Rhianna is back again - although the price is not as great as the last time I posted, but it is still a fantastic price for such a high-quality umbrella.

Bought mine in the beginning of January. Melbourne hasn't had much rain to test but I have used twice:

1- The 'automatic' feature works as described - it isn't original but it is really nice to have. When it is raining and you're hurrying to get out of the car to run for the train, that one-second click to prop it open is so satisfying :)

2- The water-repellent material is indeed amazing. Credit to BlazinPast's comment from the previous deal. Here is the Youtube video with water repellent demo. Here is the link to my original post if you'd like to read in detail.

Only about 300 stock. Flashsale link so don't forget to use CashRewards link:

>>>> 5% cashback here <<<<

Skyblu's checkout process:
1- Add product to cart & select USD currency (upper right, above Cart)
2- Come back to this post and click Cashrewards link
2- Select "Postal Service - No Tracking" US$0.00
3- Untick shipping insurance
4- Choose payment method (default should be Paypal)
5- Verify final payable price is "$20.00" (USD) before proceeding to Paypal

worth looking at might be overstating the video just a bit

Well it gives an idea of size, unboxing and opening…aswell as more info in the description!

        • Thanks for adding it here :)

Bought one after reading the fantastic reviews. Unfortunately will never use again. Pretty crap for even a light drizzle with a bit of a breeze. Back to using my trustworthy woodworm.

    • +1

I bought 3 Woodworms on a deal here about 2 years ago.

Fantastic things, they don't last that long where I live due to me walking out in really strong wind and rain but I still have 1 left and by crikey they were cheap at the time like about 9 bucks each for 3 delivered.

I wonder if they still do deals with Woodworms?

      • +1

Agree also. Haven't seen those on sale for long

      • +2

I did buy last deal 3 Woodworms, they are better than other umbrellas,
but they all gone in melbourne windy weather, waiting for new deals if it comes the same deal i will buy 6 minimum :)

        • +1

I have 3 woodworms from an OzB deal from long ago; you're all saying they are great but just like your mine have basically worn out as well.

        • @smartazz104: mine are still going strong, best deal ever. They survived the Brissy golf ball storms (how fitting), very happy with them still.

    • Agreed. A pretty useless umbrella even in normal wind or rain conditions. Back to my Ultra reliable Woodworm brolly.

Save your money guys, don't get on this.

My umbrella of choice, 10 years old and hasn’t missed a beat. Sometimes when the wind is strong the umbrella does a Mary Poppin and can drag you where the wind blows.

Reckon if your light enough you would be moved off your feet.

    • Don't bag Xiaomi, everyone gonna jump aboard the neg wagon

    • I recommend a Chinese brand call Heaven/paradise. It cost me AU$5 to bought from China. It is so strong that does not flip in strong wind. The two I bought had already been use for 8 years.

  • Thanks op, got one. sick and tired of using 5 dollar umbrellas just to have them bend and break after 3 uses.

    • +2

But can it hold up on a cold rainy night in Stoke?

    • You are welcome :)

  • What's a good umbrella that has air vents? We get a lot of wind where we live.

    • +5

Just get one of these and cut holes in it.

      • +2

In that case, I would rather save my money by just putting a garbage bag over my head.. :P

        • +4

Now you're thinking like a OzBargain user!

        • @BarginGrabber: Isn't that the reason why you and I are here?? lol

    • Woodworm. But I still managed to kill 2 out of a 3 pack I bought here but it was the arse end of a cyclone.

      • Thanks, do they do a smaller one than the golf though? I also found the Samsonite Windguard though not really available in Aus yet.

    • +1

I miss the old Korjo ones that Officeworks had. Had mine in Melbourne for 3 years now, still going strong.

Doesn't have vents, just easy to flip back if it goes inside out. But it's done that maybe twice in the time I've owned it.

      • i bought mine from Teds camera stores last year. Kogan also sells them. Made well ,compact and light.

    • Get the bunnings one. Only $10 and still going strong since 2 years.

  • Ships in 24 hours? Let's put that claim to a test.

      You didnt remove the insurance

      • +2

        @adamfury paid in aud$.

        • Removed insurance and paid in USD.

        • +2

          @adamfury:

did you use paypal's crappy exchange rate?

        • @PissLUR: mastercard's exchange comes to the same amount as well: 26 dollars something.

        • +1

          @waterbottled:

          28 Degrees
          PURCHASE -$25.59

        • @adamfury: PissLUR is correct. You have go into Paypal's settings to specifically set to use the card's exchange rate (Visa or Mastercard), if not Paypal exchange rate will override.

        • +1

@sky blu: that sounds about right! I'll have to look into changing that!

        • @adamfury: It's quite convoluted. Takes a few steps to get there as Paypal hides it well lol.

        • @sky blu: Trying to find it now. Care to point me in the right direction?

        • +1

          @adamfury: Here you go bud:

1- Login to your Paypal account
2- Click Settings on the top-right of the page left of Log Out
          3- Select PAYMENTS tab
          4- Click Manage pre-approved payments
5- Click Set Available Funding Sources on the top-right of the list

I copied and pasted from this webpage

        • +1

@sky blu: Wow very hidden. Thanks very much for the deal and your help!

Lightinthebox sucks, they list it as shipping within 24 hrs and don't ship after a week.

      24 Microsoft hours

    • +5

hi mate, very apologize for this bad experience, here is the situation: when our warehouse have stocks, even for 1 stocks. the system will auto show shipping in 24 hours information and i can't change it for now.

so some times when user bought an item which have for example 100 stocks. and in the mean time we get around 150 orders, then will delayed some users order. that's why i always told user if their order not send out in 3 business day, pm me to check the order status, i'm always online and offer support

      • Thank you for explaining how LITB system works. As long as you can do good prices, a lot of us are willing to wait 😊

        • +1

Not picking on the "bought" this time?

        • @Hayo: LOL are you in China?

        • @sky blu: No. In La La Land ATM :)

  • +2

Thanks! I usually hit winter and then realise I don't have an umbrella

  • +6

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Lightinthebox has terrible shipping times and their customer service is a joke. Seriously, avoid these guys and save yourself the headache.

    • +1

Couldn't agree more. L,in,T,box is just an XP you don't need.

    • They are slowly improving. Think of sites like Zapal (mainly for less than $1 freebies now), DD4… - surely LITB is currently above these guys?

It takes time for a company to improve the overall performance of a single process.

    • why did you revoke the neg?

      • +1

He never negged to begin with

    • +1

Agree with long shipping times input I still get my parcels between 1 -1.5 months

    • Been skeptical about all the deals from litb

    • +2

Winter is coming… uuuhhh ooohhh winter is gone.

    • Good point. I am still waiting on my umbrella from the January deal. I messaged LITB customer service and they told me to wait until 60 days have passed…Not sure what that will accomplish but I think I’m up to day 55 or so now so here’s to waiting!

      • Just a heads up, they will continue to extend the waiting time after your 60 days have passed. They did that to me a few times and basically refused to follow up even after 3+ months of waiting and my tracking ID expiring. That's why I call their customer "service" a joke.

        • hi mate, you have a rep here. pm me the order problem and i'm always happy to help.

      • +1

Just an update for full disclosure - I PM'ed the Rep and he followed through and sorted out a full refund for me for the lost package.

        • Glad to hear it was sorted. Thanks for sharing.

  • 3Pack Manic Sales 60" Double Canopy Golf Umbrellas

    AU $25.00
    + AU $14.15 postage

    How would these stack up?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/i/282359648700?chn=ps&dispItem=1

    • +1

ive got a set of these as well as a couple woodworms. they're functionally identical but id rather have a brolly that says "WOODWORM" than "MANIC SALES".

      • +3

Black out the 'manic' and replace with Leigh

  • I have bought this and compared it against my blunt and euroschim. I can tell you it's worth the price your paying and actually has/feels like wider diameter coverage compared to blunt. However, looking closely at the hinges and quality, blunt and euroschim starts to stand out.

Still good value for the price

  • +1

Have Woodworms from 2011. Still in good working condition

  • whats been the lowest price so far?

    • +1

      For what?

      • For this umbrella

  • +1

    Tah, got one. Cheers!

  • Another automatic front page Mi deal

  • Hmm so this umbrella is good when no rain and wind?

    • I guess it's good if you want moore shade in the sun…

    • It does okay, but if you're in Melbourne then you'd know how bad the weather can get - it can be very very windy I don't think any other umbrella could better.

For the price, this offers great value. I'm happy with mine.

  • +2

I am loving mine. Sturdy build and opens and closes as advertised. Havnt used it in rain tho

  • Does it automatically close?

    • When you press the button when the umbrella is open, it collapses but you'll have to push the rod in yourself.

      It's mechanical after all.

      • So similar to the cheap target/kmart ones

        • If you put that way, yes. Similar is the keyword here.

Have you ever seen a truly automatic umbrella though?

        • @sky blu: they do exist. My sister bought me one. Might have been from Taiwan Or was it Japan. Shame I broke the autoclosing mechanism by once forcing the umbrella to close manually. Not sure. Just check it rainbow as the brand name.

        • @xoom: How does the closing action happen? I'd assume it is battery powered.

        • +1

@sky blu: not battery powered. Looks like it worked on an elastic chord inside the umbrella frame and possibly springs also. Only one button to open and close the umbrella.

        • @xoom: That is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

        • +1

@sky blu: this is was what I could find about the rain-bow brand umbrella.

          http://www.rain-bow.com.tw/index

My umbrella is similar in handle as below but canopy is different design/colour.

          https://m.tw.mall.yahoo.com/productdetail/p097333331553#img1

  • +1

Automatic… does it run on battery? Genuinely curious otherwise how does it pop up and collapse with the touch of a button?

    • With the push of a button, it automatically extends and opens the umbrella. Pressing the same button again closes the umbrella, but the rods do not automatically retract.

    • +1

It doesn't use batteries. It's mechanical i.e. uses a spring. There are a few videos on YouTube that show how the umbrella works.

  • +1

I feel silly, but the "Postal Service - No Tracking" option isn't available for me. Says "Not allowed for better customer experience"

    • +1

Same for me. How to get free shipping? Do not want to miss this deal
