This is a $148 tablet. Trying to compare specs with an ipad is nuts.

        • +1

Im not sure you read my comment correctly, i did not compare any specs or anything to this specific tablet.

      • I disagree, lacking USB OTG is a major flaw on the iPad. I love copying stuff to a USB drive (movies, PDFs…etc.) and just being able to view them on the go quickly and seamlessly. Not having file system access is another huge flaw on the iPad. It depends on how you use your devices. The iPad is more like an appliance, Android devices are more like computers.

Wouldn't bother with 1Gb of ram.

      Yep. No bargain here.

    • absolutely!

  • Not really a bargain for an old model.

      Surprisingly, it's a June 2016 release. I'm still using a Nexus 10 which is a lot older.
Then again, it's comparing a Statesman to a Daewoo Lanos …

      • +2

So the Nexus is for a bogan and the Lenovo for a hairdresser.

      • That's a very odd analogy.

        • They both do the same job, but one does so in style and relative luxury. My 11/2012 Nexus is still going strong, has quite adequate sound for the class of device, HDMI port, wireless N. GPS and a 2560 x 1600 resolution. Its Dual-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A15 was one of the fastest around at the time, and sufferers only a little in comparison with today's mid-ranged units.

This unit, not the 2016 Tab 3 I thought it was, has a 1280 x 800 display that is not really that great, a slow processor and looks like something maimed at the market that wants something the kids can use in the back of the car.

        • @terrys:

I think we have different tastes in cars.

@b2dz: LOL. I've had both. One is a car I would look after, the other is a disposable toy.

    • Agreed, in technology terms this is a fossil, most likely useful as an expensive paper weight.

" 1GB RAM to easily handle basic"

For very small values of easy and very large ones of basic.

One of many tablets I've been looking at over the last week. All let down by that measly amount of RAM. If 1 GB ain't enough for a phone to run decently it sure as heck ain't gonna for a tablet.

can't find any decent deals for a tablet with 1.5GB of RAM or more that isn't some random Chinese one from eBay/other dodgy places. Kinda sucks.

    1GB RAM

    Hahahahahahahahahahhaa

  • Usually when comments like these are made about a 1GB laptop it's going for $50

  • +2

if you only use it for non demanding things, it wouldn't be that bad. i have gone back to using my xoom (similar specs… from 2011) as a comic book reader while i look for a replacement of the sp3 i dropped….

Yikes. Please don't give this to anybody. If you're stupid enough to buy this then you deserve suffer the pain of using it yourself. Don't inflict it on anybody else. They will hate technology and probably you too.

  • basic productivity apps*:
    calculator
    google keep

    *not simultaneously

1 gig of ram… "LMFAO" "falls off chair"

    This is 2018! not 1998

    • +1

Which tablets in 1998 had any RAM, let alone 1Gb?

      • In 1998 you only swallowed Tablets

  • +1

Guys what a load of idiotic comments, 1gb is more than enough to run basic apps and simultaneously. Its not pc, its not running windows 10, its running a o/s that was conceived for devices like these, some of you just have v6/8 envy. these run fine web browsing, etc. Just don't be dicks "oh 1 gb got to be rubbish" attitudes. Its not a cinema screen so why is display not adequate. It will display clearly the rubbish you watch online, does not have to be full hd. good you see people squinting looking at their mobiles on the train 5 cms from their noses.

    • "the rubbish you watch online, does not have to be full hd"

Most of what I watch on my devices is FHD and higher, even on-line. Given that this will most likely be bought for younger children and adolescents, they will clearly be able to see a difference between a HD screen and this one, which doesn't even meet that low bar.

      • And these children might actually know the difference between what is HD and what is full HD. 1280x800 resolution is HD (720p). 1920 x 1080 is full HD (1080p). So this is a 720p HD display tablet. So this meets HD screen specification. Not talking about full HD specification.

        • My missing out one letter is a distraction, not a cause for refutation. The clarification was needed tho :-}

  • Got one of these, they are crap, don't bother

  • I know most comments say this is no good, but im just looking for a cheap ~10" android tab i can wall mount for controller for my media centre i.e Kore with Kodi.
