  • Probably let people know it’s an XB1S.

    • +4

We will be dreaming if it's XB1X~

      • Could have just been an XB1…

        • Highest unlikely as most places have probably finished their stock and there's none in production.

  • +3

Thanks Trent. I wonder if this stacks?

    • It will :)

      • +1

I thought the 10% back in gift cards was only on selected products & they seem to be clearly marked on the HN website. This XB1S deal isn't. I'm happy to be wrong.

        • I went to HN in Nunawading Vic. Was informed no 10% HN gift cards on consoles, Apple products & a few other exceptions.

        • @sinners007:

Same was told not on consoles. Still bought but not sure if bullshit or not. Guy tried to charge me $399 so i wouldnt put it past him :/

  • Anyone have any luck getting JB to match this? I have a $200 giftcard burning a hole in my wallet…

    • +1

will be easier for you to swap your JB with equivalent HN gift card by creating such request in classifieds

  • After a xb1 but don't care about bf1, gold, gift card or TV tuner. Just want it for bluray and kodi. Hopefully this signifies the start of some more good deals.

    • +2

buy the deal and sell the rest of unwanted stuff on gumtree

    • +1

Dont forget vlc player too !!

    • +3

is kodi now working on xb?

      • Yes but not many addons working at the moment and sometimes doesn't quit the app correctly and I need to powercycle restart xbox. Still in Alpha version but happy with it though.

    • Wonder if it's physical copy?

      • Says digital download.

    • +1

Yes hoping for a great PS4 bundle deal myself. I decided I want one much too late, should have got the awesome $350 bundle around boxing day!

      • +1

Yep, I’m kicking myself for not jumping on the $268 deal from Sony.

        Hopefully it’ll iswing around again.

        • +1

The $285 with an extra controller (two in total) and a PS4 remote (which I'm sure most promptly sold) was the best IMO. Absolute bargain. JB had some good deals last year.

        • @fookos:

          Now I feel really bad!

          @sillywalks:

Sorry mate. I'm sure there will be other solid deals as the year tracks along.

I purchased mainly to play Uncharted 4 as I'm a bit of a fan of the series having played the others on PS3. Couldn't resist the console at that price even if adding another console to the home…

Was this deal here, less another five percent with coupon - ~$284…

        • @fookos:

Time to start saving before the next big sale.

  • Good of them to chuck in the TV Tuner, few reports suggest it's gone up S..Creek and no longer supported. Solid deal otherwise!

    • I threw mine away from performance and static issues

    • I use the TV Tuner everyday. Works fine enough but you don’t have the features of Freeview. Just the basic TV guide. No problems with channels or static.

      • Good to know @Ashman247, might give mine a whirl again!

  • +2

TV tuner can be had cheaply online, because it's not good for much. I think it'll let you stream live digital TV to your iPad while at home, which is kinda cool. Neverknow when you might want to do that.

    • its $28 for a new one at EBgames

      • +3

        I think I paid $10 from ozgameshop.

    • You can watch live TV on your Xbox too. The streaming is a nice bonus, but limited. Overall, happily works with my set up as we also use Netflix and other entertainment apps on the Xbox.

    • Yes - good feature. I don't use it much but handy if you want to play a game but keep tabs on some sport or something with an iPad propped up next to you.

  • Any good deals on the Xbox One X ?

    • Leave it till Christmas and it will be $399 when on sale……or your other option 2nd hand gumtree.

Just another …..x box with …..no new interesting/exclusive games.

      • Life is too short to go 11 months longer without Xbox One X.

      • Leave it till Christmas 2019 and it'll be cheaper yet!

      • I'm waiting till Christmas 2020 when PS5 comes out, then will maybe purchase.

    • +1

Try second hand market, many are selling them due to probably lack of interest or the expensive price of console.
I've seen them as low as $400 just for console and around the $500-$600 for console and a few extras (games or controllers or other stuff).
Gumtree/eBay/Facebook market are you best friends.
Just make sure you get receipt for warranty and if you can box for resale value.

      Good luck

Not a bad deal. I got my Xbox One S in December 2016 from target for $279 which came with a free game. I chose Tomb Raider.

  • +1

Still some Xbox One S being sold in Aldi stores. Prices range from $229 to $269 with Forza Horizon 3 and Hot wheels DLC. Got one 2 weeks ago for $249. I guess this deal is ok if you want the game/remote/tuner. Or you as mentioned before, sell them off :)

    • I picked up that bundle last week for $199 from Aldi. If you can find stock, it’s a steal.

      • i also got one for 199 … ask them to call around the other aldis in the area.

      • I can find plenty of stock around Brisbane at $289. Haven't seen one store with the price discounted.

        • Picked mine up from Garden City, not sure where else there might be stock though.

        • @Ashman247:

3 stores with stock near me (just checked), but none are budging from $289. It's a PIA having to drive around and check. Wish you could just call them.

        • +1

          @jimbler:

Does Aldi pricematch other Aldi stores? If so, I might be able to send you a copy of my receipt.

        • @Ashman247:

It's ok. I just bought one of these. Got tired of waiting for the local stores.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/361033

        • @jimbler:

Awesome! Great price! If I needed 1TB of storage, I'd be kicking myself for not getting that! Enjoy.

    • Got the last one from Camberwell Aldi for $229. Been eyeing it for a few weeks at $279 but finally dropped the price. Apparently the disciunted price is managers discretion.

  • if anyone gets this and doesnt want bf1 let me know :)

    • hey mate, just bought it but already have bf1 on PC :) interested in on selling it!

      • hmm i have it on PC too :\ but wouldn't mind it on the xbox. seem to be a bunch between $20 - $30 on ebay - would you take $20?

        • would be happy with $20, how'd you want to do it?

        • @gamblor80:
          send us a message :)

  • does anyone know how the TV tuner works? I've recently run into the problem of a tv not being next to a ariel tv plug. Read online some people suggesting to get a xbox to solve it.

    • +1

Won't help you then - runs off the coax (need an antenna).

      • Yep. Works exactly like other TV tuners.

    • +1

Google "Digital TV sender". Its a device that takes signal from an aerial socket and wirelessly sends it to a tv in another room.
