Two Units of Sony WH-1000XM2 Gold Wireless Headphones for $690 Delivered @ C.O.W

710
OzbargainLove

My mother always told me that two heads are better than the price of chips. I really wish I understood Chinese better so I can translate her wisdom properly. To celebrate the wisdom of putting two heads together we are offering two headphones for the unbelievable price of $690!

We will place one set of headphones in a smaller delivery box and combine that with another set of headphones in a bigger box. Now if you find another Ozbargainer to share your order, you can re-send the smaller delivery box to the other person.

We reserve the right to give priority to Ozbargainers that are sharing their order.

So let's see the spirit of sharing and cooperation between Ozbargainers.

And for a What HiFi review of these headphones, please click here

Please note: Goods will leave our warehouse on Tuesday.

Urgh, forgot to add, official Aussie stock with TRS tax invoice.

  • That’s a damn good deal for $345 each if you find someone to share! Even better than the current Amex Deal

    • +1

The Sony Center shop was doing them for around $350 last week on special (yes the v2) when I was in there looking, didn't buy though, should have but no money!….. So if you want just one pair, go hit them up!

      • +2

I did see that but decided my QC35's dont need an upgrade yet.

        • Was more for those not wanting two pairs and maybe black instead of GASP gold….. ;)

  • +1

    Shame only one colour

  • +4

Alright, so who wants to share this deal with me? Victorian local? I am in Melbourne so happy to pay upfront and you can then pick it up from me for cash? haha!

    • +3

Now this is what we want to see. Let's get all these messages rolling!!!

      • What are the delivery time frames like @sm007h?

        • I am really sorry but these are the last call out for delivery by courier companies so ETA are not going to be reliable. Non-Christmas period, it is usually 1 - 2 business days to Melbourne.

        • @sm007h: Sounds alright. Do you use Auspost?

        • @J4Jayden: We prefer to use our own courier-aggregator - they tend to use either Fastway, Allied, TNT or Couriers Please

        • @sm007h: WHat I am looking at here is basically a delivery before Christmas. SO that's like a week from now. What are your thoughts on that? I understand it's not under your control but do you think it could make here to the Melbourne CBD before Christmas?

        • +2

@J4Jayden: Good chance it will get to Melbourne CBD before Christmas since couriers do not want to have any packages left behind before they shut down.

        • @sm007h:

          So Sendle

    • I'll be down with sharing the price with you? I work in Kew so can meet you in CBD if possible? Also OP is there warranty on this, as the old version were very prone to cracking.

      • +1

It is official stock, so you will get warranty direct from Sony Australia or from us.

        • Will he need to provide an invoice when claiming warranty? Because only the original purchaser is going to have that..

        • +2

@lostn: you'll be fine with a copy of the invoice. Everything is tracked by serial numbers anyways. As we send a digital invoice, both of you can have a copy.

      • Beautiful, I can PM you my phone number. I work in the CBD so we can meet here. Hopefully it won't take too long to get here. I am looking at before Christmas.

    • -1

I'm in SE suburbs. Considering it, but when it comes to warranty, I'm going to be SOL since you are the purchaser.

      • I am pretty sure we can copy the receipt and use it. It's Aussie stock so a copy of receipt is all you need.

        • -1

Don't know. Maybe they will only ship it back to the person and address supplied on the original invoice. Unless someone reassures me otherwise, I'm waiting for a non-gimmicky deal.

        • +2

@lostn: If that was the case then giving anything as a gift would be difficult for warranty, as would moving house.

        • -1

@Fybre: A gift is free. This arrangement is not. If I couldn't claim warranty on a gift, I still don't lose anything. This is something you pay for.

Moving house does not come with a name change. You are still you, and you can inform Sony that you changed your address. Could I inform them that you changed your address to mine?

  • +1

    Get on it!

    • Hey J4Jayden, I work in Melbourne CBD and am in. I kinda want it asap and can pay in cash too. If interested, pls DM me.

  • Come on Melbourne people, I am keen on getting one of these. I have a black/grey unit already and they are way better than Bose ones. ANyone for a pair? They will make a great Christmas present so let's collude…

    • It's actually ridiculous how much bettter than the Bose QC35s they are. I had the original 1000x, best sound and best noise cancelling ever. But the headband cracked after 2 months, so I swapped them at Jb for the Bose. I literally want to go back to the Sonys though as there is just no comparison :(

      • Mate the MX2 quality is at bar with Bose if not better. Won't crack. I actually did a YouTube review and that's from a Bose fan boy point of view. NC is in matchable and those lows and miss tho…

        • I'm glad to hear it, might go back to it.

  • Hi @j4jayden if no one else shares this with you I will cause I need one pair of this and we can meet in Melb. CBD

    • Hey man! Yeap, I am up for it. I actually have a pair but need another one to gift a family member. These are great and DEF better than Bose QC 335 II. Let me know how you want to do this. Please feel free to PM me.

  • I will buy 2 if you could date my invoice 20 Jan…wont be travelling until Mar 2018

    • +5

We provide invoice on shipping date. If you can wait until Jan 20th for shipping, then we can do this. You will need to place the order now to take advantage of the pricing though.

  • I bought mine from jb for $450 and still barely use them lol.
Earphones are just more comfy for lying around in the bed and it still feels awkward to wear these outdoors kind of thing.

  • +1

    Anyone around glenferrie?

  • I'm in, let me know anyone want to share.

    • Where abouts?

  • -1

This price ($345 ea) is not unobtainable in single units. Just wait a bit. I think we've breached $350 already.

  • That's unbelievable! Too bad I've already bought mine from JB a month ago. The noise cancelling on these things are exceptional.

  • I bought MDR1000x last year and WH1000XM2 2 weeks ago. they are both really good NC headphones.

  • Hi I'm in Essendon.

    • I am in if you wanna do it? We can meet up in Melbourne CBD as I work here. What do you think?

  • Cheaper than refurb! Great deal. It's getting kind of late in the day, OP. How quickly can you ship? Pick-up an option or are you drop-shipping?

    I'm Sydney CBD based.

PSST - anyone else in Sydney really keen to grab a pair of these? I travel on Tuesday morning.

    • I am.

      • I've messaged the OP with a query. If it seems he/she can guarantee delivery on Monday (or allow me to pick up on Monday from somewhere in Sydney) are you OK to meet and collect the other unit?

      • Pulled the trigger.

        AMAZING service from the OP.

Order processed and friendly, personalised text message received within 5mins.

        • You still got the pair?

        • @SimpleRoger: Purchased two - one for me and one for @albert0pia

    • Closing this out:

      1. This is a genuine deal. Glad I took a punt and proceeded with the purchase.
      2. I now have my headphones and @albert0pia has his via clandestine meeting in a Strathfield Car Radios carpark (top bloke, BTW :-)
      3. The OP @sm007h (Phil) gets customer service and the value of good communication. I wouldn't think twice about buying from C.O.W again.
      4. The items are definitely Sony AU sourced items (per shipping label on outside of the master carton)
      5. You will receive a compliant tax invoice for warranty and TRS purposes.

      Important note:
The GST payable "Product" listed on the tax invoice for this particular deal is "Two Units of Sony WH-1000XM2 Gold" with the Quantity listed as "1". For a hassle-free TRS transaction at the airport, I would definitely present BOTH PAIRS. The second unit from my purchase is already with its new owner (hello, Albert!) and I won't be bothering with TRS next week when I fly. Still a FANTASTIC deal.

      • Hmm i hadnt thought about the automated invoice system. If you want, i can create a manual invoice for 1 set of headphones. Let me know

        • That would be fantastic, thank you!

        • hi yes! I bought a pair of these headsets sharing with another person, but because it's the other person that bought it, the invoice is under their name. As I would like to get TRS refund, would you be able to create a manual invoice for me? If yes, could you please provide an email address to which I can send my details?

        • @pyroflamer: can you email [email protected] with invoice details and your order number. Thanks

  • I've been going back and forth between these and the Sennheiser PXC550, was leaning towards the Sennheiser but this is tempting me the other way now.

    • I have the PXC 550. The touch controls, while a very handy feature, can be annoying sometimes. Phantom touches are just one of the issues I face on a daily basis. And just recently, it's started to act funky with my phone when I'm using it to make and receive calls.

      • +1

These Sony ones have touch controls too. It also has atmospheric pressure sensor so it can adjust for comfort according to external pressure - VERY useful on flights. Plus the Sony supports LDAC, which is a true high def audio format (more than aptX HD), but you will need a supported Sony device to utilise the high res audio.

        • Can vouch for the Sony touch controls as being excellent.

  • J4Jayden, I'm in. Pls pm me.

  • I'm in Delahey, VIC if anyone is interested in buying one only :)

    • +1

It costs about $10 to deliver the smaller box interstate. We provide you with the smaller box - the only thing you need to do is sticky tape it up and place a label on it.

      • -1

Just clarifying that I need to pay the courier an extra $10 for delivery to another person or is that already included?

        • +1

What I meant was, if someone else wants to share with you and they cannot pick up, you can send them the smaller box. Both of you can work out the cost of the extra delivery.

Our delivery to you is free.

        • @sm007h: Done, thank you so much :) So anyone in Melbourne happy to pick one up in cash?

  • Anyone know if the headband breaking issue has been fixed with this model?

    • Look up reviews most say not.the h.ear on 2s are better apparently and can be picked up for 300.

  • Great deal. Thanks OP

  • +3

Silly deal, just make it 360 for single, plus who wants to wear gold on their head

    • A king.

  • Will orders on single set in black ship on Tuesday too or when?

    • Blacks are next morning shipping.

      • is it possible to do two black ones for $690?

        • Sorry, no can do :(

  • If anyone is travelling from AU to Wellington, NZ over xmas/NYs, You'll be able to get the tax back at the airport, so will cost us $310 aud each, and depending on the arrival time in Wellington, I may be able to pick u up from the airport so you can save another $20 on a taxi :D

    • Im going to Auckland over NYs… I can bring it to NZ then courier to u if u are interested? Should be cheaper for national shipping? Still get the tax back :D

      • Yeah I am keen, and would pay courier charge, but worried about the potential for fraud since we are not doing it in person.

  • Out in Blackburn, keen for a set. Will be travelling overseas so I can get tax back and obviously willing to share the savings.

    • don't forget to bring both phones onto the plane when travelling :D

      • PM'd :)

        • I’m keen for a set too! Happy to get one. :) In Melbourne here!

I managed to get Harvey Norman to price match + 2 overprice USB-C cables to get the $100 cash back. Thanks man

      • What? Serious? Harvey Norman has recognised us enough to allow a price match?

        • Yeah, maybe i just have a easy operator? Is it a good or bad thing? I would have bought from you guys if i didn't have the Amex offer.

        • @od810: the more well known we become the bigger we are as a target.

        • @od810: mate which Harvey Norman? tried to get price match at JB, they wouldn't.

Been using these headphones for almost 2 months now. Here is why this is hands down my favourite bluetooth NC headphones of all competitors:

    • LDAC support. Higher resolution audio than aptX HD, LDAC is a true high definition audio format. If you have a Sony device with LDAC support, you'll have access to the best quality audio in bluetooth headphones. I'm currently using mine with a XZ Premium.

    • Built-in atmospheric pressure sensor. It can detect exterior pressure and adjust for comfort accordingly. Very useful on flights when altitudes change, the headphones remain comfortable to wear and listen to unlike other brands. BIG plus for people who fly frequently like me.

    • Touch controls with Google Assistant. Whilst other brands like to advertise Google Assistant as a feature, the Sony WH-100XM2 has it as well. Just hold the play/pause touch part of the headphone and it'll activate Google Assistant.

    • No need to take off the headphones to have a conversation, just put your whole hand over the right headphone and it'll automatically disable NC and lower audio volume.

    • These headphones can even detect if you're walking/standing and automatically adjust for noise cancelling accordingly. If you're walking it can let a bit of ambient sound in so you can hear surrounding cars. Hell it can even detect if you're wearing glasses and adjust for that too!

Easily the best bluetooth NC headphone of 2017, plenty of reviews will confirm that too.

    • Agree with all of the above - they sound brilliant and the NC is significantly better than the Sennheiser PXC 550s, but the Sonys suck for phone calls. People on the other end can hardly hear me. The PXC 550 in contrast are as good as any dedicated call center headset I've ever used for phone calls.

There are quite a few reviewers that think the Sony outperforms the Bose headphones, but on Ozbargain, our site crashed when we had Bose in the deal.

      • sounds like it's time for another bose deal? :)

      • I have both and I think sony rivals the NC level and absolutely better in sound quality.

IMHO, it's only because sony is not a popular brand in Australia.

    • LDAC support. Higher resolution audio than aptX HD, LDAC is a true high definition audio format. If you have a Sony device with LDAC support, you'll have access to the best quality audio in bluetooth headphones. I'm currently using mine with a XZ Premium.

Can you describe what this "hi def" audio sounds like? Is it a Sony proprietory format? Those never go well, especially when Sony tries them. If there's an open format, I assume it will replace Sony's. I can't even count how many proprietory Sony formats have failed.

      • Yes it is a Sony proprietory audio format. It streams audio at 990kbps compared to aptX at 576kbps, so the difference in quality is noticeable. Coupled with Sony's DSEE HX upscaling in newer models you can get better audio quality even from lower bitrate mp3s. The headphones support other formats too, but it is nice to have the option for high def bluetooth audio.

  • i really wish these and QC35 would have usb - c.

  • Bose = comfort for longer; more information in the voice announcements.
Sony = slightly better in every other dimension; even voice announcements have a more 3d, natural and sci-fy voice vs bose like a 90's computer voice.

    https://community.bose.com/t5/Wireless-Headphones/QC35-Bluet…

  • I see some posts talking about getting this as a gift. Isn't $350 too much for a gift? Or maybe I'm just a TA.

  • Good work. Received tracking number early this morning. Just bought the single black one last night for $375 :) Great service thus far :)

    • +2

Orders with tracking numbers have left our warehouse

      • Yay saw it on the tracking. Thanks OP for a great deal :)
