Following on from my previous post. Ola Cabs in Perth has gone one better than their last promo. Now it's 10 free rides up to $30 each for the next 7 days. Only problem is surge pricing will probably apply 24 hrs a day for the next week.

The soft launch of the brand new ride sharing service Ola has just launched in Perth. Hopefully it costs even less than Uber. The driver's also love it too cos they only get charged 7.5% commission for the fare unlike Ubers's 25% or so. Get on it now!

I received an email with this detail so it's probably targeted but hopefully others can check and let me know.

T&Cs
1. You can avail the offer only in cases where your ride value is upto $30. If your ride value is more, the ride will be charged to your card as per the normal rate card
2. You have a maximum of 10 free rides that you can use within 7 days, starting today
3. Offer valid only for users receiving communication from Ola
4. Ola reserves the right to modify/withdraw the offer at its sole discretion

    Just signed up without receiving any email (used your referral code) and about 5mins later got a notification with the 10x$30 offer. So doesnt seem to be targeted.

    Uber is honestly shit to drive for… long story but I am glad there is more competition now

    I honestly do not understand how they are bleeding so much money considering they don't own any vehicles, nor pay for fuel and get such high commissions!

    Anyway… I am waiting for a company who'll let me run my car. It is a high class luxury coupe that can be mistaken for a Ferrari 456 if you squint. Has about 450nm of torque from about 2000rpm so will thrust you back!

    I would GLADLY run it as a VIP service for the right price!

      Nope, not in my experience. I just took a long ride and the bill value was $ 7. I've done this ride on Uber and it's a lot more than $37. I think they mean if the ride is above $30, you just have to pay the difference.

    Not much point giving away free rides when there are not enough drivers to give a good experience. Tried to use them multiple times last week (before this promotion) and never was able to get a single car. Uber arrived within 8 minutes each time.

    In addition also tried to get a ride from the Airport and the app said that they don't operate from here. Missing a big segment of the market by not picking up from the airport.
