hmmm…. buying Sandisk memory cards from a clothes retailer operating out of China…. what could possibly go wrong

    • +6

They're owned by Gearbest so stock should be the same. Anyways, happy Australia day!

Sandisk? How come it's saying Samsung Evo Plus on title? Have they changed it?

Good to hear! Now where's my eneloop!?

  • Are they goodd for a dashcam?

    • +1

Yes, it's one of the more high end SD cards so it should do the job pretty well.

    • works great on my phone, dashcam, action cam…

    • For dash cams I suggest High Endurance cards.
      https://www.carcamcentral.com/guide/recommended-sd-cards-avo…

    • +1

Like RobMel said above - use high endurance cards for dashcams I.e. Transcend/Lexar/Silicon Power.

Avoid SanDisk for dashcams as the rate of failure is extremely high.

      • I'm using this same one in my dashcam no dramas. That said hasn't been very long… I figure if you get the largest capacity your dashcam can handle then its not overwriting as often so should last longer. Pretty impressive specs on this one so should be fine.

  • received email today -

    Hello, altomic

    Great news!

We have shipped out your order L18021307241XXXXX today.

    • arrived today

  • Arrived today. Before opening package I performed the validation check on Samsung China website using translation capabilities of Google Chrome):

    https://support-cn.samsung.com/product_validation/productver…

This site asks for Name; phone; email; and item verification number.

It took me a while to work out that the grey part of the shiny gold laser sticker is to be rubbed off like a scratchie to reveal your product verification number under the grey. On my sticker this had eighteen characters - all numbers - in two rows:-

    XXXXX XXXXX
    XXXX XXXX

I chose to input all eighteen as a single string with no spaces, and received the pop-up verification message (which I had to copy and paste into a separate window/tab at translate.google.com to reveal.)

"Product verification success! Thank you for purchasing genuine Samsung products."

So, pretty sure this is legit given I had received a fail message when I tried to enter just the printed black number visible before scratching and when I input the generic holographic number: 4006378315

  • Arrived today. Thanks op
