Alienware boxing day sale featured a great deal with $600 off the Alienware 13R3.

Key specs
Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ (Quad-Core, 6MB Cache, up to 3.8GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
Win10 Home 64bit
32GB DDR4 at 2400MHZ (2x16GB)
512GB PCIe SSD
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5
13.3" QHD OLED Touch display
Killer 1535 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1

When using 3.5% CashRewards, this drops down to $2894.

I have been following this for a while and it's RRP is $3600, and even with deals/coupons/etc is circa $3300. This is also the high spec OLED model often reviewed online, and is different to the SKU which JB Hifi stocks (which only has the 1080p panel and 1050Ti).

As part of a new promotion, Alienware also give an extra $150 in Dell Advantage Rewards voucher for future purchases too subject to T&C's (basically, spend $300+ and you can use the $150 voucher on your next purchase within 60 days). Could be useful for an Alienware Graphics Amplifier or Alienware Vindicator bag. Refer to: http://www.dell.com/learn/au/en/audhs1/campaigns/dell-advant…

EDIT: End date extended from 28/12 to 4/1/18.

  • the jbhifi $800 off deal was so good, damn they dont have that kinda deal for 13

    • The challenge for me is the JB Hifi SKUs typically aren't that great - I bought my AW15R3 from them and settled for GTX1060 and 1080p 60hz Gsync panel.

  • would you guys be willing to ditch the oled for an upgrade to a 1080?

    • 1080p? No.

GTX1080? Not available in this sized laptop but would also be overkill for a small screen. And battery life would be out the window.

Side note I have a 1080Ti in an AGA (eGPU) and it’s great.

but would also be overkill for a small screen

Once you start using DSR on games you realise there's no such thing as overkill.

        • +1

How does DSR not make a GTX1080 overkill on a small screen?

Alienware is stil an l expensive laptop. The 17.3 R4 laptop have $1200 off! But i still feel expensive compare with dell US

Gaming computer but still no at least 120hz display lol

    • Fair point but I’d pick OLED over 100Hz for a 13” laptop. Could just be my use scenario but I have an X34 on my Alienware Graphics Amp w 1080Ti so that when I’m out I get portable and good battery life gaming but at home I use it as a dock essentially.

  • Gigabyte Aero 15X would be a better buy than this… even if it's slightly more expensve

What a rip off for those specs.

    • Mmm hmm.. Geek dick swinging.

I bet you are the guy who would pay full price for beats headphones too.

        • Um, no.

    • Pure specs yes but in a 13” laptop then its hard to beat. Admittedly it’s more like a 14 in size but I wanted something smaller than my AW15R3 and to use my 1080Ti in the AGA.

  • It was a trick. Gtx1080maxQ ofc. Why downgrade the screen? Xmas pranked ya

  • Mine arrived today!

Wow it has a Samsung PM981 for the boot drive!
