Alright folks, I have found the middle-ground price here, with hopefully enough stock for everyone. If you're still on the fence about the Xiaomi Air Purifier 2 vs others… Just do it!

Get it first and read my recent post and its comments for all the right reasons later.

GB lead time and shipping service is pretty fast I'd say. Personally I bought this on the 27th and on 29th I was able to track with Australia Post, though it only says "Shipping information received by Auspost Fri 29 Dec".

    Hey all, I’m new to the air purifying game :) I bought a secondhand Sharp Air Purifier FUY30JW a year ago which in which the filter is due for replacement soon. Does this Xiaomi compare well in performance? The filters also seem cheaper for the Xiaomi! Thanks

      Quite different tech. The sharps have plamsacluster technology which claims to destroy airborne bacteria and other particles (it may also dry out the air). Their filters also remove 99.97% of 0.3micron particles whereas the xiaomis mention 99.3% which isn't the same. Personally I'd stick with the sharp but you should do your own research esp if it's for your health…

      Check the earlier post there are a lot of reasons and great feedback, we are a family of allergy/heyfeaver suffers, it has also been on my radar for fungus removal, and this is a great price!

      I have two of them and I'd buy that data, they're so quiet on auto mode compared to one of my other air purifiers they can't be doing too much. I mainly purchased for when cooking with oils or it gets smokey in my apartment with no airflow. Then when it ramps up I can visibly see how effective it is.

      I'm testing now to see if it retains a favourite higher fan setting, will report back in 3 hours. From what I can tell it has the ability to be a good air purifier but its fan curves on auto isn't aggressive enough, probably to attain better acoustics. Even then it's price is dirt cheap compared to other offerings.

        You can use a timer to switch it on turbo every 3 hrs if required.

          Thanks, I hadn't even looked into auto mode not being good enough so I'll setup automation timers for a higher favourite fan speed.

          So I guess the take-away is the fan has the ability to be good but auto mode is bad because it tries to be too quiet and doesn't pass enough air. So all you need to do is set automation and timers in the Mi Home app and it will run just as well as devices that are two, three, four and five times the price.

      Yes. It is likely to be quieter at the same air flow rate. Ie low on the pro vs medium on the 2.

      I just bought my first Air Purifier so it's good to wait and assess the performance in different rooms etc. before deciding if more of the same or bigger airflow version would be more suitable.

          Not at this deal price. Currently, you can go US$139.30 (~AU$177.80) from Gearbest(only 2 left from China warehouse according to their page), or $179.091 from Tomtop eBay (assuming you are able to use the 10% discount code).

          Tomtop one is better in this case because some users have reported receiving their order in a week's time and also plug is confirmed to be AU standard.

    Hey guys

    Pulled the trigger on two of these, both items delivered fairly quickly but both are missing the powercords from the unit to the wall?

    At least i got the items delivered but not having the powercords is quite frustrating for both items.

    I have raised two tickets now with Gearbest, hopefully they will come back to me quickly with a resolution.

    Anyone else have such an experience? Is there a store rep on this forum I can contact?

      Have you checked the filter compartment? Open up the back cover and have a look.

      I bought mine from Gearbest, received it last week but have not unboxed. When I read your comment I was apprehensive of the same issue, so I waited til I get home to unbox mine and checked. The power cable was right there INSIDE the unit. GB actually opened mine up to put in the AU adapter and another small item I ordered.

      I really can't fault their service.
