Harvey Norman - Logitech G29/G920 Wheel Game Bundle $347, Shifter $54, Total $401 ($301 with AmEx Cashback)

130

Try to use my Harvey Norman Amex offer before expiry, find they have the logitech drive wheel G920 or G29 bundled with different games for $347, add shifter for $54, in total $401, the Amex offer will bring it down to $301, currently the best offer in market.
Was hoping a better deal like the poms having now, https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/now-live-logitech-driving-f…, but seems Amazon is not good enough to push the price down.

  • Sweet deal for a great wheel setup 👍

  • Am thinking of getting just the wheel. Or do I need the shifter too really to enjoy it?

Depends on how good you are at racing games.. I've got an old G25 which includes the shifter and I never use it, but that's because I use a lot of assists with most games. You could always try getting just the wheel to start, and then get the shifter at a later point.

The main issue, for me anyhow, is if you don't have the shifter you don't have an easy handbrake if you use flappy paddles for gears.

So you can get away without it in games where you rarely need the handbrake eg. Forza but it becomes a real issue in games where you do eg. Dirt Rally/4 (or you can use auto gears which is a handicap is some games eg Dirt Rally/4, PC2).

I never used my g27 shifter because my seat doesn't have the area to attach it but would have been good because it had the buttons on it for ps3. These new models don't have any buttons on it so it is purely if you care for the shifter and have the physical room. Going fully Auto or using the paddels is fine for most games. Can always get it later like steelpanther said.

I have g27 and never use shifter except for the buttons sometimes.. if you wanted to use manual mode, though obviously not the same experience, you can just use paddles or configure buttons for gears.

  • I have the PlayStation G29 special GT edition bit seems after windows 10 upgrade I can't get it to work anymore.

Has a shifter. Few games natively recognise it.

Anyone had this windows 10 issue with a wheel and resolved it

Not sure if it's the same issue as what I had with my G27 but mine would come up as a different wheel in the Logitech profiler - Driving Force GT I think.
The trick was to uninstall all drivers, unplug the wheel from the USB port, restart then kick off the profiler install only plugging it in when specifically asked to.

      • ok will try that… interesting that mine IS the Driving Force GT model, which was a special edition… so not so widely known supported, but very similar to the other wheels.

my mistake - it comes up as a "Driving Force EX"
An ancient model with blue rubber. What does the Logitech Profiler report or are you using it without any extra drivers?

This is what mine used to look like when I plugged the device in then tried installing the logitech software ontop.
          https://community.logitech.com/sfc/servlet.shepherd/version/…

          Uninstall and remove drivers
          unplug
          restart
          install the logitech software (lgs510_x64)
wait for it to ask you to plugin midway through install

After that no issues. Before this I had serious trouble getting my shifter even detected.

  • This is the cheapest I have found it right now as well. I'm going to get the g920 and pc2 to go with my Xbox one s I just got for Xmas. Thanks!

  • Probably cheaper to set up an account with a UK parcel-forwarder, purchase the UK deal in the OP, and then pay the forwarding fee.

  • How does this compares with this Logitech G29/G920 Wheel deal ?

    • the 458 is not force feed back so night and day…

don't know about amex but gamesmen have either wheel and shifter for $379.95 umart wheel only $349 pc case $359 etc https://www.gamesmen.com.au/pack-cont-pc-ps4-ps3-logitech-g2…

  • If anyone in sydney wants one i have a good as new one my boy wants to offload.
1 hrs use and he was not able to use it proper in his bedroom so wants some holiday spending money instead.
He wants $300 and comes with shifter so chance for someone to save more coin for an unboxed couple race tested setup 👍
