I believe points will stack with multiple card purchases, but will leave discussion to the experts.

Also appears you can stack these gift cards with eBay promo codes here and here. Enjoy :)

        • @SaberX:

You nearly have answered your own questions.

I personally use entertainment book. Turn around time is about 4hours from time of purchase.

Cashrewards turnaround time had varied in my experience. I haven't used them for woolies egifts for 24mnths+

        • @SaberX:

          1. Yup. Same same. Yup

          2. Yup.

          3. Nothing special. Just click through from Velocity to eBay website. (Yes u assume right)

Note: different to flybuys linking (capped)

        • @chinezejew:

Seems both ent card and cashrewards go back to the everydaygiftcard website by woolies anyway. So either way turnaround times alot longer. Its been a whole day no luck getting mine so no card yet. Just worried the gift carda will all disappear. Hooefully not!

        • don't forget you get points for using credit cards like amex to buy the egiftcard…lol

        • @SaberX:

          Did you get tax invoice?
          Email the contact of everydaygiftgards.
          Quite transaction/ invoice number.
They'll email it over to you.

        • @chinezejew:

I got an ordee confirmation email pretty quickly automated with the order details and all. Saying up to typically 48 hours to process and awaiting confirmation of money being cleared and all hmmm. Is it too early to chase up then?

Dont know how the other guy here ordered and gor his within the 4 hrs… :(

        • @SaberX:

          Try chase.
          4hours is usual case.
          They respond pretty quick

        • @chinezejew:

Emailed. Local store today had none left so might be pointless. Stuck with 200 in gift card now haha

Abit silly though how you have to buy 10 x cards. I mean how many stores have more than 20 at once? Told reordering tskes 2 weeks or so as it comes from eastern states.

So if your WA based probably best saving your time

        • @chinezejew:
finally got it this morning… somehow found the last 2 gift cards. looks like WA is dry, haha i did try my luck and ordered some more woolies cards… not sure if i'll use them as i can't find ebay cards, but at least i acn buy other gift cards if need be.

They gave the excuse that i was a new customer and card so took longer to verify my detials, don't know what other verifications they need to do given I put in all the card details - so surely it's standard? I rang to escalate my second egift card purchase this afternoon and they said it may be done tonight or tomorrow morning latest, so if that's possible it may be alot faster than the first time around…

now to work out what to get off ebay this year.

    • +3

Don't forget you can get flybuy points if you have your ebay account and flybuys linked lmao

      • +2

Yea also cashrewards cashback on purchases using the gift cards

        • +2

          True ozbargain spirit! :D

        • Just waiting for the person to buy 10 and let us know if they got 2000 points or 20000

        • @swiftty-13:

          it's only 1000 point per card, or 10,000 .

        • @SaberX: yes it's 1000 points per $50 card, but it will be 2000 points for $100 cards so 20,000 is possible.

        • Cashrewards site states that you may not get cashback for transactions made using gift cards or eBay credit ? Haven't checked Velocity or Qantas though…

        • @Member 0230:

It's a $50 ebay gift card though. Max 10. So that's 1000 points or 10,000? Otherwise you could possibly do 30,000 or even 40,000.

Unless you want to try for more than 10 cards and hope the rewards work but the ad specifically say no more than 10 cards per customer. So most likely their rewards card will register once you hit 10. Worth "trying" if you can easily use the ebay gift cards.

Edit. My bad. The ad shpws ebay cards under the $50 side. On the $100 side i assumed endota and freedom only but in the fine print it does mention ebay. So $100 ebay cards would allow 20 000 woolies.

1000 woolies is 5 bucks groceries equivalent discount?? So 100 bucks off groceries or 20 x 870 qantas points?? Are woolies conversion to qantas points worth it???

I mean to get 8700 qantas points for 20 000 woolies your spending 1000 dollars to buu gift cards. Its 8.7 points to a dollar which is far better than everday but compared to taking out a new credit card and paying 400 dollars annual fees and getting 50 -100k bonus points depending on the bank????

        • @SaberX: perfectly okay, I thought I misread it. welcome to humanity, I'm a card-carrying member 😊

I'm unsure of the value re QFF conversion vs $100 in groceries, but I guess if you fly a lot it could be worth it — maybe ask the guy behind https://www.pointhacks.com.au I'd be interested to know too.

        • @SaberX:

Tuvs is our friendly ozB man for the job.
1c per point is the rate.
Velocity or Qantas he will take.

IE $400 fee for 100k points is $600 profit. Close, wait 6months and ur eligible again for bonus point with same financial institution.

$10 in items I would purchase anyway from woolies is a tad better than gaining $8.7 in cash from conversion.

          And….
Best to buy gift cards one at a time with auto $10 redeem activated at woolies.

        • @Member 0230:

no worries. yeah i think this all solely hinges on whether you'll be using points to fly or not hmmm. I'm yet to fully peruse and understand point hacks haha. it hink i'm only starting my way on accumulating points becuase of the impending honeymoons. but that aside i can't be bothered with scrounging for some points here and there, apart from easy ones like coles flybuys and all the bonus points for buying $100 eftpos cards etc. this ebay one is good.

I'm wondering if you can buy something off ebay from a reputable store like myers and return it?? Abit shifty.. but not illegal? hmmm would you get they money back probably on ebay gift cards - to stop people cycling cash like this?

        • @chinezejew:

True… $8.70 in conversion vs $10 in groceries, but if you plan on accumulating FF points for an occasion where flights can give (I'm a newbie, never done it) i believe 2 or 3 c per dollar it might balloon out.

Of course if your purposely spending on flights to go on one it isn't worth it, but good for the 'honeymoon' which is why i'm doing it. then back to the 'economy' as business just isnt' worth it to me. i guess im just not fussed flying economy to save some money and not spend more than what i feel i need (business luxury).

I think i saw tuvs. i dontk now how he buys it though as i thought it would get you disqualified.. and they'd see all his transfers/accounts always… but guess it msust work? does he onsell? or does he jsut like to use it to fly alot himself on business class etc?

        • @SaberX:

          Omg.
          Chill.
          Slow down.

Economy fares with point??? Try it and see. You won't get 1c per point. (More like 0.5 0.6c)

Sell points to tuv. Buy your honeymoon fare. (Wayyy more bang for points this way)

4c per point when u use them to upgrade your economy fare to business.

        • @chinezejew:

Hmm ill haveto put some examples into online searches but with qantas ff theyvr always mentionef 1c per qantas points value to earn. And redemption being 2c and above when using on flights.

I would've figured velocity would be similar?

  • good.
    will buy 10

  • +7

Below was the info I had for when I posted this deal too early. May help some people as most info is there.

To get 14.5 % off first buy 5% off WISH gift cards from cashrewards.com.au. 10% off * 5% off
Stack it with a 20% ebay code and you will only pay $68.40 for $100 (.8.9*.95), if my math is correct.

Key things to note, ebay gift cards have a "promo code" which you enter when you go to pay. A maximum 8 promo codes can be used per order. You are able to use ebay promo code + gift card but can't exceed 8. So max would be $700 + ebay promo code (unless woolworth stock $200 ones).

    https://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/redeem-ebay-gift-cards#faq

Here are a few things to check if your eBay Gift Card isn't accepted:

Make sure that you have an eBay account registered in Australia and an Australian postal address.

If you used your eBay Gift Card once before, make sure you're using the same eBay account as your previous purchase.

Make sure there's money on your eBay Gift Card by checking your gift card balance.

Make sure your eBay Gift Card has not expired.

Make sure you are not exceeding the Gift Card time and threshold redemption limits.

Only eight (8) incentive codes can be accepted per check-out transaction. These codes include eBay Gift Cards and coupons.

An eBay Gift Card may not be used to purchase other eBay Gift Cards, third party gift cards, gift certificates, coupons, coins, paper money, virtual currency or items generally considered to be "bullion" (for example, gold, silver, and other precious metals in the form of coins, bars, or ingots). If you have any of these items in your cart when you're checking out, an eBay Gift Card cannot be applied.

      Is it this 20% stackable??

Which 20% code stacked with gift cards?

      • +2

7 gift cards + any ebay promo code works per transaction. The gift cards are like "promo codes" and you can't use more than 8 per transaction. So any code + 7 cards.

Can all these codes be used with gift cards??

I'm kinda itchy for a laptop!!!

    • +1

Can you buy ebay card with WISH gift card? I am not sure the system will let you do it. I have no luck when purcashing gift card with gift card

      • I used to do it last year through self checkout machines.

  • +1

Frustratingly, I'm unable to purchase any Woolworths e-gift cards. It's declining the transaction on multiple cards and at multiple values. I must have flagged in their fraud system.

    • did u use cashrewards link?
Or try ur wife/husband/friends' card see if it works?

      • +1

Yep, used the cash rewards link. Tried my wife's card to. I emailed Woolworths and they got back immediately telling me to delete any saved cards that may be expired so i deleted all of thhem but it still didn't work.

        • +2

Give 'verification ream' a call. They're pretty helpful.

    • +1

I had this same problem for weeks. I tried multiple email addresses, multiple cards, multiple browsers. The lot was blocked. In the end I contacted their support and they unblocked my main account. Problem solved and purchasing again like a champ. Send em an email. They'll sort it.

    • i Cant buy with my visa debit cards it wont let me so i put the money onto my coles reloadable mastercard and no problems.

      • lol the irony of using a coles card to buy woolies gift card

        • Yeah never thought of that lol

  • Can you buy a woolworths giftcard on ebay with one of these cards?

    • +2

An eBay Gift Card may not be used to purchase other eBay Gift Cards, third party gift cards, gift certificates, coupons, coins, paper money, virtual currency or items generally considered to be "bullion" (for example, gold, silver, and other precious metals in the form of coins, bars, or ingots). If you have any of these items in your cart when you're checking out, an eBay Gift Card cannot be applied.

      Emphasis is mine.

So no, you can't buy Woolworths Gift Cards using eBay Gift Cards.

      • +1

Yeah but heaps of sellers put them in the wrong catagory.

  • +5

    Baware, fellow Ozbargainers.

eBay gift cards have some caveats.

When your eBay purchase is cancelled, the gift card money is gone.
I purchased one android TV Box with eBay gift cards. Seller cancelled my order due to out of stock.
The $150 paid by gift cards was not refunded.
Paypal claimed the money went back to eBay.
I got transferred to multiple eBay departments for the money.
It still has been refunded to this day after four weeks.

When you stack more than seven of them, there would be various error messages.

Remaining balance of the gift card is locked eBay account when it was first used.

    • +1

that's not right. have a chat with your state consumer affairs dept. or if they're not helpful have a chat with the ACCC.

I think this would fall under the Unconscionable conduct clause, basically they(ebay) have taken your money, but have not provided you with the goods.
      https://www.accc.gov.au/business/anti-competitive-behaviour/…

  • Does Woolies have an ebay site I can buy groceries from? Coles?

    • No groceries.

Woolworths occasionally sells discounted ($180 voucher for $150) vouchers in its ebay site but you can't use this ebay gift cards to buy vouchers.

  • I got 2 questions

Should I buy 8x100 from woolworths checkout in 1 transaction or multi transactions?

Even if woolie sell 200 gift card, buy 200 gift card possibly only getting credit for 100 gift card isn't it?

    • There's no $200 eBay Gift Card.

Even if there was, you wouldn't get any Rewards points, as the promo doesn't specify this denomination.

      • I only ask as someone mention previously regarding 200 denomination.

        • +1

No 200 denominations. Your total cart on self checkout should be less than $500, e.g. 4x$100 ebay cards, otherwise all kinds of alarms go off and you probably won't be able to use wish egift cards to pay.

        • @wdmhbbbwctcdlbc: so, best luck is 4+4+2 in 3 transactions

      • pay them seperately to maximise the fuel voucher

  • Samsung Galaxy S8 64GB Midnight Black $799.20 (C&C) + Delivery @ Bing Lee eBay

can I buy above deal with 8 vouchers to get 80 $ off ?

    • PUPIL expires tonight
You can't gain this posts advantage until Wednesday when Woolies are open for business.

  • Checked Weekly Specials Catalogue QLD for 13 Jan to 6 Feb but couldn't see this deal?

    • +1

It's here in the QLD cat.

  • I'm wondering what sort of essentials people buy on ebay to warrant such a purchase of 10x$100 ebay gift cards?
I don't think i spent more than $100 over last year so if this has a short expiry date it's gonna be wasted for me.

    • phones cost 1k

    • Normally how long is the expiry date for a newly purchased eBay gift card? Should be at least 1 year?

      • heard on the radio NSW will implement min of 3 years but it will be phased in so yeah probably these are 1 year

    • DMC 21" SELF PROPELLED LAWN MOWER 5.5hp HONDA GXV160 Engine. $999

  • so with the ebay cards can you use part of the $100 value or have to use all of it.

    • Read other people’s comments.

  • -1

Can ebay gift card be used to purchase jbhifi or other gift cards available at ebay. Has anyone tried?

    • Not tried but dint think so. Ebay is pretty good in enforcing their rules (its against one of their rules)

  • +2

Anyone know how long the expiry for ebay gift cards?

    • +1

when i buy them in coles they were a standard 12 months. like most cards.

    • +4

I bought some a couple days ago. On the back it says: "This card expires 12 months after the date of issue."

  • Ah damn bought $400 in eBay gift cards from Woolies just a couple days ago for the SCA 20% off sale. I might contact Woolworths to see if they'll give me some goodwill and will let you all know how it goes.

    • +2

Why did you just randomly neg the deal? You didn't seem to provide any issue with it?

      • Sorry I must have misclicked and I can't seem to change it back.

        • +1

No worries, go here and click revoke at the top.

        • @doweyy: Done, thanks. As for my original ent I got in touch with Woolies live chat and no dice. I'll try calling them as well but they didn't seem sympathetic to goodwill credits.

  • Does anyone know how long it takes to get the 1000 bonus points? I'm thinking of opting in for the qantas conversion thing - 1000 free bonus points by opting in for qantas conversion for woolies rewards. you have to do it by 7 feb… and the next conversions 15 march.

only have 1,542 points and no way i'd shop 450 worth of points. So i'm thinking of getting this ebay card … and hopefully getting the 1,000 bonus points within the week or two? Do they usually pay the bonus that quick?

assume it'd then be worth it as you're stacking 870 qantas points for 2000 woolies reward points plus another 1000 free qantas. Courtesy in part to the 1,000 bonus points as part of this deal. seems fair?

  • Be curious to see who is buying several gift cards in one transaction. Or are you all going to split it a single gift card per transaction to be safe?

I know it says limit of 10 ebay gift cards per customer but I can't help but wonder as it's abit ambiguous if each gift card gives you 1,000 bonus points, so 10,000 bonus points each. I mean sure… common sense prevails, but i still prefer a clear cut t & c to fall back on rather than plain english and common sense.

Then again I wouldn't bother wiht 1,000 of ebay gift cards, so I would probably be conservative to ensure I don't waste money on ebay just to use them up come near expirey.

  • Apologies for the noob question but can someone please run me through how this works? I want to use 5 cards (5x100) to get $50 off the Allphones 20% off deal.

Do I just go to coles and buy 5 cards for $500 and then they effectively load $550 worth of credit onto it? And then when I go to my ebay purchase, I simply use the PARCEL20 code as well as the code on the ebay card?

As I am buying 5 cards, is there 5 separate gift card codes I must use?

    Any help appreciated.

    • You can go to Coles, but this deal is for Woolworths…

Use the gift cards to pay for the eBay goods, eg: $630 item - 20% = $504, pay with 5x$100 gift cards and $4 dolaroos. The rewards points you get from Woolworths come off your next grocery shop with them.

      • Wait, so I'm confused and I think I may have misunderstood this deal. So the rewards points cannot be spent on E-bay purchases?

For example, buying 5x$100 cards gets you $500 worth of 'credit' and 2000 points to be spent only at Woolies only?

I thought buying $500 worth of ebay cards transfers to $550, which could then be spent in ebay.

    • +2

When you buy 5 cards, WW gives you $50 worth of points. You can use it for future groceries. If you are smart, you could buy 4 and then use $40 points towards your fifth card purchase. You would still have $10 worth of points in your Rewards card after purchasing the 5th eBay card.

Double check eBay terms for PARCEL20 to see if you can get 20% with using eBay cards as you may need to use PayPal for the discount (I'm not sure)?

      • Thanks mate, this makes sense. I clearly had the incorrect impression of this deal.

  • +2

Many redemption codes require you to use paypal for payment. Does it mean you can't stack this type of redemption codes with this eBay giftcard?

    • Valid q - i'd lije to know too given the ebay discount codes are substantial

    • Has anyone confirmed if they've used the ebay discount code i.e. 20% off and managed to pay with your ebay gift cards as opposed to paypal??

      • That's what I tried and worked couple of days ago: stacked a 10% discount code that requires paypal payment with a couple eBay giftcards. However the discounted amount is a few dollars more than the giftcards. I chose Paypal as payment method and paypal just charged the short fall. Payment for all the items in my transaction were confirmed and they had been sent out.

Not sure what happen if the giftcard has value more than the discounted transaction amount.

  • Is buying new phone from ebay usually cheaper than other sources (if there is a sale on)?
    Which shops are recommended?

Other than for buying new phone within 12 months (of the card expiry), not sure what else to use the ebay gift card for..
What are you going to use it for, fellow ozbargainers?

    • qd_au on ebay is pretty cheap for phones and they are pretty reliable. I'm also planning on using to buy stuff from supercheap auto like engine oil

  • Can someone confirm if this would work ?

Buy Woolworths $100 wish gift card for $95, use wish card to

    Buy $100 ebay gift card $100 = $10 woolies credit .

Use pick5 code on ebay 5% discount .

So all up around 20% discount ? ..

    • That's my plan! I'll let you know tomorrow arvo if it works…

      • wouldn't woolies register refuse to sell you the ebay gift card with wishgift card payment?

according to woolies giftcard website —— they say only the essential card / groceries only card are restricted from buying gift cards, I am really confused now

Gift Cards and eGift Cards cannot be used to make credit card payments or other transaction account deposits.

Gift Cards and eGift Cards cannot be used to load funds onto a Woolworths Money Prepaid MasterCard or a Woolworths Money Re-loadable Prepaid MasterCard.

Gift Cards and eGift Cards are non-refundable following the loading of funds onto the Card. Gift Cards and eGift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash. Cash cannot be withdrawn from the available balance of a Gift Card or eGift Card.

        • Read https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/5582696/redir onwards, it should still work… I might just buy some groceries at the same time to make it less suspect.
