  • Thanks OP

Had trouble ordering this, Amazon appeared to know better than the Post Office, and had decided the post-code my suburb has had since they were introduced is invalid! - Edit - it didn't like the placing of the suburb name on Address line 2 [ above the post-code].

    • +1

Terrys is sharing their experience but I see the usual twats are down voting them for no good reason.

I expect to get downvoted, but this neg for no good reason is a bit of a pisser.

    • +1

As a general rule anywhere that asks for “City” means suburb and not like the name of the major capital city for Australia. Never fails for me.

      • +3

        That's exactly what you do.

In America they call suburbs a city.

At work I see lots of people use the capital city for "city" and put their suburb in address 2 so you get things like this

        123 Fake Street
        Parramatta
        Sydney, NSW, 2150

Then I have to go and fix it so that deliveries get to them without issues.

        • That would be acceptable on a U.S. site - except that <street> <suburb> <postcode> <city> was the entry I had initially entered and used successfully on the U.S. Amazon, and had also already used twice on the Australian site. The only change was that this time, the site threw an error, reporting that my phone number contained a non-numeric character [+ in +61], and then wouldn't accept the post-code as valid until I removed <suburb> from the second line.

Requiring a "U.S. Standard" entry on a U.S. site would have been understandable. they hadn't in the past.

Requiring a "U.S. Standard" entry on an Australian site is either hubristic, contemptuous or merely sloppy.

Still, "We sell to those who meet our standards" would be quite a disruptive meme, and a welcome one in some physical stores I have entered..

  • Can this be used as a juice extractor? Or just blending for smoothies?

    • +1

One of the Russian videos shows tomatos being juiced. It's nowhere near as fast as a dedicated extractor, but does the job pretty well and a lot quieter.
      Also, from : https://www.pluginsme.com/en/plugins-uae/881714
"The food processor comes with seven accessories that are ideal for kneading, whipping, grating, shredding slicing and more. It also comes with a juicer attachment and superior jug blender.

The high-performance dough in equipped with slow-motion and intelligent function to knead bread dough efficiently."

      • Thanks! Do you know how does it go with extracting carrots and celery?

        • I think you'd really need one of the old National dedicated juicers for hard items. The old breville JE95 juice-fountains are going for ~ $30 on Gumtree and I'm getting OK results with that. Still, the 3050 models apparently does 10,000 rpm so this could well manage it if it gets near those speeds

        • @terrys: you're probably right about getting a dedicated juice extractor and there's the cold press juicers but I don't know much about them either. Thanks for your help!! Will check out the juice fountain

        • @imissbeans: The old National/Sony type drum machines can probably juice brazil-nuts, and leave you fibre good enough for repairing plasterboard or making your own flak-vest, but they are a bit fiddly to clean, are better bolted down to a decent concrete plinth and you can end up throwing out the nylon fibre screen in the rubbish. I think most of them were sucked up by Saddam Hussein back in the day for use as uranium isotope processing centrifuges

          https://archive.minttheshop.com/2013/10/national-juicer/

    • Yes mess

    • I have one from a previous deal. It does have a juice extractor of sorts. It not the kind where the shredded pulp is spun up the sloping sides and out. The mesh strainer is a straight cylindrical shape - like a top loading washing machine drum - the shredded pulp just accumulates.
I haven't used it, but imagine you would be stopping and emptying it a lot for anything other than the smallest of juices.

      • I think I only want one of these as a juice extractor, and would want to be doing large juices daily

  • +1

    I bought one 2 weeks ago :(

I used the AGL deal (10% off), if anyone has claimed that, it still seems to be valid.

  • $5.99 delivery for me. ???
Got it. Need to manually change the method of delivery

    • Bought this, a 4 slot toaster and a hand blender.

      $7.99 postage.

      Saved $150 :)

First purchase from Amazon. Very happy.

      Thank you scatman00.

Edit. Also purchased a DeLonghi Espresso. Saved another $150. This is the Amazon I was hoping for :)

  • thanks OP, ordered.

  • +1

Great price but I'm not sure if I really need it, although I love cooking. What should I do? Decisions!!

    • +1

      buy now…think later

    • make pizza or tortilla dough. use the blades and not some plastic dough mixer.

  • +1

Wow what a bargain. Thanks ordered

  • Can this blend nuts and dates? My old stick blender died from trying to do so…

    • Nuts, yes and for Dates not sure. I think it is more around quantity you are looking to blend. For smaller amount power of motor would be able to deal with it.

For such things you should look for those appliances that have motor that is 900w or more.

  • Ordered. Thanks.

  • I have a Kambrook but I lost a part when moving, and I couldn't find that specific part in Australia. I found in New Zealand (website) but instead of paying AUD 30 for a part I decided to buy this one and keep the Kambrook as a blender (doesn't need the missing part).
    Ordered. Thanks.

  • got one….thanks

  • +1

Bought one - yet another impulse buy!

But what the heck - it's great value and I'm sure I'll get some use out of it!

    Thanks OP.

  • (profanity) yes been waiting for this to go back to $71. Thanks op

  • checkout crash

  • +1

Good price but with a Kitchenaid food processor in the kitchen this looks to be a double up on function! Can't convince myself I need this too.

For noting - Braun have discontinued this model.

  • +1

Don't they have price guarantee, bought it in the last deal.

  • Great price, got one thanks!

  • Got one. The Mrs will be happy. (I hope)

Interesting that Amazon's early efforts in Oz are selling vintage/antique products!

I was probably the last to get one at a $5 premium to the deal price. Proven product, hopefully'll do a better job than my baby stick blender.

  • +3

The item hasn`t been dispatched yet. Amazon AU has to do better than that, or I will keep buying from the US. Slow, slow, slow…

    • I got the dispatch email tonight.

    • US Amazon dispatch is usually just the same - plenty of other companies are faster at that bit.

      • I usually have my Amazon US orders dispatched in less than 24 hours.

  • Just got mine today. Shall have to check if any parts are missing

    • +2

Got mine today as well. That`s not beautiful but it's a very nice and complete food processor, definitely a bargain for AUD 56.55. I think I will have to reserve a draw just for it to make sure I won't misplace any parts. It's larger and more complex than I thought… :)

      • Works pretty swell and for the price, I am happy. Just missing the 17 Coarse Slicing insert - b. Shall contact Braun and see what happens

    • +1

I emailed Braun and they replied saying they will send the part, however not until late June :(
