lol, thought this was for the PRO, almost fell out of my seat.

    • +17

The pro was ~$350 in december, it'll come back soon

      • Who was that through? Amazon AU?

      • and how do you know that It'll come back soon?

        • +1

Amazon have been pricing their best sellers really vicoiously lately, so I reckon it'll come down soon to an awesome price as it's happened before

    • That’s what I thought for a split moment!

And in true OzBargain fashion quickly calculating what I paid in the Dec deal with the Amex 10% cashback! Can’t recall if there was any Cashbacrewards on that one though!!!

ozb heroes should wear capes!!!!! thanks mate, got one!

been waiting ages for this. Was hoping for $269 for the 500GB, but +$60 is about what a 2.5" 1TB costs so this is a good deal.

All these console deals beginning to pop up the past few days is making me increasingly more hopeful to see one for the Pro soon.

Bought… now to work out what to do with it. :D

  • How does it compare to Xbox one S 1TB minecraft ?

    • +44

This one plays PS games but not Xbox games. The other one plays Xbox games but not PS games.

      Sorry I couldn't resist.

      • +4

        nailed it

    • +3

Yeh I'd get the ps4, alot more variety of games and the Xbox one's can be played on pc now anyway

      • +1

I think what he means is whether the PS4 is worth the extra $100 for the game exclusives

        • Oh didn't realise there was a price difference here! Most other countries the ps4 was actually cheaper on launch and today they're about the same. Dunno why aus is different!?

    • +1

XBox plays UHD blu-ray and xbox games, PS4 plays ps4 games and "digital" copies of UHD content…

      • +1

        U mean Xbox one S plays UHD, standard X doesn't I don't think

    • +7

Honest answer: if you don't give a crap about playing certain games (like me), then buying the Xbox Minecraft pack will save you $110 bucks and give you the addition of an UHD bluray player. Xbox has its own exclusives also e.g. Halo, and personally I care more about playing them than the PS4 ones which I am sure there are more of.

In addition I find because I have a 360 I have already collected 13 free Xbox one games over the last couple of years any time there's a $1 Gold pass going or I have been able to use a coupon. I dont get much time to play so I have more than enough to fill the few minutes here and there I might spend playing. Also I would never spend a thousand bucks on a gaming rig let alone a graphics card so playing xbox games on my Pc is out, and I like to play on the TV. Hopefully that gives you an example of what the profile of at least 1 xbox minecraft buyer looks like.

        Not a gamer

You made the right choice 👍

        • +1

The right choice for me, but still not as great a choice as getting a Dreamcast, that thing just keeps on giving :)

      • on top of this Microsoft now offer a new service called gamepass you pay about 11 bucks a month and get access to over 100 games and there also releasing new Microsoft 1st party games into the service on release first being sea of thieves this month

        https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/games/xbox-game-pass

        • I didn't mention that because S4 has its own streaming service, but I just looked it up and while it includes more games it's double the price so the TCO would be a lot more in time. Also being streaming if you have crappy internet or are limited it could be not as good as being able to download the game and play offline

      • Great thanks

Well said. It all depends on what you want and prefer. People don't consider the fact that there are different circumstances and preferences for each individual. Better than blinded fanboys just spewing hate.

    What firmware?

    • 4

      • Source?

        • Second word in the title 😂

        • @muncan:

What do you mean? Doesn't mention firmware anywhere.

        • +1

          @fufufu: woosh!

Haha they're just joking that it's a PS4 so the firmware must be "4" :) I have bought one, I can tell you the firmware later in the week.

        • @R-Man:

          Please do! Thanks.

        • @R-Man: received yours yet?

        • @fufufu: yeah it arrived on Friday but due to an emergency i need to be elsewhere til Monday 19th :( will get back to ya soon as I can if no one else has

          @fufufu: hi mate it's version 4.73

My PS4 has finally given up the ghost. Absolutely fanging for a Pro deal COME ON OZBARGODS

    • +1

I bought a Pro two weeks ago for a fairly average price, so I fully expect there to be some excellent Pro deals any day now…

  • So tempted to get this ….. must resist, I'm getting off the internet.

  • not sure whether i should pull the trigger on this, or wait to see if there is deal on the pro soon

    • wait for a PS4 pro deal. It looks like Amazon AU is starting to get competitive and ramp up its sales slowly but surely. Once it works out the kinks in its warehousing and logistics, plus as stocks pile up in their local warehouses, we gonna get big sales, especially when new models come on the market.

    From Lifehacker Post

Wow. I've always assumed that Lifehacker's daily deal posts are all just compiled from a quick scan of Ozbargain.
    Mind.Blown.

  • So anybody got theirs yet and can confirm firmware?
