Any specials on your higher wattage PSU?

    • I'm flattered, and no.

    • Wow, what are you using it for?

      • Mining most likely

      • Have Vega 64. But want to be future proof.

        • +2

FWIW I'm running a Ryzen 1700 & Vega 64 on a quality 450w SilverStone PSU without any issues. Running Prime95 and a GPU benchmark (i.e. worst case at stock speeds) it pulls around 520w from the wall, which works out to around 440w DC, still within the 24/7 rating for the PSU.

While most people probably wouldn't recommend cutting it that close, my point is a decent 750w PSU should give you oodles of future proofing.

        • @SeeKayDee: Ok! Thanks. No need to upgrade then.

        • Yep and I'm running a ryzen 1600 and Vega 56 on a 400w. Pulls 200w at the wall but has had some tweaking…

  • Thanks, OP. I just happen to need one!

    Cheers

    • So, did I, but I couldn't get one :(

Such a rarity when a product appears on here I actually need…. I'm usually just buying for the short term buzz.

    Review: https://www.hardocp.com/article/2014/09/02/antec_edge_750w_p…

Solid unit based on Seasonic G series platform. Great buy at this price.

  • Probably a price error but worth a try.

  • Way too low in price, making it an excellent deal or soon to be refunded as a pricing error.

  • Never seen this at such a low price. Bad, I bought a semi modular one at a much higher price. Pure Bargain!!

  • +5

Reading that it's a big psu so keep that in mind. "It's larger than most PSUs. Makes it nearly impossible to use in Mini-ATX and Micro ATX cases "

Also, some qc issues (doa, only lasting 2 years).

  • Is Skycomp the new IJK? Address seems to be where the IJK store is?

    • +1

They're pretty much next door to IJK now. I initially thought they had acquired IJK or something too but turns out they just share the same block now.

      • Interesting - thanks for the info!

  • How quiet is this one? Also, would be handy to see some store locations listed

    • Sydney and reviews say very quiet.

  • Great, quiet PSU. I've had one for over a year after paying twice that.

Can't believe there were 800 click-thru's all on the lookout for a new PC PSU!

  • Tried for the past 20 minutes to place an order on my PC and kept timing out, multiple browsers, figured it was getting smashed by OzBargain. Went to the site via my phone (after disconnecting wifi) and got through without any hiccups.

Word of warning - the website appears to be doing some bad things with leaking other customers details and combining orders in progress. In trying to order one, it has me logged in as someone from Roselands, then Barrack Point in Sydney. As much as I'd like one at this price, not sure I want to supply my details…

    • +2

Yeah. I have tried checking out with paypal and through the site itself too, and have come up with other customer details in both of them. Either the site is super unstable or they are doing something dodgy like njr mentioned. Also, the quantity order seems to change all the time when finalising orders.

    • +5

Holy crap. Identity swaps on their webserver! God knows who you end up buying for with that crap going on.

    • +2

This is scary stuff, just checked the orders page on the account it links to and three different people have ordered with this account logged in. This has made their details clearly available. Be careful guys, make sure you aren't logged in to any accounts!

    • +2

OP please remove the session id from your link on your post.

Users are able to login as using your session.

Anything with the SID=….. at the end allows others to impersonate the user's session.

People should not use the link the the post but rather navigate to skycomp and search for the PSU directly.

      • +1

Came here to say exactly this.
The site's form security is null, nothing, nada. I can farm user details if people want anymore proof than my word.

      • +1

Holy Crap.. I didn't even notice. That is quite concerning. What account details were showing? I wasn't even logged in and I don't think that I even have an account with Sky Comp?

  • Holly shit! Great deal.
Note to miners: you can chain several of these using the paperclip trick.

  • High tier in Tom's hardware. But seems everyone is realising these are high quality.

  • I keep getting random multiple items added to my cart and my billing address as chao chen every time I try to check out. double tea eff, m8.

  • Antec power supplies, not to be hesitant with ;p

    They still making cases though?

  • what a crap site, paypal is not allow me to pay for account. wasting time to try it. Give up

    • Keeps adding 5 to my cart, tried on my phone and PC… Giving up also.

  • Finally got it to accept just one unit, and got to the checkout page, and the address is pre filled with someone else's name address and phone number.

If you're from Roselands it's probably you!

I think I might have to let this one slip through the keeper.

edit: tried again, now I'm getting details of another customer (this time from Nabiac).

  • There is a trick to this, the op posted a link that includes his account details, automatically logging in to his account when you follow the provided link.

This is the link striped of the account info, clear your internet cache and try it:
    https://www.skycomp.com.au/antec-edge-750-750w-edge-100-full…

  • She's all over. Just getting a formal 404 page now.

  • Was a lot of hassle to get one, but I managed to do it. They might just end up refunding everyone if this is indeed a price error, but we'll see.

  • it is gone, do n't worry now

  • LOL you guys are crazy for ordering that. Even you know the site is dodgy with others accounts info and shit

    • mine went through fine, just a little slow. I did try to do it through cash rewards though and not the OP's link.

  • Have to say their website is so slow

  • Please tell us here if anyone receives theirs.

  • wtf someone ordered on my account. The website has the worst security.

    • Free PSU!

    • The joy is in the giving.

      • Now I just got this email -"We have received a request to change the following information associated with your account at SKYCOMP TECHNOLOGY: email. If you have not authorized this action, please contact us immediately at [email protected] or call us at 0290112078."

I guess somebody contacted skycomp and got them to change the email address…

    • When I first looked at the deal, I already somehow had 2 already in my cart. Very crappy website.

  • Link is gone.
    Site is very insecure.
If you still need a PSU don't buy the antec edge 650w thats $159 from them.
Not sure if anyone that already ordered realizes new accounts come with 5$ free credit, too late now I guess.. thought I'd point it out though.

EDIT: Looks like they also do their own reviews.
If you check google reviews by 1-2 star rating, very recently theyve had some shitty reviews saying that they never reply and took a very long time to receive, etc.
The 5 star ratings are mostly anonymous and 'clustered' together with 3-4 at the same time every other day.

  • My order status has changed to cancelled.
Guess they found out and gonna cancel everything :\

  • Order has been cancelled.

  • The money went back into my account. Purchased through PayPal, I assume we will get an order cancelled email soon

  • My order was cancelled when I logged into my account. No correspondence, no sorry it was a pricing error we're cancelling your order. Kind of annoyed considering the trouble it took to place an order. Is it worth sending them an email?

  • bugger, cancelled

  • they always cancel

  • On a different note, while not ZOMG CHEAP! I did recently purchase this!

    https://www.umart.com.au/Corsair-550W-TX550M-80-Plus-Gold-Po…

I'm a sucker for Corsair since finding their RAM. I figured this was a good cost effective solution for a good (not awesome) build

    • I really hate it when they can't give you a shipping quote without making a stupid account!

I'm in WA & Austin Computers has it for $119, which I could pick-up.

I imagine the shipping from Umart would be $20+, but will never know because I'm not giving all of my info just to find out it's a ridiculous fee.

      • If you're from WA, PLE is almost always a better choice.

        • Yeah, I do buy from PLE (& MSY)— but in a pinch, Austin in Rockingham is closer & I can drive or have friends commuting past pick it up for me.

          Cheers

  • +1

Dodgy company, dodgy website, dodgy conduct….

  • Awesome power supply! Has been $175 ever since it came out.

  • Is anybody else yet to receive a refund?

I had my order canceled and the transaction disappeared from PayPal that night (not refunded, just not there), but the debited amount is still missing from my bank account.
