Any deals on the PS4 pro?

    • +27

I'm too lazy to check as well.

      • +2

        lol

  • +3

Want to buy a Huawei mate pro 10, RRP is $1099 , but because of the eBay 20% sales, Allphones up the price to $1200++ , after discount still cheaper than RRP but very dissapointed with this. For me, just don’t participate the sale if you don’t want to bear with the discount, rather than mark the price higher than RRP so that you can cover your loss from the sale. Such a shame

    • +1

Haha look at those iPhone X prices on Allphones!

      • lol, i thought Allphones use to have good reputation in Ozbargain, maybe i'm wrong

        • +5

I'm honestly not sure I understand the complaining.

I went through this looking at an iphone 8 purchase. It was slightly below RRP before a sale and went above RRP after the sale was announced.

When i worked out the price after the discount, it was still a lot less than RRP and cheaper than I could get anywhere else.

The service from allphones was excellent - I had ordered one phone type and wife didn't like it - contacted them and they swapped the type with no questions asked just before it shipped out. Arrived very quickly, was in excellent condition and had a full tax invoice.

Sure we'd all love stuff to be as cheap as it possibly could be but how about looking at it from the other POV - if you don't like the price then noone is asking you to buy it - or you can buy it from people NOT participating in the sale if you want to send a signal. It is your money after all - but it's their business.

I used to be grumpy about this but life is too short - just work out the best deal, take it and move on.

You know with Ozbargain that another deal is going to come along pretty quickly and it's rare you're ever going to get the lowest price anyway..

P.S Don't forget to buy ebay gift cards using 5% off to maximize your discount. $1000 item -20% = 800 and then $760 - so almost 24%. Just keeping in mind that Woolies seems to run out of $100 cards pretty quickly and you can only buy 8 of them per transaction..

        • +1

@jason andrade: yes, point s though it isn’t really 20% off RRP is it?

        • @jason andrade: so you’ve purchased $800 ebay gift card with 5% off wish gift card with no problem at all? I thought no gift card purchase with gift card?

        • @jason andrade: I sort of agree and sort of don't. It still does feel like a kick in the balls when they jack the price $112 on an iphone X above retail. But then again, with the 20% off its literally the cheapest price you can get anywhere. So its a case of being angry at getting a technically good price. A very confusing consumer situation, especially for an Ozbargainer!

        • @entropysbane:

I never saw it as 20% off RRP though - I thought it was literally "20% off" - whatever the price was.

I also assumed as Ozbargainers that we always did our own math on the deals.. and if the deal wasn't good enough it just wouldn't be very popular. I wouldn't complain about it.. I just wouldn't use it.

Unless I really wanted it and if price wasn't an issue then I wouldn't need Ozbargain in the first place :-)

        • +1

          @bargainhereicome:

You can purchase an ebay gift card - using a woolies eGiftcard.

You can also purchase a gift card using an actual gift card (but I have no idea why you'd want to do that as it usually costs extra to buy a real gift card).

I had no problems at all - except I did have to do it through the service desk as it wouldn't work on self service.

I should point out that giftcard purchases don't seem to earn any Woolworths reward points (I haven't looked at the fine print but assume there is an exception there)

    • Yeah I want mobilcity to be back

    Would’ve liked to see a Sony A7iii preorder 😭

    • +1

      That was my hope too!

      • I preordered at $2707, Aus stock. That's the best I could find.

  • deja vu

      already seen that…

    • I've been in this place before

    Waiting for search link.

  • Anyone got experience with Dell Ebay's shipping speed? The expected time range is like, 6 weeks =s

    • I am also looking for a decent laptop.

Could not find any Dell laptop on a bargain.

Location was also Malaysia which may explain why it takes longer for delivery.

Lenovo is also having a sale. Shipping also might take up to 3 weeks.

JBhifi is also doing clearance but stocks depends instore

      • Almost all of Dell's stuff is going to ship direct from Penang (Malaysia). They don't really keep warehouses full of stock (compared to how this was done in the past with other vendors anyway..)

    • +1

Anyone got experience with Dell Ebay's shipping speed?

Last time I ordered one just over a year ago was < 2 weeks…

      • +1

I ordered one 4 weeks ago and got it within 2 weeks

    • +2

I got one of the Gaming desktops in the previous sale. About 3 days to process and ship order. About a couple days more to deliver. Nowhere near the 6 weeks estimated.

In my experience, my order was put in 24 Feb and was delivered in just over a week later on 6 March.

    • +1

      Absolute rubbish.

Took 5 weeks after paying for an 'in stock' item for my XPS to arrive.

    • +2

Ordered inspiron gaming desktop 22/02, received 8/03. 14 days

    • +1

My Dell monitor was shipped in less than 4 days. SO pretty quick

    • Each to their own.
Mine arrived within 2 weeks from the time of ordering - through their ebay site. Ordered approximately 6 weeks ago.
I think it would really boil down to their stock level.
Upon ordering, Dell gave us a time frame of 2-6 weeks for delivery so we were pleasantly surprised to receive the laptop within 2 weeks.

    • Really quick. Usually like a week or two for me.

    • I bought an XPS 13 off them about a year ago, and it definitely did not take as long as they said. Maybe 2-3 weeks?

i actually also just bought my wife a laptop in this sale so we'll see how we go haha. My pro-tip to you is if you are looking for a wider range of products, check out their actual website. You don't get the 20% off, but when I opened the help chat, the sales assistant offered me roughly 10% off the price of one of the laptops I'd been looking at, which they didn't have on eBay. Just ask for the best deal they can offer on any system you're interested in. I ended up going with eBay though, the 20% was too nice to pass up.

  • Just checked eglobal digital camera for Fujifilm X-T20, holy hell price is absurd.

  • nothing special for Huawei mate pro 10 :( is there any reputable ebay phone seller that doesn't jack up the price?

  • i want to get the dji spark. what price should i get it at? wasn't it $500 with the remote a few weeks ago with 20% off? There are $500 ones without the remote. there is this one with remote for $600 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-Spark-Drone-RTF-Alpine-White…

My first drone so i don't really want to pay more than $500

    • +3

If your first drone might I recommend spending a tad less. Like $40? You'll be able to practice flight and work out if a flying camera without a mic is actually worth it.

      • +1

If you spend $40 on a drone it will put you off the hobbie. My Mavic Air is so easy to fly and starts in beginners mode. If you're at a football field and have the propellor guards on and beginner mode, it would be almost impossible to crash it.

Not sure if the spark has this.

        • Which propeller guards did you get? I instantly crashed mine, though I was stupid enough not to start out in a wide-open space like a football field. The propellers barely clipped some leaves. Actual leaves. Not even the twigs supporting the leaves.

        • @carlscott1982: Damn man that sucks. There are guards included in the Fly More bundle for the Air.

        • @Putnum: Ah, thanks Putnum. Yep, I had the (awesome) Mavic unfortunately, no guards in the fly more bundle.Took a swan dive directly into a raging waterfall I was filming. It was such a tragic death in how it happened that I almost laugh when I think about it. Almost.

        • @carlscott1982: Would be a fun video ;) RIP

      • Thanks. Any specific recommendation?

      • A $40 drone first is the BEST idea, just youtube drone crashes, its amazing how often people crash a drone in the first 30 seconds of the first flight as they don't understand orientation. There is a great video of someone crashing a DJI Inspire 1 ($5k) in the first 5 seconds into a garage door because he took off with the drone facing him.

Good idea to go to a football field for first flights, as most just do it in their back yard and fly straight into a fence. DJI's "vision" system is not infallible and they can still be crashed.

        • I've had mine for a month and take off and land in my hand now.. but yes, the things aren't idiot-proof.

      • don't really need a mic, but isn't there tiny tiny mics you can strap onto it?

My goal is to fly it really high and record storms. ill take it with me to darwin at christmas.

        • +1

If you are after storm noises such as thunder etc I would use a shotgun microphone (parabolic if you want to go over the top) and record at ground level and sync the sound in post as you would pick up a good amount of noise from the spark if you mounted it directly.
Also a heads up, be careful of Darwin storms in the wet, if you get too high and close they can suck a drone in really easily and the storms can move really fast.
Source: used to storm chase up there.

    • +1

buying a cheap crappy drone for 50 bucks is a good idea. lots of people go buy a huge one for thousands and they all end up the same, stuck in a tree somewhere or slammed into the ground

      • If you apply the same principles to it that you do when you're driving then you should be fine.

    • Get the spark flymore

  • -1

    Any good lightning cable deals?

  • lol the nikon d850 at camerastore-aus at 5,895$.. selling for 5.1k$ everywhere.

    • +1

And after discount its 4716. I bought a laptop that goes for $2800 that was advertised at $3200 and was $2560 after discount, its still the cheapest the laptop ever goes to outside sitewide 20% which is pretty rare.

  • Im looking at getting an iPhone through my-phonez with this deal, has anyone bought from them before? Are they ok? Thanks :)

    • Couple of comments about substituting of grey stock. Do a search.

  • Any Hisense tv deals?

  • Wheres the ozbargain hero with the search link?

    • +3

The hero has shown up 6 hours ago.

Attention to detail, my fellow whiny friend.

It's a shame there's no dictionaries in this sale. A few people in this thread could use one.

    • +1

  • Thanks - I needed a new 16 Port switch. Should be able to grab one here for a little under SRP.

  • Are there any Samsung Tab A 10.1 deals?

  • hilarious!!! just checked an item on ebay eglobal and its $30 more expensive than their website atm. lolz
    price jack confirmed.
make sure you know your prices!!!

    • Difference in prices on ebay vs their own website doesn't necessarily mean price jacking. Remember ebay charges fees, and some sellers include free postage.

Make sure you compare apples to apples.

    • price jack confirmed.

No, it is not. even without ebay sales prices from eglobal site are lower than eglobal ebay.

If you've been wanting to get the Mavic Air, Ted's eBay are selling it 20% off with coupon code above (no price jack).

    $1,289.91

    Mavic Air only:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-DJI-Mavic-Air-Drone-Black-/1…
    $1049.91

Australian stock + tax invoice (TRS refund if travelling will make it even cheaper).

    • +1

      Thanks mate!

    • Did they change it?
"Can't be applied to your order" for the fly more combo

      • Out of stock?

        The code worked for me

      • Fly more looks like it's out of stock: 0 available / 11 sold

        Regular package still available.

        • It's back in stock (7:30pm)… Just a heads up if you are still interested.

        • +1

@pauper: Thanks, grabbed one in the first round. Just mentioned it as freelog was wondering why he couldn't check out.

Can't believe we got such a good price for local stock!

        • @Devil:

Thanks to you posting the link I was able to get one too.

Yup… lucky to get it this price, TRS will sweeten the deal further for me.

For this item I would recommend local stock just incase.

        • @pauper: I'm getting a TRS refund on it too :) I hope you remembered to activate cash reward.. that'll give us 31% off RRP!

First drone or just changing drones?

BTW, check out the GoPro Casey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAhm9T5WuD8 . It's a hard case that fits the Mavic Air perfectly and might be more useful when you travel. I like the small DJI one but it can't hold the extra batteries and just don't like the big one with all that extra flap space behind it as it makes it too big.

        • @Devil:

          It's my first drone yayyy.

The case looks really compact. Will consider once I receive and look at all the items that I will need to be carrying.

        • @pauper: Cool! You'll love it! Just got a notice mine got despatched today.

BTW, download the Can I Fly There app by CASA to check the NFZ areas where you're thinking of flying.

        • @Devil:

          Thanks will check it out.

      • Can't edit anymore:
It was because my eBay Account was opened in a different country.

    • My hero of the day!
Felt like ebays print-search didn't show me the Ted items so would've overlooked them!

  • +1

I'm glad these posts (no offence to op) are not getting the massive upvotes they used too. The price jacking by the companies involved has made them all look dodgy and in my mind done them brand damage

    • Next they'll do 25% or 30% but still with price jacking. 50%??? 80%???!!!!

  • I always laugh when I see their Networking pic: https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MjM2WDMxNQ==/z/-MMAAOSwdBZapdR8/$_57.JPG?set_id=80000000000 — the equipment there is ancient :)
