  Curious. what can you do with it? What micro USB devices will the iPad let you do anything with? Can it read a USB stick? With the crummy file managers iOS have, can you at least browse its contents?

      In case you lose your lightning cable? The cable and charger would need to be MFI certified wouldn't it? My iPad rejects anything that isn't.

    i have an official apple micro usb adapter and it works, so these must not be MFI

      An iPhone 8, SE and an iPad Air 2. This was using high quality micro usb cables. It would work for an hour or so sometimes but eventually would be rejected as non genuine.
