Kenwood Double Din, Touch Screen Head Unit, DDX4017BT, $264.60 @ JB Hi-Fi

120

I priced matched at Super Cheap Auto as I am far from the nearest JBHifi. The guy that served me said it was below wholesale price. Not sure about that, however the same unit was $499 and minus 25 percent off (store wide) at SCA, is $374.25, so a bargain in my book. Cheers.

    Kenwood Double Din

    Din Din?

  • I wonder people still need to use this stuff?

    • +3

Yes if you have an older car with no phone input

      Instead of?

  • does this support android auto?

  • Who can I get to install it?

    • +3

      Installers

      • Yep, I've had the installers over there do some good work on my stuff that needed some installing.

No android auto or apple carplay, and a resistive touch screen.
Cheap but doesn't seem like a good investment.

Apple car play doesn’t really support anything of use due to its heavy app restrictions. Most useful is probably Spotify, which this unit does anyway. And at an extra $200 odd to gain car play, it’s probably pretty poor value to pursue over this.

Can’t speak for Android auto, that may be far more useful.

  • I'm looking at buying a doub din player, but do people recon this one is better than JVC

JVC and Kenwood are the same company. Those 2 units are almost the same in specs too. Kenwood has rear USB input (they give you a cable which you can route under the dash where as JVC has it on the front panel, also the Kenwood has variable colour key illumination where as JVC seems to only have blue). But that JVC is a better and cheaper deal (don't forget 10% off code) as it comes with the reverse camera. I have the DDX4016BT, personally I'd get one with Android Auto/Apple Carplay these days.

$224 after the 10% discount is really cheap for a brand new JVC double din blue player.

        • +1

with reverse camera you can flog off for like $50 too!

Damn… I already have an alpine head unit but this deal is so good I feel like just buying it for the sake of buying lol. Only problem is the "Antenna control" on these units. Some older cars have the antenna that goes up only when the radio is activated. With many of these units the antenna goes up once you turn on the unit regardless if you're listen to radio, usb, cd etc. Won't know about this feature unless it's actually installed!

Brilliant, just bought this. Was close to buying a "Joying" but local warranty and these functions will do me.
