Here's a little christmas cracker that i couldn't help but want to share. If you managed to buy Bad Company 2 the other day on steam, you can use the cdkey on EA Download manager which will then install the Deluxe edition, for free.

I'm not exactly sure if you have to use a VPN or not.. I did and it worked for me. Anyway, simple download and install the EADM app, and then go to the menu and 'redeem code'.. It'll then prompt you for a cd key.. simply copy & paste the one from steam. It'll then ask what version you want installed.. Obviously install the deluxe edition..

Too easy.. and thanks EA $6.70 for both the game and the expansion

Edit: Looks like you might need to use a VPN to download it as well, as it looks like the AU version doesn't include vietnam.. Am downloading now to be sure…

Edit 2: Logging into the US store displays a different picture to the AU store, so I'm pretty positive you have to use a VPN to at least start the download.. The AU and US Deluxe editions appear to be different.. AU is without the Vietnam expansion.

    LOL it works -> but how would you register the deluxe edition when the cd-key is registered as a normal edition in steam?

      It prompts you to select which version you'd like to install.. either standard or deluxe..

    $6.70 was only from the USA steam page. You needed to VPN to get it.

        I bought my BC2 via VPN off the US steam store when it wasn't on sale ($20 USD)
        Downloading now.

    I've activated it on EADM but it shows as BC2 Limited Edition, will have to re-download the game to check.

      Yeah.. i'd log out, connect with a US VPN and redownload it to be sure..

    It shows up as Deluxe Edition, but doesn't give you the second key needed to redeem Vietnam.

    EDIT: Looking into the VPN.
    EDIT 2: Image was different with US VPN, however still no Vietnam key. I'll keep the downvote until I hear that it worked for someone.

      I'll wait for your signal then, mine is at 150kb/s so there's not much way to check in time, even with a VPN.

      I'm not that familiar with the EA store but shouldn't you be able to see your key before downloading everything?

        Well, without a VPN i still got the option to download the "Digital Deluxe" Pack. Not sure if this includes Vietnam

        You can, but I think there is a separate BC2 Vietnam key you have to activate after the main game.

    Also the file size downloaded from steam was 5.8GB…this one is 8.3. Me thinks this will work.

      The Steam version (actually all versions) also has the Vietnam files, you just need a CD-Key to enable it.
      Steam version size is: 8.48GB

    Tried to do it with a second key on a second EADM account, with a US VPN.
    Key won't activate.

    Anyway, for people that haven't noticed, the key showing up in EADM is the same as your Steam key. This doesn't have Vietnam attached. Also, Vietnam should appear as a second key in the list, however it doesn't show.

    Still waiting on other users to say that they got Vietnam working.

    anyway, it looks like this was all a complete waste of time, as doggunn pointed out.. you need a vietnam cd key too.. bit bizarre how EADM lets you choose which version you'd like to install tho…

    sorry all for the waste of time & bandwidth..

    I'll keep downloading mine but its not looking promising..

    And you won't get Vietnam unless you actually order Battlefield Bad Company 2 Digital Deluxe Edition through the EA store itself for $59.94 which includes the price of Vietnam. There is no free Vietnam key. This thread is a waste of time.

    The reason being is that Battlefield Bad Company 2 Limited Edition is now called Battlefield Bad Company 2 Digital Deluxe Edition but purchases for the limited edition issued before Vietnam came out don't come with a Vietnam license as part of an order. You'll still get the 4 vehicle unlocks and 2 classic battlefield 1943 weapons. But no Vietnam.
