Similar to the Nitecore D4 deal posted yesterday here (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/354452).

This is their newer more premium release of their smart chargers with an output across all batteries of up to 6 Amps. This is the cheapest it has ever been on Ozbargain.

Please note: Order in USD for the lowest price as their AUD price is more expensive.

Does not come with an AU plug so a figure 8 DC plug will needed.

Lygte info's review isn't overly glowing:

but yeah the 1.5 amps for all slots (or 3amps on one) is a good step up for Nitecore.

    • From that review, it looks like it has a bug.

      When charging four AA eneloops, "Display shows: 2061mAh 58mOhm 2:04, 102mAh 53mOhm 2:05, 101mAh 66mOhm 2:06, 100mAh 58mOhm 2:04 Again a problem with capacity display, only the first cell show correctly."

Charges all four AA batteries at 1A average current, which makes it better than the D4 and I4 in that respect (they can only charge four batteries at 375mA, so charging takes ~7 hours for AA eneloops).

It can be set to 300mA, which is good for AAA batteries. The I4 can't do this, the D4 can. The SC4 is more adjustable than both of them, review says "Charge current can be selected from 0.3A to 2A in 0.1A steps."

Seems to under-charge NiMh batteries. The review says AA eneloops are charged to about 1700mAh, AAA eneloops to about 700mAh. Both figures are substantially below the rated capacities of 2000mAh and 800mAh respectively.

    • does Nitecore do revision updates to fix the issues?

      • There's mo way for a customer to get revised firmware into the charger, so I'd guess they don't release firmware updates.

  • I have one of these , and my eneloops are charging fine..

Too many chargers but no battaries. Any deals on actual AA or AAA rechargeable batteries ?
