  • Cracking deal!!!! Paid around $1250 during Good Guys most recent concierge sales.

  • what's the difference between built-under, standalone and built-in? Have a spot for a dishwasher under bench. I assume that stand alone will be ok if it fits?

    • -1

Yes. You want standalone, slot into spoke and hook up
Built in is custom cabinets, someone's with custom front

      • When using your own cabinetry door it is called Fully Integrated, not sure if the built in is different

    • built-under he other is screwed into the sides and is as high up as cabinets and looks more in line with your kitchen. Intergated goes that extra with using a door panel to hide it away
this just slides in and looks like a dishwasher

  • Yeah, very good deal indeed. Don't think TGG removed these from ebay sale, it was rather due to their price cycle. Yesterday when I was doing search on their eBay store non of the Bosch dishwasher showed up so they must have taken them down to due a revision to be in line with their website pricing.

    • +1

Could be a coincidence, but I've had this model and others in my eBay cart for over 6 months, and only the series 8 became unavailable on eBay during sales

      • Yep. I've been looking at this for a while too. TGG always removed these when ebay has a sale. Don't hesitate if you plan on getting one.

What is needed to install one of these?

I have one cold water and one hot water pipe (about 15mm in diameter) coming from underneath my sink. Is it possible to install a Y shaped splitter for the cold water pipe (one pipe for the dishwasher and one for the cold water tap)? I also have a S bend drainage pipe connected to my sink.

    • I had a newish kitchen so all the plumbing and electrical were already there. The only thing I needed was to get a holesaw to drill a bigger hole through cupboards.

    • If you've got a spot under the bench, you'll be able to connect it up one way or another.
Our problem was that we would have needed to take a cupboard out front under our bench. Apparently there was no easy way to do this without also trashing the cupboards on either side. Our solution was an omega benchtop washer - great unit even though only half the size of a normal dishwasher and we can't use the kitchen tap when is running. Not ideal, but definitely much better than doing everything by hand until we're ready for more major kitchen renovations.

    • Needed a splitter tap from Bunnings, should technically have a switch off valve ( ask Bunnings for what tap you need)

You also either need to connect to existing drainage our as a extra section that takes dishwasher outlet

Pretty easy, it's only water give it a try

    • +1

Yes, you can attach to existing drain, but be sure to snake the dishwasher waste hose up above the height of the sink plug hole. Otherwise you run the risk of back flow and cross contamination. Also attach the dishwasher hose above the s bend or you will get sewer gasses in your dishes.

  • Goddammit. I just bought one a few weeks ago during their last sale (paid about $100 more). Easily the best and quietest dish washer I've used. Worth the additional price over their other units.

This is made in Germany (unlike Turkey for their cheaper models) and has a stainless steel inner part (some plastic material for the cheaper models).

  • Can someone clarify this promotion for me? It seems to apply to all the dishwashers mentioned above?

    https://boschpromotion.com.au/Dishwasher/PersonalDetails

    Edit:

It applies to 'Bosch Series 6 and Series 8 built-under, semi and fully integrated dishwasher.' The fist two models above are 'free standing'. Integrated models seem to require a cabinet maker to build a door and handle for you to match your kitchen.

    • +1

Yes, integrated models require a door to match the cabinets, but the built-under doesn’t. The difference from the freestanding is that the legs are further back and so it needs two screws in the side to attach it to your cabinets. The height can also be adjustable to go flush up against the bench. Look at YouTube for some installation videos if you want to see how it works.

I got the built under model a while ago with the same $200 promo when our old dishwasher died. I would definitely recommend it. It is very quiet. Especially at this price. I had to pay a hundred or two more at the time.

      • I've looked for installation videos and found many 'built in' installation videos but zero 'built under' ones. Are 'built in' and 'built under' different things? They seem to be the same.

It is incredibly annoying that the Bosch website has ONLY front on pictures of their built under dishwashers to ensure it is impossible to tell what they are actually like. What a joke. Surely less than 1% of the population knows this stuff.

        • +1

You may be able to download the user manuals in PDF format from the Bosch AU website. They seem to give some details on dimensions and side profile diagrams, hopefully that's helpful to you. Also check Appliancesonline.com.au for the same model as sometimes they have more pictures and/or video reviews.

    • Always look at the model numbers in the conditions:

  • Thanks OP, just in time for a kitchen makeover. Bought the built under one.

  • Got a series 6 a few months ago and can recommend. Used to have all Miele but don't like their Aussie franchise - service, parts, rigged pricing.
    So these days prefer Bosch.

Can just put these on Auto and forget about it.

Miele had a label on their units saying tested for 20 years of use. But they only give 2 years of warranty.
I had a Miele washing machine, dryer and dishwasher and can tell you they didn't last anything like that long.

    • Can just put these on Auto and forget about it.

U can't do that with a normal dishwasher?

Not sure why this dishwasher is so g00d?

      • Heavy or light, glasses or pots or pans it decided what to do when on auto.

  • Nice price, i'm waiting for the Bosch to bring out comfort lift version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4cSJvMKTpU

    • Unless you have arthritis or something it seems like a good feature to give you a very minor benefit then break after 18 months.

      • Its good even if you don't have a bad back the less unnecessary bending the better. The video is an AEG unit which isnt a cheap LG or samsung unit, so quality will be there to last a while

  • Nice deal, and nice dishwasher.

Purchased the SMS88TI01A after seeing this deal, collected it, ripped out the old unit (a noisy Smeg) and fitted the new one.

I have it doing a load of dishes at the moment and it is super quiet, noisiest part is the water going down the drain.

  • Cheers, shame the cashback is not applicable too

    • +2

      That looks truly shite.

    • That's not a 'dented' model. That's been rolled down a hill. :p

  • Thanks just bought one. Only started looking for a new dishwasher today and this popped up. Cheers.

  • Will harvey norman price match it ?

  • TGGs had this for sale a couple of weeks ago for 1069 I believe (instore and online). We have an E&S trading in town and they were happy to beat it by a little bit and got it for 1050.

  • Fantastic dishwasher. Only issue is if you don't pop the door at the end of the cycle, water still lingers in the tops of cups.

  • Thanks, i know to use "PRONTO" to get 10% from ebay.

But,How can i get 15% off from TGG? any code?

    And, after my purchase-Bosch SMS88TI01A Dishwasher, can i still get Bosch $200 cashback(bosch-home.com.au) ?

    • No.

    • The listed price includes the 15% off

  • Good price. I have this model for a year now. It is very quiet. CLeans well but only issue is one of the plastic on the bottom rack is loss. Not 100% happy with that since our old F & P one was fine for at least 3-4 years.

  • Can anyone measure the box dimensions for me by any chance? Trying to work out if it will fit in my car!
