Bugger, I was hoping to avoid any imperial entanglements

Looks like these overlap, what would be the kits to buy if you start from nothing and just want occasional bits?

    You've done it again BA

  • Looks like a good deal. Any idea what the non-reduced price is?

    • +1

Had a quick look on price hipster and it seems this may just be the regular price.

I don't know nothing really matches my needs. I am more after a 129 piece drilling and driving set.

  • I'm just after some to drill thru rendered brick/masonry for hooks, frames etc. which set should I be looking at? Cheers in advance

    • None of these kits are suitable for drilling masonry.

Not a reason to down vote the deal?

A bit of research will reveal this is not a bargain price.

It depends on how much masonry drilling you see yourself doing in future, but if you think it will be few and far between my suggestion would be that you choose first your wall hook, then choose a wall plug that will fit that shank and then choose a single bit that will fit that plug. That way you need only buy a single masonry bit rather than a pack, when you might end up never using 70% of the pack at all.

      That’s what I’d do anyway.

Its always the same price, its not a bargain.

      Thanks for the conclusion.

  • Depending on the quality, regardless of whether this is specifically a sale price, I don’t think these are too bad value personally. The drill bit set is reasonable value, depending on how robust each bit is. Also, there is a stupid amount of bits in those packs for the money. Of course it depends largely on the quality, but for most folk this is suitable rather than buying a more expensive set simply because it’s better quality. A lot of the time you may only use a specialised bit once or twice but in those instances you still actually need the bit, but don’t need something that is heavier duty or more robust.

Sometimes Bunnies will do a promo and though the prices of the goods don’t actually change they’re still good value nonetheless. EG; Bunnings occasionally do an Irwin Vice Grip set for $50, which is phenomenal value but they don’t put them on sale, they just run the promo.

    That’s my 2c anyway.
