Nintendo Switch Console Neon Red/Blue $419 + Shipping @ Catch ($336 with Gift Cards from Target 28/3)

170

Seems similar to the Amazon deal on right now. Not the lowest its ever been but decent for Australian website.

Mod 27/3: Thanks to cerealsmok3r

Pay using 20% off gift cards from Target (28/3-4/4) to get it for $379 + Shipping.

Update 1: The obtainable amount appears to be $379 and not the $335.20 originally stated due to the denominations of gift cards available and restrictions present.

Update 2: Users report unlimited gift cards can be used, despite what Catch/Catch terms state. Therefore 8 x $50 gift cards ($400) for $320 & 1 x $20 Gift Card for $16 = $336. Purchase at your own risk (items may go out of stock at any time) and check your local target for stock levels.

Amazon offers free shipping every day, not much of a deal unless you have Cotd credits :/

    • I dont know about others bargain hunters but cotd isn't worth it

      • Why is that? I’ve never had a problem and when I had a hard drive fail a year into owning it, they gave me a refund. No complaints from my end?

Products always come as described and shipping is quick. Just wondering what the issue is?

  • -1

Screw Nintendo for the price jacking, I'll play the waiting game.

    • +1

      I'll wait with you.

      • +1

        Same… i been waiting for a while…

        • retail in Japan was $330

    • +1

I'm out of the loop, what do you mean by Nintendo price jacking? Were the consoles originally cheaper?

      • +5

Nothing to do with Nintedo, just the usual OzB circlejerk. There were better deals around Christmas but it was just retailers accepting thinner margins.

All time low is probably Kogan flash sales or some Ebay coupon.

        • Ah ok. Yeah, I'm still kicking myself for missing out on some of those deals.

  • +4

Australian website but not Australian stock.

    • This is super important to note, thanks for pointing it out. May i ask where on the website you found that because maybe i didnt see properly but i couldnt find where they specified. Cheers.

      • +3

It doesn't specify anywhere which is a bit sneaky of Catch. I found out through chatting with the customer service rep online.

    • +1

Just spoke with Customer Rep on the chat, and they said it was Aus stock.

  • Merged from Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Console - Neon Red/Neon Blue $419 ($335.20 w/ Discounted Gift Card) + Shipping @ Catch
    Go to Deal

All credits to doweyy for the find

Great price for the Nintendo Switch for those waiting for an amazing deal on the console. This is possible with Target having 20% of Catch off the Day Gift Cards. Prices have not been this low in a few months now and it beats this previous deal. Enjoy! :)

Here is the link to the Gift Cards:
    https://www.target.com.au/catalogues#page=offer&params=gift-…

Club Catch can be joined for $6.50 / month to get free delivery on Non-Marketplace items.

Otherwise its variable cost shipping, and it can range from $10 to $14 depending on your location.

    • Anyone know if it starts 12:01am? Or is there a specific start time? I've never bought from Catch before.

      • You need to go into Target to get the gift cards tomorrow to use them on the site.

        • Sorry, I meant for the Switch. Don't have time to go target and buy the gift cards.

          • @Zackyis: I know that Amazon Aus is selling the Switch for $419 as their regular price.

          • +1

@Zackyis: You can buy the switch now from catch if you don't want the $80 saving from using the discounted giftcards…

          • @Zackyis: @Warier:I was misreading it. Guess I got excited seeing a sub-400 switch. Thought it was 335 before using gift cards!

Grey isnt usually on sale - would recommend over the neon red/ blue
      https://www.catch.com.au/product/nintendo-switch-joy-con-con…

      • Why would you recommend it over the neon red/blue?

        • just a nicer look :)

      • how can u recommend it over the neon? it's just a personal taste thing there is no performance or storage difference

        • well since i didnt mention specs, only the colour that's exactly what i was going for

          • @henlll: But you said you’d ‘recommend’ the grey one, not that you personally preferred to buy it… Why would you suggest other people bought the grey one over the neon one?

    • And i just bought a switch second hand for 360 off ebay. Damn my over eager purchase.

    • +2

Are the gift cards fully stackable?
My understanding is that you can stack up to 5 gift cards, so if we stack 5 x $50 gift cards we're saving $50 at 20% discount. So, the price for the switch really comes down to $369.
Can anyone else offer some insight?

      • +2

Actually, there we can only stack 4 cards as we will need to pay the balance:

        https://help.catch.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/115003188854-Can…

So price would come down to $379

        Correct me if I'm wrong

      • You can only use 5 transaction types in the one transaction.

So unless you can pay the entire balance in 5 gift cards, you can only use 4 gift cards + balance via Credit Card, paypal etc.

        • Ignore this - i just used 14 cards (a mix of $50s and $25 to total $550) in the one transaction LOL.

    • So tomorrow I go to Target and buy 8x$50 Catch gift cards at $320 then how do I add them to my Catch account? I haven't used this site before.

      • When you check out, it gives you the option to add gift cards as payment.

    • +6

Not sure that $335.20 is possible, unless target sells $100 gift cards:

      https://help.catch.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/115003188854-Can…

Can I use multiple gift cards towards my purchase?
Yes, you are able to use a maximum of five gift cards (both digital and physical) to cover the balance of your purchase.

I saw only $50 & $20 gift cards in the target catalogue

So 5 of the $50 gift cards wont cover the whole amount - the best you can get the Nintendo for would be $369

EDIT: just saw the comment from acek47 above!

    • +1

      @shweky
Actually $379, with 4 giftcards + card payment
"Please note that if you need to pay for the balance of your order using a different payment method, you will be able to use up to 4 gift cards plus your credit card or PayPal account."

Edit: Someone beat me to it

Isn’t it a huge risk to buy gift cards at Target in the hopes that Catch will still have stock of the Switch tomorrow? How long have Catch been selling the Switch at this price? It’d suck to buy hundreds of $$ in gift cards only for the Switch to be out of stock…

      • +1

I have to agree, way too risky to be stuck with Catch Gift Cards

    • Great deal, but seems like too much an effort :/

      • +1

        said no true OzBargainer ever

        • +2

kills the saving with the extra trip to Target + risk of out of stock

      • Well i just saved $110 and there's still stock.

    • why catch live tell me only can use one gift card purchase?

  • Thanks for formatting guys!

And sorry for the wrong price. I got too excited in giving back to the community haha

Shoutout to doweyy for the find. He/She deserves all the recognition for the initial discovery.

  • Jb is selling at 449, and if I use my 15%off gift card from last deal. I can easily get 381.65 which I think is better than take the risk. I am waiting for jb price down to 399 again.

  • Too risky for my liking. What happens if I buy the Catch Gift card and the Nintendo Switch is out of stock….I'll be stuck with Catch Gift card.

  • +6

Just purchased on Catch using the Target Gift cards.
There is actually no limit to the amount of Gift cards used.
$400 worth of gift cards purchased for $320.
    $419 console + $9.95 delivery.

Price of Console (including delivery) = $348.95.

    Cheering.

Advice to others making the same transaction. Purchase $425 worth of Target Catch Gift cards, and save that extra $5.

    • Hi can you or anyone confirm with the amount of gift cards that can be used in one transaction? Would really like to buy if this is possible

      • I used 11 in total (9x$50 and 2x$25) in one single online transaction. I would say there is no limit.

      • I used 9 (8x$50, 1x$25) no issue.

      • I used 14 (8 x $50, 6 x $25) - no issue.

  • Can confirm you can use more than one gift card.

I bought 10 x $50 gift cards at 20% discount because I also wanted to buy mario odyssey (too bad they didn't have zelda).

So basically paid $400 in total for the gift cards for the switch + mario odyssey.
That is basically ~ $335 for the switch (rrp $418) and ~ $53.5 for mario odyssey (rrp $67).

Plus $10 shipping but I made mine express shipping (extra $5.95) as I had $5 left on my gift card with nowhere to use.

Huge saving, better get in now before the switch or catch gift cards get out of stock. Better than the Kogan deal. Only worse than the Harvey Norman Amex deal but who knows if that deal is going to come around again.

  • I can also confirm there's no limit to gift card usage - i just bought $550 worth of goods on COTD using:
    - 6 x $25 gift cards
    - 8 x $50 gift cards

On a related note: Doncaster VIC didn't have any COTD cards, so I cleaned out Forest Hill - I think there's only 2 x $25 cards left ;-)

  • Nice, it does work. Got my Switch on the way for $347 delivered.

  • +1

Also forgot to mention (although true OzBargainers already know this):
    - Use Flybuys at Target
    - Get 2.5% cashback with CashRewards

    • How to get cash back when you have to buy gift card in store.

      • Flybuys for giftcards.
Cashback for the Catch purchase with giftcards.

I got the cashback confirmation from Cashrewards

        • Got it. Lucky haven't place order. Cheers

  • Has anyone's order been dispatched yet? I ordered over the long weekend and its "processing" so I'm still worried it won't go through

    • Just an update, my Switch has just been dispatched. I paid with 9 x $25 gift cards, 4 x $50 gift cards and $3.95 via paypal

    • +1

      Mine arrived last night.
