    Are these genuine? :p

    • +1

      hahahaha, Yes

  • +1

    It's christmas already?

    • +4

Not yet, but shipping is so slow it should be here in time for the next one.

      • not if you buy it from Australia haha, it should come in 5-7 days. But Chinese new year is on the horizion (noo!) so it could take some time if its not ordered from china before then

        • It's easy when you change the description, isn't it?

        • @chrism238: I took it out of the title yea, even though it is a perfect gift for Christmas, it does look out of place.

        • +3

          haha

          Haha.

it should come in 5-7 days.

People always make that promise to me but never follow through.

          Please don't be like them.

        • @Scab: The thing about that is its up to Australia post, Auspost give me the ETA and then they do the delivery, but that's the time frame I have found

        • +3

          @phillipdi:

          I knew you were different.

$1.19 AUD Shipped from AliExpress? http://bit.ly/2DyJFMj

Rebadging AliExpress Items doesn't make it a deal.

    • -5

      Do they ship from Australia?
      (No)
Mine would be a dollar more sent form Aus, I'd call that a deal :)

      • +3

But that is still cheaper shipped from China

        • +2

The issue I have with respecting Aliexpress prices is they (Taobao) is on the usa's list of "notorious marketplaces", not that all the ones on there are fake but I tried to get some deals on aliexpress and found most people cancelled and I had to wait weeks for a refund.

        • +5

          @phillipdi:

There are pages of these shipped for $1 from china or 3 bucks shipped from oz on ebay.

Not sure a potential 27 cent saving from the rest of the AliExpress resellers is considered a "bargain" …

        • +7

          @phillipdi:

So your tie clips are not from AliExpress but somehow use the exact same photo?

Also your product description is not correct.

Metal Type: Stainless Steel - That's not stainless steel. The photo you've placed on your website (same as AliExpress) is a nickel/copper alloy that will corrode within a few months. Unless you have a different product then I'd advise to change the photo.

        • -4

@JimJamz: *37 cents yes, but the whole thing is $2.63 so its %14.06
call me crazy but I'd argue that's not bad

        • +1

@Takashi: I have literally used this for around 3 years mate. When I first started selling these in bulk no one on aliexpress had them, it's not me copying aliexpress, its probably aliexpress taking them from the same manufacturer in China who supplied me the photo.

Now unless you have the results from a XRF scanner telling you my ones nickel/copper and will only last a few months I'd advise your wrong.

Possibly the reason why it's cheaper on aliexpress is that its one of those bad nickel/copper ones but mine have literally lasted years and won't last months.

        • +5

@phillipdi: tone it down a little, mate.

Not like he called you "champ"

        • -2

          @Suspect420: Fair enough, "champ"?

        • +9

@phillipdi: That's a coincidence that AliExpress is taking the same photos from the same manufacturer for your other items as well like the cufflinks, the ties, the processors, the phones..

You even have the same watermarked AliExpress Store photo for your Nokia 6310i http://bit.ly/2Dg7jPF

          I like Ozbargain for bargains.

I don't want to see rebadged deals from AE (ecom shop, small profit markup and hope for scale, "discounted price" from messaging these stores) and someone trying to tell me otherwise.

        • -4

@Takashi: mate I'm not sure if your aware but my prices like with the 6310i are cheaper, and google indexes aliexpress, taobao, alibaba.

When a manufacturer comes to me most of the time there's no photos so what we find them using search engines, the tie clip you posted mate was not a water marked photo, SOME of ours have watermarks from various different places, they are Rare/no longer produced items.

Now tell me which tie clip from Aliexpress is sent from Australia? I'm curious
And do they accept paypal? And does it have a reputation for scamming people? And is it on the USA's notorious markets list?

But by all means, some website somewhere with all that going on has some of the photos I use which were pulled off the web, so that make sense

        • +1

          @phillipdi:

Why steal re-fly's images for your Nokia shots then? Or did you accidentally watermark the images on your site with the same store number another ali-store clearly is using?

I think if the descriptions and photos are re-done, it's acceptable. Posting photos from other people's listings - a little untoward.

        • -1

@MorriJ: If you go onto google images for old phones you get what your given, I'm sure you know those nokia's are over a deacade old, there's not many photos of them on the web that are remotely usable, the amount of time it takes to remove a watermark is insane.

        • +2

@phillipdi: way to go. Mock and be cocky to potential customers will surely make your business boom.

Your champ skills need work. Your attitude needs a revamp.

And its amazing that manufacturers for phones approach YOU to sell them. Fairy tales champ.

        • -4

@Suspect420: I mock the mockers if you haven't noticed, I mean I find some of these comments a joke so I treat them like a joke, and you say potential customers, but if your so petty to see a photo with a watermark on some of my listings, then google that watermark, then go on about how another seller half way round the globe uses the same photo's I don't want you as a customer at all, but if your normal dare I say and can look at the deal and say hymm, no one else is selling X item in Australia for this price then great :) (as 20 buyers already have)

        • +1

@phillipdi: I don't understand what you are trying to say.

        • +2

@phillipdi: I don't know about in the past but everyone surely know who you are now. The lost of future sales is, of course, subjective and unquantifiable, but try a Google search of "phillip d tieclip" and you're the first result. Details about your store products and service on that result are all original, no watermarked.

        • @phillipdi: hahha i said what?? Your a douche. We'll leave it at that. Good luck with your business. I personally would never purchase from you now that I see how you treat people. If i was to purchase a decent product and had any warranty issues surely you would enjoy mocking me. No thanks.

Phillip Dick. I now know what the Di stands for.

Who would have thought sinple tie clips, which I was going to buy, would lead to such a debate exposing your foolish arrogant nature. Most here are well educated and work in the professional arena. Your days on OzB are over. If you dare post a "deal" that is not, you will be scrutinised because of your horrible ego. Oh and you were never mocked from my end.

          Bye dick

        • +1

          @Suspect420:

Mock and be cocky to potential customers will surely make your business boom.

Why not, it works for Harvey Norman?

        • @Scab: Hahaha, Donald Trump too. I mean seriously, look at the most powerfull man on the planet

        • @Suspect420: I didn't say You were mocking me mate, Someone made a comment mocking me, I mocked them, you replied saying I should be nicer or something, I said I mock the mockers.

I treat the people here who are joking around like a joke, all of a sudden they don't like it when it happens to them, so be it, I'm not attacking you mate. Notice I haven't insulted you by calling you a dick.

Warranty issues are a different thing entirely, I take them seriously and I have a policy in the FAQ about them, but I don't foresee a warranty issue on a tie clip but if there was I would write it off easiy.

PERFECT Christmas gift? I feel like that feedback from a Dad that didn't want to disappoint his son.
"This is just want I wanted!", only to put it in a drawer forever.

Such a random thing to claim in the title!

    • It was a draft I found from Christmas, I was about to delete it but then I forgot

      • Aww, you changed it, haha.
        Gave me a laugh anyway.

        • I was going to keep it but I realised I made a mistake!
I put perfectly in all caps! And that's against the title guidelines here

        • +4

@phillipdi: It was not a bloody side note. It was in your original title for 2 hours and remains mentioned in your description and of course the product page still exists. So you might as well own it.

      Dastardly charlatans.

  • +5

    Cheaper on eBay and AliExpress

  • +5

Cheaper elsewhere as mentioned by others, also bad attitude from the Rep.
This awesome website is called Ozbargain, not OzfastestshippingfromAustralia.

  • +6

As mentioned by numerous users before this tie clip is not the cheapest available, and just being an Australian vendor doesn’t prove anything but that you have the worst attitude against Chinese companies who sell this significantly cheaper. This community is for bargains, not the cheapest in Australia. I’m not sure if I will to purchase from this store, but one thing for sure is your absolutely ridiculous attitude to people has repelled me from ever purchasing from your store again.

TL;DR Your attitude is appalling, you still ignore the fact that it’s cheaper elsewhere regardless of location and you have lost a future customer

Here is a link to a cheaper product

    • -1

If you want to wait 3 weeks for something that might not come, that only has 4pcs left and by all means be my guest. And what do you mean buy from you again mate? PM Me your order number

      • +1

I am not saying I have purchased from you, I'm stating that if I do decide to purchase a similar item, I will not purchase from you because of such rude attitude towards customers.

        • -1

You mean my rude attitude to people who are joking?
Non of these people attacking the post are customers (obliviously).

So me being rude to them is not being rude to my customers, so far I have had 20 odd customers for the tie clip and there's been no rudeness. I'm rude to my rude critics, so be it, finally a store that won't be PC when it comes to dealing with jokers.

        • +2

@phillipdi: Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Discourtesy to Australia's largest buying community, mate, is not in your interests. You can see what is happening to your credibility here, mate.

  • +8

Phillip, I'm going to offer some genuine, honest, down-to-Earth advice, from what I've read in this deal and comments thus far.

You are pitching this product at a Harvey Norman angle. What I mean is that your target customer for this deal, is one that would think "let's go to Harvey Norman" if they need a new fridge, and don't shop around for a good deal. A customer like that, you'd generate heaps of sales to, as they don't know any better.

However, remember, this is OzBargain. We are all professionals at deals, and can see through a bad deal like a clear pair of glasses.

If you really want to attract the OzBargain community, offer a product that is in high demand here (just look through the history of this year's deals - phones, TVs, powerbanks, etc), offer it to us at the lowest delivered price on the market, and the professionals will come in droves to buy your product. Until then, you're just another retailer offering the same stuff to the masses.

Remember, every time you post a deal here, make sure you take into heed what I've said. Otherwise, be prepared for more backlash.

    Just my 2 paisa.

    • +2

      Lel

    • -2

I appreciate your thoughts mate, I'm not sure if you realise but the one sent from Australia (not the one from China) IS the cheapest on the market.
Now I post deals as they come, there's no magic deal tree where I can just go and "offer it to us at the lowest delivered price on the market", when I find something that is cheaper than all my competitors I post it.

And this is, without a doubt cheaper than all of my competitors. Stay tuned

      • +2

I find humour in your hypocrisy, in stating that your product is the cheapest on the market, yet fails to recognise the masses of online Chinese stores selling for significantly cheaper. There is no such thing as the magic deal tree, as you claim, you as the associate make the deals, you don't wait and compare with other stores.

        • -1

In Australia, if you can't see the value difference between something sent from Australia and something sent from China I can't continue replying too you.

        • +1

@phillipdi: And we won't buy your products.

      • +1

You could create a loss leader for us.

  • +5

    No deal!!!

  • +7

Phillip nobody cares you are shipping it from Australia, it is the same crappy Chinese made tie clip you can get from AliExpress.
