Yeah nothing wrong with the cooler on the original card. At least it's not one of those loud blower type ones.

Nobody said it wouldn't work or that it will blow up.
But why would you want to increase the temperature inside your PC when there's other options?
Especially so with a high end card and factory OC.

Any chance they would honour those orders with double discounts?
Computer parts are fairly low margin and it's very unlikely they will honour. Even a unintended discount of an additional 10% can wipe out much of their profits.
However this is eBay and you can leave negative feedback for a pretty wide range of reasons, so there is a little bit of pressure at the other end to honour your purchase.
But yeah… I wish you all luck in getting a discounted GTX 1080 :)

Doesn't this use an older cooler though, you can get the Asus STRIX OC 1080 for $668. I think for $74 more it might be worth it.
