  • I got the flight offer at 12.30 am on 4 April and the confirmed booking in the evening of 5 April.

Be careful, as the wording of the offer is that the flights, dates and destinations could be different in the confirmed booking.

In my case the offer and the confirmed booking matched, except that the wording of the offer excluded baggage, but the confirmed booking included one 23 kg bag.

  • Anyone else just get a 2nd booking confirmation? Still the mixed up name though :/

    • Yep, I also received a second confirmed booking tonight.

The second confirmed booking is exactly the same as the first confirmed booking.

  • Looks like they just want to stop dealing with me.

However we unable to reinstate your application again. We are not double standard, but it is for certain cases and as a gesture of goodwill.

It has clearly stated in the terms and conditions which you have agreed to that we need a valid passport in this application. It also has been reminded during the scanning ID process that for any overseas travel, the passport is a must.

Kindly refer the attachment for your review.

We really sorry to inform that we unable to assist further.

  • Excitement! Received the first email :) Thanks everyone for your helpful comments in this thread!

    • If anyone is interested, according to a communication received from them, flights allocation is automated.

      • Thanks for that. I received my second preference

I presume that the algorithm picks the cheapest option for Inspire UK.

  • I'm ropeable. I have been back and forth with Inspire so many times about how their lack of adherence to the timeline has meant that it would have been very difficult for me to get time off work with such short notice (2 weeks), and they have continuously replied stating that it is not possible to change my offer. I accepted my offer in the hopes that I could change the dates myself through AirNZ, and now today they have sent me a new offer to a completely new destination, BUT WITH THE SAME DATES! So it seems that they can in fact change the offer, but only when it suits them. I queried the new offer and they responded saying that the previous flights were no longer available, which is absolute rubbish as my partner received the same original offer, accepted just after me, and has already received a confirmation. I've tried contacting Stoneleigh but haven't heard back. Has anyone had luck contacting Stoneleigh directly?

    • Is it possibleInspire have figured out your girlfriend got the same flight as you and changed it to spite you? Seems to be very coincidental.

      • I’d say that’s the case. The last person I spoke to at Inspire said that she would refer my case to her manager. What’s the bet that the manager won’t get back to me until after the 48 hour period is up.

  • Yep, I also received a second confirmed booking but airline was viasa which is no longer operating was a bit worried it might be a scam. Then got second confirmed email booking that is exactly the same as the first confirmed booking but with virgin airlines. so all good so far im very happy.

    • Have they mixed up your name at all by chance?

      • no names are correct and added flight to velocity so I can see its a valid booking so now I can pay for luggage as its a GO fare it has none. we probably have to call up virgin to add children to the booked flights for an extra fee over the phone? this booking charge cant be avoided if you try and do it via a travel agent can it?

  • Guess what their latest tactic is? Claiming they didn't receive the original receipt in the envelope as an excuse to deny a claim. Only when pushed will they relent and offer their "gesture of goodwill". This company should not be allowed to operate! I think they are processing these claims in some third world country and trying to find any way they can to deny them.

  • Still no contact here at all yet. 😖 Sent on 19th. Will give them a few more days and will contact.

    • +1

I sent mine Express on 19th and got the first email on 12/4. I'd give them until the end of the week.

      • Thanks

        • +1

Surprisingly, I received my flight offer tonight! Third choice and possibly most expensive… scratches head

        • And the booking confirmation came through as well. All pretty painless so far. Sorry for other people’s troubles.

        • @Sweet3st:

          Congratulations!

Have you checked through the Manage Bookings part of the airline's website as to whether luggage is included?

        • +1

@klrrider1: I sent them an email initially to say I would prefer to fly Virgin as I have gold status. They replied that the system was automated. The flights I was offered were with AirNZ but the booked flights are Virgin codeshare. So I get the complimentary bag with Virgin. They are Go fares to NZ, the cheapest fare.

  • Apparently they have not received my mail in the UK yet. Hmmmmmm

    • got my email….now to see what flight I get?

  • Adelaide which is what I was hoping for!

    • Thanks for everyone's input! Especially the bit about the passport! In the end, I had no hassles. My flight was $390 Perth to Adelaide for 3 nights. Virgin Australia which is exactly what I was hoping for! Able to use Hubby's velocity points to get a free flight….and we got seats together too! Two free flights! So good experience for me! Spending the weekend in the Barossa.

  • I received the first email and followed the links and uploaded the docs. just checked and apparently my application has expired because my personal link expired. Same story for me and my wife. Complete scam. Am following up but not expecting much.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

  • Hi did anyone get jetstar tickets and manage to add luggage for extra fee and change the email address of the booking?
    thanks

  • Anyone tried changing NZ trip to Queenstown?

Jetstar quoted me $325 one way to change from Auckland to Queenstown. I still want same date, just different destination.

    • It would be cheaper to fly domestically! I wanted Auckland and got Christchurch. Not a bargain anymore if you change it?

      • i wish we could trade!
