  • Are these safe? No fire hazard?

hi,snoff is a big brand as u can check this link below:

      http://sonoff.itead.cc/en/

      • Doesnt have a .com so not very big

  • I feel it's safe but not sure NZ AU certified.

The tear down reviews on their gear is generally positive response regarding safety and build quality

    • Not NZ or AU certified but generally found to be safe.

Have two of these - one for each pedestal fan - and they work great with Google Home (connects directly - no server software or bridges needed).

Physical on / off switch comes in handy too.

  • Thanks bought 2! Can someone confirm if this plugs into Au socket?

    • Yes they dio, I own 4 of these

      • Can you suggest some clever ideas to use this? Do you use these with IFTTT and Google Home?

        • +1

You don’t need IFTTT to use these with Google Home anymore. Look for “Smart We Link” under Home Control to connect these with GH

Edit: follow this guide for step by step instructions

        • @OzSikh:
These can be hooked up to IFTTT or MQTT however you have to flash the firmware first. Usually quite easy if you know what you're doing.

        • @K1LL3R12: you don’t have to as they have native support for GH

        • I've reflashed with tasmota using OTA method, so i can use with MQTT.

          Instruction : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONFhXM5R-t4

See my comment on the video, I didn't need to use all his steps.

I've successfully ordered 3, but I am stuck at making a payment. I select PayPal or Visa and select pay now, but nothing happens, nada. I can't progress further to actually pay for the sockets.

    • same problem here.

      • +1

I disabled my adblocks and other extensions and it let me proceed to pay, maybe give that a go

        • +1

Thank you for your suggestion, it worked when I disabled ublock origin.

    • I think the limit is 2

      • limit is 3, says on the website

Beware, 2000W is the advertised rated power. Can't use on some appliances (coffee machines, heaters) that will draw the full 10A current (2400W)

Confirm. Used on old kelvinator aircon and it no longer works.
