Purchased some Panasonic-Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh battery last deal, and it arrived the next day. Might pick up some more.

  • Damn that's a great price for these batteries. If I needed some would definitely grab them now.

On those chargers, are they 2A output on two batteries? And how's the sleds on them? Looking for a charger with smooth sleds.

    • +1

      Hi
If you need 2A Output, I recommend you use Efest Luc V series chargers.
Some customers told me the sleds of Efest charger are better than Nitecore.

      • Yeah I have the V4 , sleds are garbage on them :(

        • What problem is your V4 charger sleds? As Efest provide 3 years warranty for all Efest chargers.
If it is faulty you can ask for the replacement charger.

By the way, please let me know which charger come with better sleds?
I will pass your feedback to Efest.

        • @TechAroundYou:

Well that's the thing I haven't found one with "good" sleds, they're all quite hard to pull back and kind of hit against the housing of the unit. I've had fake NiteCore D4 that had slightly better sleds, but not by much.

I don't believe it's an issue with the sleds/unit itself, I think that's just how it is, I'm just after one with smooth/easy sleds.

    • Efest Slim K1&K2 chargers only come with USB charging cable(1A each Slot output). It is really good for trips

      • can the K1 and K2 charge rechargable AA as well?

        • Hi
          Sorry, they cannot

  • Nice price on the NCR18650GA's, my favorites … Fasttech are about the same price ($11.38usd for 2) but they cant ship them to Australia anymore, ebay prices are much higher also…

  • 18650 3400mah Panasonic NCR18650B li-ion battery cell 3.6V - Grade A

    I eBay's 6x the above for $42.50

    Pretty good pricing.

Mulitples can b found on eBay cheaper

  • Any deals on protected cells?

Edit: I noticed you call it PCB, no worries found it. Really hanging out for NCR18650GA with a PCB, got too many Protected NCR18650's

    Nice deals BTW

    • Hi
Will import some Protected NCR18650GA and run a deal next month.

      • Any news on this?

    • I looked into this quite a bit a couple of years back, my understanding is the GA's are safer than most 18650's, the chemistry used is very unlikely to light up… They seem to be able to handle a lot of punishment, there's a video around where a guy shorts out different batteries until they fail, the GA's just got warm, they didn't fail catastrophically like most others..

A protection board would be good if you were using them in a situation were they could run totally flat, left unattended or such, but in a torch or regulated ecig at low watts there's no real need IMO…

  • +1

Cheers OP. Was about to AliExpress an order but can't beat local.

    • +3

AliExpress, 90% (or so) of the sellers won't ship LiIon OS, unless its DHL for $72, and the one that do are only a little cheaper then those sellers on eBay.

been thinking of shipping a large qty to UK and picking them up there. A few doggy cells that exploded have ruined it for everyone…

    • Wow already shipped. Talk about service!

  • Can't find ABN on their site.

  • Any LG MJ1?

They are always so difficult to get.

Also, don't know why some sellers label the NCR18650GA as 3500mAh when the datasheet and big suppliers, (and reviewers who get closer to 3400mAh) have it listed as:

    Typical capacity: 3450 mAh
    Minimum capacity: 3350 mAh

    Thanks

    • Sorry, we do not have LG MJ1.
      Will import it soon.

For your second question, I will contact our supplier and pass the answer to you.

      • Don't worry too much, pretty much every seller on AliExpress/eBay and other small qty sites list it as 3500mAh.

Lets see if I need NCR18650GA's. Not a big difference but can call you tell me if you have the cells made in China or Japan. No difference, just curious. Or maybe post the actual picture of your stock vs stock photos as there are some popular fakes floating around the marketplace and sometimes they can be spotted.

Just for fun, a supplier I use in China for a battery packs gets SDI 22PM (2200mAH @ 10A) for ~9.6 Yuan, that's about $1.83 AUD per cell (in qty of 10K)…and that was in 2015…they generally don't share that info out ;-) I remember getting the 2600mAh and the 30E in 2016 for only a little more as a complete 10S2P pack….makes you think just how much profit each party takes…not saying you do, I'm pretty sure you're not ordering 10K cells of each model…just saying!

Another interesting point, it seems that every manufacturer in China always wants to deal with Samsung cells, LG is not as common and Panasonic is almost impossible. Sony on the other seem to other at very small scale factories, best avoided. Doing tear-downs of common 18V,20V and 36V power tools packs the theme continues, Samsung on the cheaper ones LG on the higher quality ones, but this is not always the case. LG's seem to be a little more expensive for similar capacity cells. Strange really. I'm sure it comes down to availability, Samsung cells are everywhere.

        :-)

        • I have check our Panasonic batteries, all of them are made in Japan.

As you may know, all these batteries are OEM batteries.
There was a LG HG2 explosion case in American last year. LG have been stopping to supply OEM batteries to a lot of small companies from then.
It is hard to find LG HG2 battery without warning mark now.
Another reason we choose Samsung not LG, because we sell at least 4000pcs Samsung 25R and 30Q each every month while only sell 1000/2000 pcs LG HE4 and HG2. Take LG HG2 and Samsung 30Q for example, the cost price for HG2 is much higher than Samsung 30Q. However, they have the same performance.

  • +2

So good to have a local retailer who stocks decent batteries are reasonable prices.

  • Thanks ordered a couple of protected Panasonic’s

  • For anyone interested in bigger orders nkon has great prices (~$4.2/cell for 30Qs, huge range of other cells as well). Shipping is a killer for small orders, though.

  • Hey OP, any plans on stocking efest or any other 10440 and 14500's? It's pretty hard to find local stock for these and I think you maybe able to conquer the market if you get these.

    • I will check with Efest. May import some of them soon.

  • -1

was about to purchase thinking a great deal, not really thinking so after looking at ebay.. prices only + a few bucks on ebay for a couple of units, think it can wait now!

  • +1

these are very special batteries? or just same as normal batteries, such as eneloop? so I can use them for normal device, camera, remote controller, etc? thanks.

    • +5

These are 3.7V (4.2 hot off the charger) Lithium rechargeable batteries. They are 18mm diameter and 65mm long. Not compatible with AA size. Eneloops are AA or AAA Nickel metal hydride batteries with a 1.2V nominal voltage. So no you can’t use them where you would use a NiMH battery.
They are commonly used in torches, ecigs, and large battery packs for ebikes. They are also found in Lithium power tool battery packs.

      • Thanks~ :-)

      • Are these batteries low self discharge? Or do they drain while sitting unused?

  • OP - Any 20700 cells available? If so, price /cell thx…

    • Hi Bunsen,
      We have Samsung 21700 48G 4800mah 10A battery, Ijoy 20700 3000mah 40A(5 legs version) and Efest 20700 3000mah 30A batteries in stock.
      Will do promotion next week.

      • Cheers, currently using the iJoys & they seem pretty good running my vape at ~80w…

  • Thanks, grabbed a pair of 30Q’s

    • I bought $10 ones from the seller xero.TV and they look exactly like those. Are those any good?

      • +1

Hard to tell without seeing them. Give me a link and I will have a look. The ones that I bought were original.

        • These https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Panasonic-NCR-18650-B-3400mAh-Flat…

I hope the didnt seller lie about the listing

        • Thanks for the link! Seems very cheap for Panasonic - how did U know they are genuine? Did U test the capacity?

        • @BrodenIt:
          Looks genuine

        • +2

          @Snuffleophegus:
I tested the capacity of mine with a flashlight with a rated output, it has not lost the capacity after numerous charge cycles, also there was no self discharge, so yes, they were genuine.

        • +1

          @Snuffleophegus:
I can't really tell but I don't think they are any better than the ones dlsifey linked

        • @dosifey
I feel so (profanity) ripped off!!!!!:

        • @dosifey:

Why doesn't the seller described stock as genuine?

Had your flash light test has confirmed maH?

I'm interested in a few of these for a good cheap cells project.

Why doesn't the seller described stock as genuine?

        • @chinezejew:
We did test the battery capacity of these batteries.
Our suppliers has Samsung and LG certificates, however, they do not have Sony and Panasonic certificates. The reason is Japanese companies do not issue any certificates for OEM batteries.

As we have been dealing with them for 2 years and have not had any problems.

    • Not local stock.

Good price if genuine Japan Panasonic.

Unfortunately, this item doesn't seem to mention country or brand.

      • +1

Local, non local, what difference does it make? Do you need a local warranty?

        • Apples for apples.
          I'm comparing.

Local vs internation: speed of shipping

Brand value. No branding quoted on the your eBay link.

County of manufacture: Japan vs (not quoted)

Hope to solder these cells in circuit once and have them last as per Panasonic specs.

        • @chinezejew:
well, if you are willing to pay twice the price for the local stock it's your choice. Someone does buy those, right. It's good that there are always people who can not wait, makes market more alive I guess…

        • @dosifey:

The seller on your eBay link should know if genuine. Imo unlikely to be genuine if not quoted by seller.

I'd risk the double cost for 6x not have to resolver everything in place again. Fiddly work…

Hope to place a value on Panasonic for it's quoted lifecycle on their spec tech data.

But… I'm in on your link. Got a small powerbank module qc3 setup in mind. (No soldering)

Thx for the good review on a nice cell

  • Got any chargers which can give you a reading of actual charge capacity of the battery inside?

  • What are these for?

    • Nvm, knew is finds it eventual. Ecigs and larger battery packs. I thought 3.7v sounded familiar, it's on the side of my cordless drill

      • Also used in torches as well.

  • Why are Samsungs sold out already? Are they better than Panasonic?

    • Hi
Samsung 30Q has come back again. We have more than 5000 pcs in stock.
Panasonic is a regular 18650 battery. The capacity is around 3200-3400mah. The discharge rate is around 6A.
In contrast, Samsung 30Q is a high drain battery with 15-20 discharge rate and 3000mah.

      • What's better for led torch?

        • 30q if you have a powerful torch

        • +2

Hi, nfr. Just before you buy this particular battery -

If you have a very high-output torch, especially one with a turbo mode for lumens sufficient to blind a sugar-glider, or koala, in a tree, 2k's away, batteries like this one will allow the highest current draw possible to facilitate that.

For any other still-very-bright torch (or one like that above, used less toastily), a protected cell, which has a little circular PCB under the wrap at the negative terminal, will provide you with an additional layer of safety when both charging, and when discharging.

          Happy campers, above -

  • Bought a couple of these the other week. Great site, quick shopping, arrived in good condition. Recommend.

  • Bought a pair of Panasonic-Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh. I usually vape at below 30W, the extra capacity will definitely help.

  • Will one of these good for Dyson V8 Vacuum stick?
