      • it was the phones links … working now though.

  • How long should I expect to wait for delivery of an order placed 5th December on the last deal?

    • it's hard to say, last Dec all shipping company get delayed. some order arrived recently and some still on the way. you can pm me the order number, so i can better check it for you

      • Thank you. I will send my order number.

How about a deal on the shipping for https://www.lightinthebox.com/creality3d-cr-10s-3d-desktop-d…

        Shipping is $158.90.

        • Try gearbest. Shipping for their printers is usually around $33 with a 5-10 shipping time

        • @TheGMan: I was hesitant to buy from Gearbest due to the cost of this item and no of items I have had in the past go missing in transit. Banggood ship the CR-10 (but not the upgraded 10 S) from within Australia so another option there. I'd like to swallow my bargain pride and go with the new Prusa if I can convince my boss to buy it for me.

@BaryGusey: i hear they are a rather nice machine. The reviews are on my watch list for tonight.

I've had 2 3D printers delivered and no issue's. They automatically get full tracking including AusPost.

Funny story with gearbest i bought an Anet A8 as my first printer the heatbed driver on the mainboard died, asked for a replacement mainboard but they have me 2 options… return the whole unit at my expense and they would replace or give me $US50 store credit. Took the credit since that mainboard is only $US24

  • Any deal on Xiaomi A1 64 GB?

    • OOS now and also cost price is rising.

      • Hi rep, can you get the best deal on xiaomi xiafang ip camera please?

        • don't have any deal for now, that item was blocked by xiaomi, can't use on any other place.

      • That's sad, thanks for prompt response though.
Do you think 32 GB with SD card is going to have any issues like slow performance Orr unable to move apps to SD card or any other issue?

I wonder what Barnaby Joyce would have to say about all these Xiaomi deals.

    • Why would he be concerned, apologies for not being much politically aware

You should never listen to what politicians say.

My 5 in 1 Smart Home Security Kit arrived today (ordered on 11 Dec).

Beautifully packed. But everything is in Chinese.
Are the instructions available in English?

    • It's pretty easy to setup, just get the mihome app and add the gateway and follow the prompts.

NOTE: It can only be setup if your location on the app is set to mainland China.

      • My camera won't work =(

        • Make sure to show the camera the QR code that shows on your phone. I was confused by this initially. Just hold the phone in front of the camera and it will babble away happily.
The trick I use for reading all the Chinese instructions is to use the camera mode in Google Translate mobile app to translate live. Works well enough to understand what they mean.

        • @Quarn: Yeah i did that, but says it can't be used outside China or something.

        • @wikiwiki: As mentioned before you have to set the app to use China as the server/location.

I found heaps of youtube videos showing how to set things up that were really useful. Unfortunately, it was a few months ago, so I don't have specific links, but I'm sure that if you watch a couple it'll be fairly straightforward.

    • What's the difference between the non-upgraded and upgraded model?

      • +1

Can anyone answer either or both of these questions?

      • The upgraded model is better.. it's had the upgrades.

        • So this park is the upgraded version. Any idea on how to tell?

The post says don't use or pay in $A. Pay in USD and let your bank do the conversion for the best rate, ideally with one of the credit cards with no forex fees. However, even if you have to pay a 3% fee, its still better than using LITB's conversions. The currency on the LITB website is in the top right.

      • What's the 3% for?

        • 3% fee is the currency spread (usually 6% price difference between buy and sell price for a currency). Also could be an additional fee charged by the bank on top of the currency spread.
Banks rake in from currency conversions.

        • 3% is the standard currency exchange fee if you don't have a card offering no feed like 28 degrees, Citi debit, some CBA Amex, …

  • Some ideas on what to use these sensors for (use cases) please?

    • +1

As a doorbell and front door monitoring.

Currently have the door switch on my front door, with the gateway playing a chime and lighting up when the door opens. Also have my xiaofang cube camera set up to make a recording when the door switch opens. I found the motion detection too sensitive for my place (insects and trees in the breeze mess with lighting levels, triggering motion).

Also have home assistant on a raspi logging the door activations, so I can tell when people arrive/leave.

    • I get notifications on my mobile everytime shed or garage door is opened. Use the hub itself as a night light in the hall

      • How did you do that? Is it built-in feature or has to play around with home assistant etc?
Btw do these sensors work with Google Home?

        • Add a 'scene' for whatever sensor you want. It's "If" open/shut etc "Then" send alert/turn on xxx etc

You can't use Google with Mi Home unfortunately. You would have to set up a home server.

Hi Rep. Any chance of a special price on Mi Robot vac ver1?

    • +1

eBay one from Shopping Square should take it down to early $300 ish. That is with the special promo 20% off, which I believe starts today.

      • Great. Thanks for the heads-up.

        • It's not really 'early' $300 ish .. more to 'mid' $340 ish now but I think still cheaper than RRP if you intend to buy immediately.

  • I'm about to buy redmi 5 plus, just wondering it's showing AUD$232 now, I know it would be around aud$220 if I choose to pay USD, however how can I confirm it will take aud $220 before I hit PAY (PayPal linked 28 degree CC)
    THANKS

    • Make sure your PayPal settings is set to let your bank do the conversion. You can do that when you log into PayPal just before you click confirmed/pay.

    • You can't confirm, your bank will do it after…

  • Thank you. Bought the 5 in 1

    • Arrived today

Redmi 5 Plus is showing at AUD $380.72 — not even close — and the coupon code doesn't work for it (I assume it's only for the security kit). What am I doing wrong?

MIJIA5IN1KIT Coupon has exceeded max usage for home kit :(

  • +3

I went to purchase and it's says the coupon has exceeded max limit. Pretty disappointed. Won't be buying anything from Light in the Box.

  • Is this deal expired? I can't figure out how to order the phones for the price listed and it says the code has exhausted it's limit?

  • +2

Coupon is expired. Missed it again.

    • +3

      Same here 😣

    • I always miss it too :(

  • Does this Xiaomi Mijia 5 in 1 Smart Home Security Kit works hand-in-hand with the Yeelights bulb?

EDIT: it doesn't seem like it work with Yeelights natively? The Yeelights need to be set to Singapore server and the Home Security Kit need to be set on Mainland China server.

So I would like to open the main door and all the Yeelights switched on (and stayed on, until further instruction).

    • Set the lights to China…. Simples

      • I thought Yeelights in Mainland China server wouldn't work and it has to be set to Singapore?

Xiaomi 5 in 1 Smart Home Security Kit -> Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage.

  • Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage… no luck for the Xiaomi 5 in 1 Smart Home Security Kit

    • new code added

  • The last item I ordered from LITB was ordered on 5th Jan and arrived on 15th Jan! Bloody amazing! I can only pray all my orders are like that.

    • Ordered the 5 in 1 Smart Home Security Kit yesterday and got a notification today that it has been shipped. I do hope it arrives within the stipulated time.

  • Can you have more than one gateway in your system? Can it just extend the range?

  • So these are questions I probably should have asked before buying, but does anyone know how well/or if this kit works with Alexa or IFTTT?

    • +1

      Yes works well with IFTT.
Alexa should work with Xiaomi light globes etc, unsure about the sensors.
Xiaomi devices that arent 'sensors' (ie. light sensor, motion sensor, door sensor etc) can work without the hub provided with this but for everything else you will need the hub.

      • Thanks for the info, I have the quasi hub lamp on its way as well, so hopefully between all these things I can get something useful going on. ;)

  • Hi Rep,
Tried to add a few things and come back to the check out page adding the coupon then it came the following message -
"Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage of a single user. You have already used this coupon 1 times."

    • Read the edit carefully ;)

      Try this: MIJIA5IN1

      • Thanks but I have tried both and the second one worked originally however after I closed the webpage and added few other things then it showed up that message

        • check my order page, delete other pending order

  • @MiniInTheBox Is there a code for Xiaomi Mi A1 ? current price doesn't match this post.

    • no code needed, seems sale finished

  • Home security kit comes up as $64.12 for me - free shipping, no insurance.

  • Does the A1 have Oreo yet?

Real shame there's no band 28
