    Excellent price!

    that's a pretty sweet price

Do these still have the firmware that prevents people from ripping them out and using them in a NAS?

    • Good question, I didn't know of the issue.

Excellent price but I would recommend to buy WD drives (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LQQH86A/ref=twister_B077GCF6VL?…) 5 USD more but better sustainability rate. I don't know why Seagate hard drives are failing faster than before these days.

I'm currently using the WD HDD which is in the link bought from Amazon US.

    • +5 USD + Shipping

Doesn't harm in paying a little more with more reliability but this is OzBargain so you're correct!

    • Like I said in the post I normally go for the WD version that you've pointed out - however it's currently $117.28 USD shipped ($147.66 AUD) on the same conversion as above :)

      • +1

It is actually showing me 109.99 USD before shipping but nonetheless that's why I upvoted you ;)

        • +1

All good :) Just pointing out that this deal is $97.95 + $6.96 Shipping the WD listing is $109.99 + $7.29 Shipping - effectively $12.37 USD more not the $5 you quoted…

Saying that i've picked up a WD one on a previous sale on Amazon for $95.99 which I was very happy about :)

    • That's a referral link.

      EDIT:

      Actually never mind, sorry.

  • Back up plus is dearer.
    What is the difference?

Great price urbancartel. Still think this was a better deal back in Dec https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351998 for that local warranty, hopefully we see these prices again shortly i'm runnin out of room :)

  • 97.95 now. 104 including a case.
    real bargain.

    • +1

You still have to add shipping to that :) Same price…

      • Right, how I miss that.

    • +1

I dare say that was the price to begin with.

  • Will this work as a media player hooked up to a TV via USB?

    • +1

You basically make sure it's formatted to the TV, really easy to do takes about 1 minute. Then store movies / music / photos on it. As long as your TV supports the file types it will all work the charm.

    • +1

That depends entirely on your TV. If your TV supports USB drives for playback and can support 4TB drives, then it should be fine.

  • It is now USD$105.96 including shipping.
    Do I miss a coupon?

    Is it still a bargain?

Is it cheaper to be delivered to a parcel point?

    • Still very cheap and yes I think you can save $1 if you deliver to parcelpoint…haven't done this personally but have seen it mentioned for Amazon purchases
