        • @tcollins:
Best advice I can give is to go to a store with a tape measure, and measure how far back you are from a 65" tv where you're vision is most comfortable.

    • General rule over 3m will be fine !

  • Got 65" one for $2200 from good guys couple of months ago

  • Cant seem to find how much power the 65 uses, am I doing something wrong?

  • Would I be able pair up my bluetooth headphones directly to this without using an external BT transmitter?

    • 6 Series dont have B.T anymore only 7 and above do

      • The specs for this tv model 6100 state they include Bluetooth Audio - is it to receive Bluetooth audio only but not transmit?

      • sorry my bad they do these days.

  • The specs on the samsung website say otherwise….

    http://www.samsung.com/au/tvs/uhdtv-mu6100/UA43MU6100WXXY/

  • Reckon we will see some nice deals on TVs heading to boxing day? I am looking to upgrade but I need to sell my 55" 4K first.

This is a great price for a 65" imo and is what I would be looking to pay.

  • +2

Good price. Though I went to check it out and was not impressed by the picture quality of the 43’ in comparison to the Hi-sense and LG 43’ sitting next to it.

    • +2

I pulled out my card and was 99% into buying it until I read your comment. I was too lazy/busy to go in store and give it a look. Thanks for saving me $598.

      • +1

No worries. I was going to do likewise and assume the quality because of it’s brand name and decent specs. First thing I noticed was the bit of fuzz In the background which turned me off straight away. Others may not mind given that it is a good deal, but I’m quite particular when it comes to picture quality that I couldn’t do it.

        • -2

I’ve had the 50” version for about a month now. Picture quality is excellent. I previously had the Hisense N6 and Sony X7000E, this blows both of them out of the water. Main use is gaming and movies. You can’t really judge a TV by looking at it in a shop. Look at the rtings.com review for the MU6300 (US equivalent of out 6100), and owner reviews. It’s an excellent entry level TV.

If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to ask. Like I said, I previously had the Hisense N6 and Sony X7000E, so that’s what I can directly compare this TV to.

    • were they all playing 4k content ??? Hisense and LG usually have their own 4k content whilst the others run that crappy foxtel/telstra demo..

    • I think a review on rtings said the 43" version was worse than the larger sizes (small sizes are IPS)

    • Yeah had the same experience. Ended up getting a Hisense 50N6 because it looked so much better.

  • +3

I went in. Tv was displayed next to SUHD, QLED then OLED. I thought I was buying a 65" crt.

    • does that mean its bad?

    • same here. Went to the local JB store and felt picture was very ordinary for the specs. Saved myself the hassle from having to return it the next day.

    • Haha, exact same situation here. It was displayed under a QLED. Quality difference was too much.

  • Have had this TV for a couple of months now, great for the bedroom and for $598 is a absolute bargain. Thanks OP, Coles MC price protect now owes me $400!

    • Does the cheaper price have to be from the same retailer?

      • yes

  • +2

Price matched at Hardly Normal under extreme duress…. scores the Amex credit too ;)

  • +11

    Ok, there’s some really inaccurate comments in this thread from people that don’t own the TV. I’ve owned the MU6103 (which is the MU6100 minus Bluetooth and the One remote) for about a month, previously had the Hisense N6 and Sony X7000E. A few points;

    • If looking for reviews, the US equivalent of our MU6100 is the MU6300. Rtings.com review Rtings are very good, but very (fairly) critical. Use their comparison tool to check it against other tv’s.

    • HDR. Does this TV have it? Yes. Is HDR any good? It’s decent, but you won’t get the full effect due to the colour gamut and peak brightness. But, with HDR on, there is a noticeable and pleasant difference compared to having it off. I first tested it with Gears of War 4 on Xbox One X. There’s is an option to have the screen split between HDR and SDR during gameplay. There’s is a noticeable difference.

    • Picture quality (when taking price into comparison and not comparing it to an OLED or TV that is double the price!) is excellent in my opinion. Main uses are Xbox One X, PS4 and Netflix, and for these uses, this TV has been far better than N6 and X7000E that I previously had.

    • TV is excellent for gaming, it has low input lag.

A lot of Ozbargainers here offer really good advice and know their stuff, but a lot are sharing some really inaccurate information and making some pretty daft comments.

I don’t have a single complaint about this TV so far.

    • +3

your comment is geared towards gaming. I didnt ask the sales assistant to break out a ps4 so i can shoot the crap.
But the picture I saw on the 4k movie on display was pretty ordinary and thats comparing it to the Sony, Sharp and LG's on similar spec and roughly the same price point.
Id rather wait for the N7 to hit sub $1500 and get that over the MU6100.
Ive always been a Samsung advocate as my last three have been Samsungs but today felt a little underwhelmed.

      each own.

      • Gaming and movies. LG’s IPS panel TVs are utter garbage, but probably look good under store lighting. Wait until you get it into a dark room and the horribly low contrast and terrible blacks are on display. Did you check the settings of the display model? You can make a $700 TCL look better than a $2000 Sony by playing with the calibration. Meh, this TV isn’t for everyone, but i wouldn’t be making a decision based on looking at a instore display without turning off store mode and doing some basic calibration checks.

        • I'm not one of those people who turn the lights off. So will I be fine?

        • @lostn: how does she looks?

  • I think i got one of the last 3 left in Victoria

  • +1

I'm looking for a 70" or 75". Anyone know of any good deals? I'm not too familiar with TV's.

    • JB had a 70" TCL fpr $1995. I'm sure it's not as good as a $4k tv, but looked nice in store. TCL is fairly big in the US, and seem to be pushing here now too. It's the TV's Ellen gives away, so they must be good…right??

  • Can it be used as a monitor since it has a high resolution?

    • Yes.

But typically using TVs as monitors is never good.

  • What do you guys think of using this as a monitor? Interested in getting the 43" and using it as a 4K monitor. For general use, not a gamer.

    • It's not good enough. I have bought one today and it's not cutting the mustard.

      • +1

        Why?

      • What's wrong with it? Can you explain further?

  • +1

    Hi Guys
Just bought this from goodguys. They price matched it. When the sales rep was changing the price on the screen, it popped a message saying are you sure you want to change the selling price below the purchase price.
    Havent unboxed it yet.

  • Probably worth mentioning delivery is pretty cheap… Seems to be +$18 to anywhere.

    • +1

Yeah I purchased the delivery option too. $18 ain't a bad price to avoid the
      He crazy Christmas shoppers.

      • +2

How did you get it for $18.

        Shows $59 for Sydney

    • Standard Delivery: $59.00 to Adelaide

      • +1

Should have clarified, I'm referring to the 43" TV

  • Does any one know how this compares to the Mu7000 series?

  • +1

Got 65mu6100 with price match in Harvey Norman today.
not the best TV from Any perspective, but this tv will server you good until next big update in TV industry.

    • what will be the next big update? any insights?

  • +2

We bought the 43" one. Love the picture quality, impressed with the sound, so loud and clear.

  • +1

Thanks op, got the 65". Love it for the price, much better than my older series 6 55".

  • +1

Received a message from JB apparently they are waiting for more stock from the supplier.

    • Tell them it was for an xmas present and you want to be compensated with a free voucher or something if it doesn't arrive on time, worth a try :)

    • +1

For me until today no message from JB, but on the "Order received" email there is a small print says "Arrives on or before 09 Jan 2018"

      • +1

        Damn, I received mine yesterday.

      • Did you get yours yet? I’m still waiting…

  • Can anyone help with screw length for wall mounting?
Manuals suggested length doesn't match with the panels reality
    (43")

  • Anyone else still waiting to receive theirs?
