We just scouted these Emirates fares to Bangkok. Travel in April/May 2018. Sydney flights are direct, the rest are mostly via Sydney or Singapore.

    Sweet deal on EK Syd-Bkk. I checked and it is on EK Aircraft A380 and not the less than desirable QF. I believe that EK are now charging for seat selection unless during online checkin.

      Done this and the return was on terribly old Qantas planes, I have never flown qantas before and didnt find it worth the premium.

        One advantage in using the QF Syd - Bkk leg is that you arrive BKK at a reasonable time, however you depart Sydney approx 10am (Winter) or 11 am (Summer). Emirates gets you to BKK at approx 1am which may get you to your hotel at approx 3 am (approx 6 or 7 am Sydney time)

    I love how its cheaper to fly Brisbane to Bangkok via Sydney, than direct from Sydney to Bangkok. Makes sense :|
