Of course without the Amex offer it only represents an effective discount of 26%. You'd be better of signing up for their 30% off email promo if you don't have amex.

  • Single use with minimum spend $60 on full-priced items only.

  • why am i struggling to understand this maths?

    • +3

$44.50 for a $60 spend is the best deal without Amex (26.2% discount)
$24.50 for a $60 spend is the best deal with Amex (60.8% discount)
      (+ postage)

      • Yes thats what i got $25 for $60 spend. But not 24.50 - the code above only takes it to $4.75

        • Need to use the app for full discount

      • To make use of Amex and this Groupon voucher together, your total cart value should be $70 minimum, correct?

      • +2

Good work Spackbace, however the AmEx deal triggers with a minimum $50 spend, so before a Groupon voucher comes to the mix, a cart total of at least $70 is required. This changes the situation to $34.50 for a $70 spend, which is slightly over 50% discount!

      • Was thinking it would be great if we could stack vouchers for one transaction but 60% discount is still good with amex. Free shipping too with $55 spend I believe. Only issues are full priced items only and expiry date of 16/2/18. I already bought a bunch of stuff from cotton on recently

6.9… isn't that just naughty time interrupted by a period?

      Here's the maths for you:

      • If you want to use this deal as Groupon intends, you'd get the voucher from Groupon and pay $4.50.
You'd then load up your Cotton On cart with (hopefully) exactly $60 of stuff, then apply the code.
The cart will now reduce to $40, and you pay $40 by whatever method you choose.
End result: $60 of items for $44.50 (which is a 25.83% discount).

      • If you have the AmEx offer saved to a card, then you'd repeat the initial step above (buying Groupon voucher), but you'd now load up your cart with (hopefully) exactly $70 of stuff, then apply the coupon, which reduces your bill to exactly $50.
Pay this with your AmEx card and it'll trigger an email saying you'll get $20 back.
End result: $70 of items for $34.50 (which is a 50.71% discount). That's just under half price.

That's called being a true professional.

Cheers. That's really detailed and helpful.

        • No worries mate. Glad it helped.

        Username checks out

      • I don't math well. Now that it's established the 20% off email signup works in conjunction, how much do we end up spending and saving with Amex?

        • +10

          Okay here's some more maths:

Assume the 20% off signup voucher works. You've confirmed this so I'll take it as fact.

          • The final cart value after the 20% must be $70. This is before we hit it with Groupon and AmEx.

          • What value discounts by 20% down to $70? Well, the original cart value down by 20% is 80% of the original. Dividing $70 by 80% gives $87.50.

          • So make your cart value exactly $87.50.

          • Hit it with 20% discount welcome voucher, brings it to exactly $70.

          • Now apply Groupon voucher, bringing that down to $50.

          • Pay with your AmEx (enrolled in the offer and not used) to get another $20 off.

          Final amount paid: $34.50.
          Final value of items: $87.50.
          Discount: 60.57%.

Gosh, that's way more professional than I thought. If only Gerry Harvey was here, I'd love to see him so triggered that he punches his screen.

        • @MathNerd:

Just tried it.. looks like it applies the $20 first then the 20%

Edit: Never mind.. didn't reach $55 so $9 added for shipping. Switched to Click and Collect

        • @Thrawn: sign up to shipster and you won't need to worry about the $55 minimum :)

        • @MathNerd:

Doesn't bother me.. the distance between my regular parcel locker and the Cotton On pick-up location is about 100 meters

Note for full priced items only.

  • does cotton on usually restock their items regularly? I have an item that's not available in the size I'm after and also one that disappeared from their site when I checked today, maybe sold out?

Anyone that wants to avail of this offer but:

    • Doesn't have an AmEx card

    • Has an AmEx card but doesn't have the offer saved

    • Has an AmEx card, has the offer saved, but has redeemed it already

Then please send me a PM, I can certainly help you out. All genuine requests considered.

  • Can I use this with the 20% email signup for first orders? How soon do you get the voucher? I want to order tonight.

      • Does the voucher come through straight away?

      • Yes it's stackable.thanks to Ricky

        Time to do some shopping

    • Yes it is stackable! just tried and my 100$ order went to $60! (20% first then $20 groupon!)

Use cashreawrds for another 10.50% on 50$ ?

  • Amex is totally useless with Cotton On these days, has anyone managed to use Amex cards on Cotton On website and in store? I tried several time and got declines. Called Amex and they applied the credit manually (had to upload the receipt), called Cotton On and they advised me to use Visa debit or credit cards instead, I think Cotton On is now dodgy like Harvey Norman.

    • Yes, have used online or in store a few times with no problems

    • No issues across different Amex’s.

    • Strange. No issues with them, at all. One cash back didn't register so I had to call up and Chase them but that's all. Other three all went through.

      • Have used 3 with no issues.

This is just too much effort for me just to get cotton on stuff at full price. I guess it’s good for people getting xmas presents…

  • As a sweetener, don't forget about the 10.5% cashback from Cash Rewards.

  • silly question but where do I get the code from my Groupon voucher? I have tried the Groupon code and security code and both dont' work.

    • it's the groupon voucher code found on the top right hand side of your groupon voucher (pdf)

  • +1

I almost placed an order online but decided to go to the store to try t-shirts on. Guess what, without any discounts and coupons prices in their Haymarket store were twice as lower than online. Don't buy online!

    • Not necessarily true, depends on what you buy.

  • Stacks with code for another 10% off: Festive10

    • No…. I take that back. Code gets removed when groupon code is used.
