HoMedics Radiance Microdermabrasion System (Facial Skin Exfoliation) - $89.95 @ Shaver Shop

410
SHAVE10

I've had my eye on this for a while, but didn't want to pay the $199.95 retail. Today I found Shaver Shop had it on sale for 50% off so went out and grabbed one. Having watched the price of this product for a while, this is definitely the cheapest I've seen it. I haven't tried it yet, so can't comment on it's performance. It's got good reviews online. I was previously going to a beauty therapist for microdermabrasion, I'm hoping it will pay itself off in 2-3 uses.

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2017

Wash and dry face, "place the diamond tip flat against the skin until you feel suction then move it slowly across the surface of the skin in a smooth motion covering the same areas no more than 2-3 times in the one treatment" - It's for facial exfoliation and cleansing.

      • oh ok thanks

120 grit from Bunnings is quicker.

        • @GregMonarch: that's basically what it is , wet and dry paper with a vacuum.
I am sure if there was a kit with a stack of little squares of wet and dry people would say no way, add it to a battery device and it's yes please.

Next door neighbour has one of these, my wife says it looks like she's burnt herself when she uses it, she is so red.

        • @PVA: My wife has sun damage from years at the beach. I've often wondered if these kinds of things (IPL, this, etc.) get rid of that but without causing other problems.

        • @GregMonarch:
I was thinking the same but a quick search came up with that this is more for skin damaged by acne etc.

I wonder if ipl etc do more damage and make the skin super sun sensitive and prone to skin disease ( skin cancer).

        • @GregMonarch:

          And more manlier

      • anyone have an idea on the size of the filters? i’ve been googling attempting to find the size but have had no luck.
Reason i ask is next year i’m moving to hong kong for the year and i’m trying to figure out how to buy the filters
seems like ebay has heaps of generic ones, but they come in different sizes

        • Which ones on eBay did you find? I'm trying to find filters for my Revit one

        • @Ughhh:
          https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Powerful-Diamond-Dermabrasion-Micr…

          https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Cotton-Filter-for-Diamond-Dermabra…

          https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Silkn-ReVit-Microderm-100-Replacem…

So it seems that many come up as diamond microdermabrasion filters - judging from the pics, the diamond one is actual machine? The last link says revit wool filters replacement.

Can i ask the machine you have, is it any good? Like would u recommend one to buy and use and would help with pores etc? My skin isn’t too bad, Ill be using it for whiteheads mainly. Ive been trying to find reviews for this machine and although i have found a few they mainly come from websites (which i’m always skeptical of) rather than forums etc.
I’m assuming the machine you have is similar too the ozbargain one.

        • @eltito:

I have the Revit brand one, got mine for $70. I like it, I mainly only use it when my skin feels dry and flakey (eww). With the black filters, you can definately see all the dead skin. I wouldn't be using this on active blemishes, it's mainly for scars and dead skin removal. My skin does feel smoother after using it, in think it helps your skin care products work better eg. Better absorbtion.

I think it worth trying for $90.
