car.
          What did the thugs do?

          As your statement aptly demonstrated

          • playing the victim when it suits. Using Heather Heyer's death to try and justify antifa's actions is disingenuous. So is trying to label anyone they don't like as nazis, fascists, racists, islamophobic, bigoted, whatever.

          • serious assaults on police officers, rally attendees, people with cameras and the press,
            Also,

          • utterly failing to grasp that other groups with a different worldview are allowed to hold rallies without the thugs crashing the rally, inciting brawls and assaulting people just being there to support a cause.

        • @payton: so murdering fascists accuse others of being thugs. LOL

  • +2

To clarify, do the people negging think that the government makes decisions in the interest of the general pubic? Lol

  • +2

The issue on this deal is not related to any individual or company but the attachment of "free" to political biased agenda and where should put Ozbargain a boundary to what is acceptable & what is not. Moderator has mentioned in this deal discussion that any thing which "free" is ok wether it falls under morale boundary or not.

  • -1

    No political lobbying here pls!

  • -2

    Negging, political advertising.

  • +1

    Great deal! Thanks

  • +1

    Awesome sticker! In for 3

  • +2

Even though no HDMI still a great deal!

  • +1

No touch screen but still a bargain! Thanks OP.

  • +4

Problem is not just about mining. The problem is that considering how much natural resources Australia has, if we had a decent government who would think long term and actually try to make money out of the resources for the country instead of being corrupt and giving majority of the monies away for free to private corporations. I remember there was an article comparing how much money we made for roughly the same amount of a particular resource to a middle eastern country (I forget if it was Qatar or Abu Dhabi or …not sure) that also sold it / mined it. It was a crazy difference, we were at like 700-800 million as opposed to their 20 billion.

All due to the majority of the profits going outside / going to private corporations instead of the country who should really be the beneficiary of the resource. There is something terribly wrong with that.

We have arguably the most natural resources out of all the countries in the world, we should really be able to use that alone to pay for all the countries needs, instead of the amazingly high amount of taxes and multiple taxes we end up paying on everything… Having lived in a few other countries when i was a kid before coming here including some countries which had no tax because the government made enough from their resources, I am always stunned at how much money the select few must be making out of all our resources because the majority of the australian population are being ripped off.

      Brah, nobody cares.

      • +3

Obviously people do since there are 4 pages of it.

        • -4

Brah, just uni kids with a free period. Nobody that matters really cares.

          @goober:
Lol at the knobs who negged my comment. Suck an Adani coalmine

    • +1

Dude, you really should take a closer look at Qatar and Venezuela. They are not countries you want to emulate.

      • But that has nothing to do with making money from your natural resources to pay for the countries needs. The more natural resources, the less tax that should be needed. Technically those resources are owned by australians and hence they should be getting something out of it.

        • Nothing to do with it? You are talking about nationalising resources - that is exactly what Venezuela did in their attempt at creating a socialist utopia. The nationalising of the oil industry lead to corruption, huge under-investment, massive inefficiencies, and made the country's budget dependent on the oil price and hence extremely vulnerable to an economic shock.

Qatar uses foreign contractors and basically a foreign slave workforce, no doubt profits are abnormally high when you don't pay wages.

I agree we should get something for our resources, and we do - they are called mining royalties. Governments can sit back and clip the ticket on all extraction, without any of the capital investment or financial risks to taxpayers. What is wrong with leaving it to the private sector if companies can extract resources more efficiently than government, as long as the industry is sensibly regulated? I guess it comes down to whether you believe government or the private can do this better. And I would argue the private sectors has far more runs on the board in this regard.
