Not Xiaomi, but if they didn't have a brand name, it'll probably be taken under the Xiaomi range.

  • If Formica had a variety name, it'd probably been taken under the walnut variety.

Xiaomi may look similar - but they are glass

  • +7

I prefer the Decor glass containers, easier to clean when used to store cooked food.

    • +5

      IKEA glass containers forever.

    • +1

Anywhere currently selling glass containers cheaply that will fill about 1L of food?

  • +1

Big W has them cheaper still.

    • +1

I came to comment this. But that deal ended 10th I believe.

  • +17

I won’t neg the deal but this brand is absolute rubbish. The containers are not airtight which resulted in multiple weevil infestations for us until we got rid of all of them.

    • +7

On OzBargainer would say free protein

    • +2

      Agreed, and always half price.

    • +2

Moths manage to lay their eggs into unopened, sealed plastic containers of food. As long as they don't leak water/food out of them I'm happy with the quality.

    • +3

Agreed, filled mine with liquid, and leaked over the car seat. We have Lock&Lock which are way better.

    • @garglebutt
Word for word! They look the business. But the seals are 100% useless. Retired them all to the shed.

We're back to using the 5 y/o cylinder/drum style with screw lids, still fine. Only thing that kills them seems to be (what's always advised) overheating tomato-based (acidic) meals. Permanent damage & staining.

    • I use OXO containers now. Amazing airtight seal.

  • +15

These containers are on special every couple of weeks, artificially overpriced fake RRP,like Swisse vitamins ,and Avr receivers.

its pathetic preying on people by making them think they are getting things at a bargain special price when they are really at normal price

Not a bargain in my opinion

    • +1

Lol - you’ve just described the entire economy ;) outstanding

  • +1 Made in NZ

    • +3

99% made in China and then the final 1% part made in NZ to get the "Made in New Zealand" stamp.
      So, not really.

      • Which part is the 1%?

      • What's not made in China these days?

If it's not China it's prc which is People's Republic of China but everyone still gets fooled

        • It's not only that, it's new Zealand's lax laws that allows companies like this to exploit this loophole so people think they're getting relatively safer stuff, that goes for food esp.

Would you pay a premium for goods from NZ vs PRC?
          Yes

        • -2

My son was conceived and born here so he’s not made in China…

        • +2

@serg3: If you're going to make such a big accusation, I'd suggest you provide some evidence to back it up…

        • @sqeeksqeek:

Cool story, that's you and all the other aussies born here

        • -1

          @callum9999:

Horticulture New Zealand says New Zealand is one of the few countries that does not have mandatory country of origin labelling. "The Aussies care about where their food comes from. So they have laws in place to make sure people get that information. We don't," HortNZ communications manager Leigh Catley said.

She said New Zealand should at least match Australia's policy, which states any food product must identify the country of origin of whatever makes up more than 50 per cent of the total production cost of the product. Some labelling is misleading. Baked beans can be described as "Made in New Zealand", yet the beans are grown overseas and then canned here

          Source: https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/66816307/nz-wont-match-aust…

          Happy?

        • +1

@serg3: so that's for products sold in NZ. If they then import those goods to Australia, they'll be required to meet Australian country of origin labelling laws.

        • +3

          @serg3: Not even close.

          1. Sistema make plastic containers, not food.
          2. The legal minimum isnt necessarily what Sistema follows.
        • +1

@serg3: the reference is interesting, but only mentions food. Do you have a ref to back up your claim re manufactured goods and NZ labelling laws?

  • always out of stock or limited quantities if you order online :(

  • Out of stock in Nunawading, Ringwood and Vermont South

    • +1

I saw it at Doncaster westfield.. And they were actually stocking the shelves.

  • +2

Great containers, and I use them to store mostly non-food items.

    • +1

Me too. Shelves in the garage are looking sharp!

  • +1

When will Sistema start stocking the 60L tubs in Australia again? They were their only decent product!

    • this, I need some good airtight tubs to put printer filament in, have you found anything similar to the Sistema tubs?

      • They aren't really airtight but I use them for storage which does a good job of keeping the bugs out at least.

        • thanks, these are to keep the filament from absorbing any moisture from the air.

        • @quick-dry:

Not sure it'll do that, might want to tape it as well to be safe.

  • +2

50% off every month thereabouts, not a deal
Containers have rubberised seals and don't even seal against an brief inversion. Good for draining pasta (put in, put lid on and tip container on side) .

The square containers with the grey lids do seal but hven't tried them. Only decent ones are the round beetroot drainers and ironically they kinda seal.

  • I do find that the seals on these come off after a while- they can be slotted back in but it's not the same.
