Just a reminder that this modem doesn't support NBN VDSL FTTN connections

That's true, but it does make a decent wifi access point where the isp supplied modem/router has poor coverage.

  • Bought one of these last week to extend my network at home.
    Wired connections work fine.
DHCP enables on the primary router only not on this one.
But for some reason wireless connections don’t get Ip addresses.
Tried playing around with settings for a week. Still no luck. Sending it back this week. It’s a bummer cause it’s a good price!

  • After Archer D7 failure, I just bought Xiaomi Wifi Router 3 for $44.
So far it has not dropped a connection. I'll be keen on getting feedback on D9 though

    • I just got sent a D9 as a replacement for the D7 - still in box with wrapping on it. Looking at whether I just sell it and do a similar thing - but I need wired gigabit to my NAS, so perhaps TMobile ASUS reflashed

      • That's interesting. They refunded me the money via FUTU online ebay store.

        • Joey from TP-Link contacted me via Whirlpool - mine was instability with the ADSL connection which was never stable since I brought it last year. I should have sent it back after 2 weeks. I'm assuming you got yours warrantied as a result of the Chromecast or Google Play issue.

I have a 8968v2 and it is rock solid. We have FTTC coming and they offered me their VR400 which would have worked with FTTC but one gigabit ethernet didn't meet my original purchase requirement for ethernet ports.

Refund would have better tbh - now I need to sell the D9

    • I have had a D9 on a FTTP NBN for over a year and I'm very happy. No issues, and the wireless is strong.

      • My D7 was on FTTP as well, it was working fine for over 8-9 months and then it got stuffed

  • Was $97 on Saturday, got delivered n setup today. W8960n died after 8 years or so of service.

  • Bought this router 2 years ago when I was on ADSL for $260. Am on Telstra Cable now but am still using this in router only mode as it has better wifi range than the Telstra Gateway. Still going strong. Not due for NBN for another 2 years so will keep using it until then.

  • I've got this and love it so much that when society degenerates progresses further I'm going to attempt to marry it.

Just be aware that you are buying from a business which is now in liquidation so i'm wondering if they the administrator might put a freeze on deliveries and you may need to seek a refund from the administrator?. But good luck with that as you as a non business creditor would be way down on the list. Your best bet if you don't get the goods is if you lodge a Paypal dispute. Yes it's true that administrators have been called in and Wireless1 is being liquidated. So yeah if you even do get the goods you might need to seek the manufacturer itself for warranty. But i would say in liquidation really soon all deliveries from orders will be put to a stop. But how was the business allowed to trade right up to liquidation. Insolvency?.

Personally in my opinions i wouldn't be buying this right now full stop. You're only asking for trouble with a business which is just about to be wound up through liquidation. You likely won't get the goods and a refund may be harder from a liquidated company.

      Warehouse 1 =/= Wireless 1.

But yeah Warehouse 1 are terribad.

Yeah sorry i made a mistake and it has nothing to do with Wireless1 at all. I mistakenly thought it said Wireless 1. I do appologise and Wireless1 is safe to buy from. This is what happens when you write up late at night. Bit of a doh moment.

  • It's available for $85.50 from shallothead ebay store, and I've posted the deal here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/363854
