    1600 x 900 :(

    • better than 1366 x 768, no?

Not as good as you’d expect given the size of the screen.

        • But unless you have a perfect desk, you're usually a little back from the screen, or its on an angle, or the lighting is shit, or you're trying to save battery and have it dull; so the slightly 'larger' resolution is welcomed.

Also, this was (and still is) the standard resolution for 19" monitors, so you're already ahead of the game there.

AND this will ensure that the onboard IGP (which is actually pretty decent these days!) will be able to power 'full resolution' gaming at medium in most titles.

        • @MasterScythe: I dislike it because I'd like to upgrade my inspiron 17r Special edition one day…. that a 17" full hd laptop from 2012 and it wasn't a greatly expensive laptop…. this may have been the deal I grabbed back then: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/81315 or https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/106954 cant honestly remember but mine had the 8gb ram…

expensive. Do they have models with lower CPUs? Don't really need i7. It looks incongruent with the specs. Who makes an i7 and still uses mechanical HDD?

Top range CPU paired with no SSD, and a low res screen. Like it can't decide whether to be budget or premium. Price is closer to premium side.

If they have an i5 version for cheaper, I might buy.

    • They also oughtta have 7000rpm HDD as the norm at least, yet 99% is still sh*tty 5400rpms

jesus, they last 7 hours now!

I used to have a 17" monster laptop, from new, the battery life was about 2 hours

    • "Up to 7 hours" Marketing.. always read closely.
