We might as well start boasting about the specs of our toilet paper.

    • +14

Only if you have Xiaomi Toilet paper

    • Let’s start with:

      • none sxxt repellent
      • not reusable
    • +2

Will it come with an app that will let me know if I need more bran in my diet?

    • Xiaomi MiJia Bidet 2.0

  • +3

Definitely should choose "Australia Priority Mail", my order bought on 29th is now trackable via Auspost. It says "shipping information received 02 Jan".

  • +1

    got 1 thank you!
how do you guys normally pay at gearbest.
convert to AUD on the site, and pay AUD.
or pay USD use paypal exchange rate?

    • +1

1- Select USD currency prior to checkout
2- Use a card with fee-free international and currency conversion (e.g. 28 Degrees, Coles Mastercard).

You can use Paypal but don't use Paypal conversion.

      • +3

I'm with ING Direct and i've noticed recently that all of my recent foreign currency purchases through my Orange Visa debit haven't been getting charged any currency conversion fee. I suspect that ING might have dropped the currency conversion fee on accounts with deposit of $1000 or more per month. So it's good news for those with ING.

        • That is good news. I do have an Orange Everyday account.

        • @sky blu:

Yeah my ING Orange Everyday account gets over the $1000 deposit into it per month. I am suspecting that might be getting a perk of no foreign conversion fees now as well as that free ATM withdrawals. But nothing official is just what i've been noticing on my account lately that i made a ton of $USD and GBP purchases from overseas online stores and none of the purchased but hit with the conversion fee like it used to. Even though they show in the transaction history as purchases made from $USD and GBP.

        • @hollykryten: Why have you been using the OE card for overseas purchases knowing it has conversion fee?

        • @sky blu:

Because i don't have a 28 Degrees card or another credit card. Not every one can get it. You put on the credit card application form that you're currently unemployed and it's an immediate knock back.

        • @hollykryten: I see. In that case, have you ever heard of Citibank Plus (debit card).

Read more here and do check out their website. You're welcome :)

        • @sky blu:

I've heard of it but never banked with Citibank. But for what it looks like for what i can tell that ING has dropped the conversion fee (on accounts with $1000+ deposit monthly) so i'll stick with them. No currency conversion fee is good. :)

        • +3

          @hollykryten:

ING Orange Everyday now has zero ATM fees worldwide and zero foreign currency conversion fees. This change occurred in November 2017.

You don’t need a 28Degrees card or Citibank or anything similar.

        • +1

You would’ve gotten an email about it, they officially dropped the conversion fee and increased fee-free ATM withdrawals to worldwide (making it the ultimate travel due to using wholesale VISA rate without added fees) provided you make $1000+ deposits a month (I.e your regular card).

It’s a really good setup with the savings rate too.

        • Yes they advertise this. Also Macquarie Bank seem to also have some sort of international fee free thing going. Its becoming more mainstream as banks realise people buy stuff overseas and they want to lure in those customers.

        • @Chewiebacca:

Yeah i think i did get an email and forgot about it. hah it does happen.

        • @ben1980: That is awesome as, that was the one thing that was annoying me when i switched. Another + for ING.

      • I think CBA cards are international fee free also now?

        • I don't think so

        • They're not. 3% on all foreign transactions.

        • Only CBA AMEX credit cards.

    • -1

Select AUD$. PayPal will charge the amount in AUD$. No conversion.

      • +2

No visible conversion…..but they give you an exchange rate that is far far worse than any bank even with the 3% levied.

It's always cheaper to let your bank do the conversion even without a fee free card. That said PayPal often defaults usd purchases into aud as it's so profitable for them.

      • Yeah sorry mate - look at the conversion rate in PayPal when it offers to convert it. It's not great.

  • I get diff…

    AU$25.27
    Plus
    "Australia Priority Mail" 7 - 15 business days 0.16
    Grand Total AU$25.43

    • Check out with USD next time. See my comment.

      • It's worth checking the Gearbest AUD price. For some reason, unlike all of the other Chinese stores, sometimes it's even better than the wholesale rate.

        • How's that possible?

        • @sky blu: on mobile is at the very bottom of the screen when you scroll down, choose USD or AUD to compare. I'm not on my desktop, but from memory, currency is somewhere near the top of the screen.

    • +1

I also opt for the same option but choose USD and use my ING OE conversion, I ended up with AU$24.54

      • VISA rates are pretty good.

  • +1

Awesome, thanks for the post. Damn lucky to catch this one when I did actually, just thought I'd check OZB before I turn in lol.

  • Is this similar to this ? Myer has it for $24.99.

    • If that's the similar product, can OP try to match the price?

      • I haven't received mine but looking at the Korjo one you linked, I have a strong belief the Xiaomi has better tech and material.

  • Anyone know how large it is when opened?

  • Anyone own this umbrella , does it feel and look premium quality ?

    • I have one. Have used it once in light rain, water repellent coating seemed to work quite well. Automatic closing appears to work well.

I would say that it feels 'premium', but that's in comparison to the umbrellas that I primarily use from this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/197389). All three of them are still going strong.

Few other opinions on this deal for a Blunt Umbrella
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/352219

  • The seiko secret agent will monitor your activities. Apparently it will double your fine if you receive one.

  • did anyone receive this from the last post? comments on quality?
last time I ordered something from gearbest it never came…seems to be a common problem with this lot

    • Last post was (4) days ago…

      • I see…well anyone own this then?
Also anyone received ANYTHING from gearbest?

        • Today I received Xiaomi Soocas toothbrush from GearBest which I ordered 1st week of Dec.

    • +1

I ordered one of these on the 8th of Dec, notified it was shipped on the 10th and it arrived on the 20th with Australia Express.
      Tracking didn’t work.

As for the umbrella it’s only been used once so far and works well, the only fault I would give it is that the handle plastic is slightly lower quality than you’d expect from Xiaomi but that’s trying to find faults.

  • -2

    No deal. No band 28

    • Still comment band 28 in 2018…😳

  • Is the quality of these umbrellas notably better from a $10 job from woolies? I've never spent $25 on an umbrella before.

  • +2

Excellent price for a decent Automatic!

    • +1

      LOL wrong post PJC

      • +1

I accept I need another cup of coffee but … this is an excellent price for a decent Automatic Umbrella.

  • What? I thought Aussies don't use umbrellas -_-

  • +3

Here is a video of this Umbrella in slow motion video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHiXlbxUTv0

Makes it look like you could use this umbrella for self defense.

  • +7

What if you applied rain-x onto a cheap umbrella…. won't it become water repellent too?

    • +9

Congratulations, you have unlocked a new rank!

You current OzB Cheapo Level: 9000

  • +2

I would buy one of these but in reality I have tonnes of umbrellas around the house and car.

Including that pink one that used to belong to my daughter which is always the only one I can find when I really need one.

  • code has expired :(

  • 99rmb in Xiaomi stores in China. Just FYI

  • code expired lol

    • +1

lol, over 500 clicks in 30 minutes.

      Well done Sky

  • Out of codes? Was going through the cart and it kicked me out. Now when I try and apply the code the price goes from $31.92 (aud) to $57.21.

  • +5

Nearly 600 clicks it is safe to say the 70 stock has all been allocated. Should I try to get more now, or are you happy to wait for the price to go lower, if possible? Since it's Summer why do you want to get an umbrella anyway? Are you all in Melbourne lol.

    • Would love some more please (if you can). No rain in Perth, but I am headed to Melbourne in a couple of months and my current umbrella sucks.

    • i am in Melbourne and I need one, even in summer it can rain multiple times in a day ;)

      • +6

Duly noted. Will see what I can do. Thanks for the upvotes.

        • If you do happen to get some more will you be making another deal or updating this one?

        • Yes I’d like to know should I keep refreshing this page every 5 mins for something I don’t need but curiously want or will it be a new post?
Grabbed the google minis last night just cos everyone else was buying them. Same with the eneloopps.

        • @bennybaubles: Depends on the turn-around. I don't have any information at this stage and will post an update here soon as I know. It could be a new post if I could drive the price further down and has past a reasonable time. I have to stick to Ozbargain guidelines.

          Relax, don't keep refreshing lol.

    • By the time Gearbest deliver it, it'll be winter :)

  • +2

    damn, missed it again

  • +3

Perfect. An umbrella, just in time for… nope

  • The Code you entered has expired. Seems I missed out this time.

  • How does it automatically open. Does it run on battery power?. Just thinking Xiaomi and battery power.

  • +1

Come on xiaomi I am expecting the umbrella to automatically wrap it self up

    • And folds down to fit in your pocket. None of this stupid look carrying a wet umbrella around inside Westfield

  • I don't know much about umbrellas, but this one seems similar in features, but just a little heavier:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Modohe-Windproof-Unbreakable-Light…

    $23.99 shipped.

    • +4

Reviews on that umbrella are more than likely fake.

If you look at the sellers other items, they've all coincidentally been reviewed by the same people.

      • +2

Yes you're right! Ok one to avoid then.

  • -6

If you want something good and can last you need to spend around $100.

  • What is automatic about it?

Is there an umbrella that won't invert when windy?

    • +1

Pressing the button when it is open retracts the canopy.

      • Interesting. That isn't something I would want because I think it's less safe than doing it manually. That would require a significant amount more engineering to do I would think.

        • +1

We should all go back in our caves when it rains. Engineering is so 2017.

  • Purchased one yesterday for $37 delivered :(

  • This was full size right?
Can you get us a travel size one please?

    • +1

Here are some marketing photos of the product.

As you can see, the closed length is 34cm. If that is not 'travel' enough, then could you please link me to the Xiaomi Travel Umbrella that is what, 10cm when closed?

      • Bugger missed offer….. Hey en to repeat!

  • Every time, it happens every time with this umbrella 😡 The offer has expired. Dont they want to sell more than 70????

    • +1

yes but not on this price :p

  • +1

pity camel camel camel doesn’t work on gearbest or aliexpress…. would be nice to set a price threshold and be notified.

    • Although this would not include the extra discount coupons we find here

  • how is this automatic?

    • +1

Looks like it opens and closes with the use of a button.

  • +2

I asked in my Xiaomi Wiha post but not many response about the Umbrella.

    • +1

If you can get more they will be snapped up in a twinkling :)

    • +1

Wasn't following that post, but I would be interested in the Umbrella.

The people who missed out on the Wiha in that thread would of course be asking for more though.
