    Cockburn

    I've had that before.

    • +1

      was it from McDonalds?

      • +2

I think it was from the dipping sauce, I dipped for too long.

    • -1

      Lol…

    • Gonorrhea?

      • Special sauce.

    • For those wondering it's pronounced co-burn 😂

    • +8

      Yummy in my tummy!!!

    • +8

There is 45% chicken in it? Impressive. Thought would be much lower.

    • +13

That's actually a 5 percent improvement over Steggles 'Premium' chicken nuggets.

They have 40 percent chicken, but they use chicken breast and dehydrated potato.

      • What is the carbohydrates and sugar and fat content per 100g or per this deal?

      • ^ Exactly, have a scan of the ingredients list of all the chicken nuggets brands next time you’re in the freezer section, and you’ll see this is not unusual.

I typically go for chicken breast tenders because the larger the piece of chicken, the higher the chicken to breadcrumb ratio is.

Still, highest I can find is now Coles Chicken Breast Tenders, which are just 67% chicken, a decrease from 74% chicken since they started forming even-sized pieces.

The previous winner was Ingham’s, also in the 70–80% range, who started to form pieces and decreased to 34% chicken. I complained directly to them and they said, “The changes made have delivered product consistency, enabling cooking of the product and meal planning to be more convenient and easier for our customers and their families.”

Convenient that it also means they don’t have to include anywhere near as much chicken, isn’t it?

      are you a soy boy?

"We understood that while chicken made up 45 per cent by weight of the ingredients in Chicken McNuggets as a whole, the meat in the nuggets was 100 per cent chicken breast meat as suggested by the ad, rather than coming from other parts of the chicken."

      15.4% fat

Is there a problem with that?

    • +2

This is a bargain posting site, not a health conscious propaganda spreading site.

    • +2

I think they compare reasonably well to most other deep fried chicken nuggets, both in terms of amount of actual chicken in them as well as overall macros.

    • +2

It's breaded chicken. I'm not sure what you expected? I'd understand this as a complaint if it were a grilled chicken pattie, but there is literally no reason to be raising this.

Also LOL at pointing out 15.4% fat.

    • What animals did the fat come from??

    • Surprising details. I wonder whether that is measured before or after the final deepfrying. I think that deepfrying is one of the health risks of our generation. https://www.livestrong.com/article/414700-are-deep-fried-foo…

Thanks when people eat 24 nuggets, it's like eating 5 nuggets of pure artery clogging and heart disease causing fat.

If you just ate 5 nuggets, that is one nugget of pure fat there.

Also the OP needs to remove obvious false statements from the promotion such as "Everyone's favourite deal is back!", ah no, this is not my favourite deal. I think the OP must be suffering from cerebral atherosclerosis from all the fat they eat, it is basically dementia caused by eating too much cholesterol and fat.

    • 15.4% fat is disappointingly low.

  • +1

  • +1

Is it just me, or have the quality of maccas nuggets declined in recent times?

    • i hardly ever bought them due to being kinda expensive but the ones i got today do seem quite dry, maybe a slightly old batch, i wonder if they will cook them up fresh on request….as far as quality of chicken & coating etc they seem about the same as always…
