Found this online, yes it's probably 99% a mistake, but let's see if we can get it! It's unavailable online, but tomorow I'm going to see if I can get this for the same price in-store.

EDIT: Confirmation that it is not available in-store, you can order it off here: http://www.bigwentertainment.com.au/product/back-to-the-futu… (Thanks jonishere!)

and using the code "MEDIBANKBIGW" (Thanks btaussie!) you can get it for $15.80 posted. The item is currently 'On Order' so right now we're awaiting to see if they will be shipped or not.

EDIT 2: The page above is now dead, it appears they have finally realized what's happened. The real thing now is to wait and see if they honour it.

Predators BR (2010) is $12.87 on the Big W website: http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/DVDsBluray/DVDsBluray/b…

Let's price-match this one!

    • Good point - there are two different versions, but as far as I can tell its just the packaging that is different … one is a fold-out digipack (original version 8279998), and the newer is a normal plastic case (8281088).

The version they've been doing for $12 is the old digipack version, so theoretically this was a clearance deal. If the website says 'To Order' chances are they might not be able to source the stock, as I'm sure the older version would now be deleted.

  • I paid via paypal. You could click checkout or below it was checkout with paypal.

    • thanks didn't notice that must have had too much xmas cheer!

  • Just confirming that I just got it for $15.80 via the link above and also have the email confirmation.
Actually scanned at $44.00 when I was in store yesterday arvo.

  • Ordered 2 copies, 1 through CC directly from the website and 1 via Paypal. Both are showing as pending payments on my credit card which means it should both go through. I remember sometimes they can reverse a Paypal payment which is why I did the CC one as well. :)

Went to my local store earlier and they refused to price match even with the copy of the receipt posted earlier.

    • They can just as easily easily refund your cc

  • think I worked out why I didn't get the option of paypal at checkout I used the bigwentertainment site not the bigw site and it doesn't have that option.

    • bigwentertainment site has a Paypal option. I used it.

      • Where is it? I don't see Paypal for bigwentertainment only credit card or offline payment (phone, fax, bpay)

    • Back to your corner thanks.

    • You buy it because this will be in 1080p resolution with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. Don't think you get that with free to air TV.

  • +2

No, we buy it because instead of watching a SD ad-filled TV edit of the fim, we can watch the films one after the other uninterrupted in HD, with the added bonus of retrospective special features and not paying $50.

  • Just bought n paid via PayPal $15.80 Inc. delivery. Got confirmation emails etc. Damn good deal!!

  • Great deal, thanks to all!!

  • Got it for $12.87 at Livingston WA. They originally said it was an online only price, but when I pointed out that it didnt say this on the website, the Manager agreed to match it.

  • gets my vote too for those who got it instore, anyone from melb got it price matched?? :D

    • Eastlands price matched store for me. Didn't see how many copies were left.

      • God dammit… Just went to watch it and they forgot to unlock it. =(

  • purchased, however i wouldnt be suprised if we dont see it for a while.

ordered a textbook for uni with the same 5-10 days dispatch message, ordered in week 1 of the semester, it arrived in the last week of the semester (week 13) but hey at least i got it before the exams hah (happened with a few of us who bought it too, but we saved like $95 instead of buying from the uni shop)

  • @ atlas: JB Hi-Fi has standard pack of Bourne Trilogy for $24.98 plus 20% off current promotion. I bought mine yesterday. It's cheaper than Big W or Kmart.

    • instore only?
      the pack is $45 online….

    • Really? I was actually there yesterday and my recollection is hazy but I thought I saw it stickered at either $30 or $40. Strange because the 3 individual movies I thought were selling for at least $15 each!

These "old ass movies" are classics to those who grew up watching them at the Cinemas or VHS.

I just went into JB Hi-Fi, showed them the webpage for $12, and they did it for $11.50 !

    • Nice one!

    • care to upload a receipt?

    • +5

I did this just then and got it for $9.60 (down from $45) as my local JB are doing an extra 20% off bluray and dvd! Thanks for the idea, you are a champ. They said they wouldn't normally match big w as theres not a big w in the same complex and I could drive down to another shopping centre with both jb and big w, but they matched it anyway, probably because I'm so handsome.

Big W wouldn't match it at all.

      • someone please upload a reciept

        • +6

I just got back home. My last message was mobile, so excited.

If you're in Perth, they recommend going to Cockburn Central shopping centre as they have both JB and Big W.

          Here's my receipt:
          http://i51.tinypic.com/vx0xgw.jpg

Let me know if I forgot to delete something from the receipt, first time receipt upload.

        • Heeey…. Does your's not have the holographic cover???

The one I got from BigW has a special cover and apparently a "disappearing photo" inside.

        • +1

Nope, mine's not the holographic one, just the regular cover one with no photo inside. I didn't look for the holographic one at JBs, I just picked up the first box I saw. No biggie, for $9.60 I am not complaining.

      • Good old JB and their stupid christmas staff … they are seriously losing money on price matching this, even when they dont have too! :) Well done!!

      • Last time I tried a JB pricematch, they actually rang the other store to check if they had stock. Because they other store was so disorganised with stock, couldn't be stuffed checking so they just said no. So I never got the price match.

        • $9.60 at JB?!?! haha Korda=Champ!

  • I don't even have a bluray player but I still want this deal!
    DAMN!

  • Has been removed on the Big W website in the link in the OP.

    • Nope. Link still active. Just checked now, still available to buy

      • Sorry, I worded it wrong. The $12 + postage one from Big W Entertainment is still active, but the original Big W site saying $12.87 has disappeared.

        • Yeah the price gone…

Currently unavailable online and in store.

  • Anybody want to pricematch Big W entertainment?

  • Wow! 30 minutes ago ordered online $12 + $5pp. Now $58.45 :(

Great bargain, thanks El Taco & jonishere.

ps. Don't know whats happening looked again, 30 minutes later, and its back to $12 "to order"!

    GET IN QUICK!!!!

  • Iron Man 2 also back up to $46.72.

  • I have updated the OP.

  • hmmm, still no cancel email…

    • it will propably come wednesday after the public holidays finish

  • Strange, I could still bought it while other member claims that it had been removed.
I bought it out of impulse but my kids may enjoy these movies.

  • They also had the Shrek Blu Ray Quadrilogy at a good price which worked out to be $43 after the discount (it's $79 at JB). That's disappeared from the site too now.

  • cant even access the bigwentertainment website to check on the status of my order now:(

  • +2

Just went and got it with the printout of the webpage and picture from the receipt of the Calamvale store and they matched it at the Underwood store. They checked it with the store manager and all ok!

  • -2

I bought mine when this was first up well 6 copies ahaha

  • Anyone get a confirm yet on the online orders? Still nothing saying order has been shipped…

  • They won't ship, clearly a pricing error. You will get a polite sorry message, everyone will neg the hell out of it and winge blah blah same thing that happens every time a pricing error happens here.

    • lol so true :)

    • +1

I'm starting to think the best way to take advantage of pricing errors is getting a price match instore quickly. Some people will have actually managed to get this set at this price. Everyone who ordered online will probably be disappointed when they cancel. Based on the amount of clicks and purchases this has had, I'm also of the opinion that this will be a price error cancellation. I hope not though, we should know today.

      • Well I got one in store. It was certainly the only way this was going to work out, considering they aren't obligated to honour invalid/incorrect pricing.

So next time, everyone go price match in stores ASAP! =]

    Game over people….. :(

Just received this email from BIG W.

Unfortunately, your order for the product Back To The Future / Back To The Future 2 / Back To The Future 3 (Blu-ray) been cancelled and a refund has been issued .

    • Same :-(

Agreed with above post, best idea would be to see if you can price match with a competitor and hope for the best!

      • But unfortuantely, there is no reference to price on their website anymore.

  • Thank you for your recent purchase with BIGWentertainment.com.au.

Unfortunately, your order for the product Back To The Future / Back To The Future 2 / Back To The Future 3 (Blu-ray) been cancelled and a refund has been issued.

We do not currently have this item available to order and we have removed it from our site.

Got a cancellation email just then…looks like they cancelled my entire order that had Ironman 2 and Karate Kid as well.

Actually looks like there is a seperate email coming through for each title, got 3 emails now for all the items!

    • Yup, i just got the exact same thing… bummer!

  • Just had my cancel email sent out. Stated there had been a pricing error, their not responsible, lack the intelligence to type in prices correctly, etc.

    Just as many had predicted.

    • I just received an email:
"Unfortunately, your order for the product Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray) been cancelled and a refund has been issued.
We do not currently have this item available to order and we have removed it from our site."

    • No mention of a pricing error in my email.

  • got the same email… doh

  • i just got my cancel email

  • Cancellation email received.

  • +1

Its available again - for $49.45.

So my cancel email was a lie. "We do not currently have this item available to order and we have removed it from our site"
    http://www.bigwentertainment.com.au/product/back-to-the-futu…

    • Not quite a lie … they're getting out on a technicality - the link version is the newer 'standard case' version, normally priced around that. The cheap version is / was a fold-out digipack version, now discontinued.

      • Are you sure about the 'cheap version'?

The one I got in-store looked to be the same as what "was" on the site originally, except it had a holo-cover (and a non-existant disappearing photo that really disappeared!).

  • Order was cancelled, but no refund. I will be going into big w if its not received today. I thought a big retailer like this would have better service. Apparently it is illegal for a retailer to not honour prices on a site like this even in error so I dont know if its worth taking it further or not, Id like to atleast get my refund.

  • got my email too, at least some people got pricematches out of it. have to neg it though. Even during boxing day sales some deals are to good to be true.

    • +2

      have to neg it though.

      don't neg it now……
it's clearly marked as expired, and the OP doesn't deserve a 5 day ban…..he/she posted in good faith

      • ahh, didn't know it worked like that. rescinded. BIG W deserves a big fat - though.

  • I haven't recieved my email yet.

  • I havent got a cancellation email yet…..here's hoping!

  • +2

Got the cancel email too. That's the second purchase that Big W has cancelled on me because they didn't want to sell at the lower price (first was a copy of Kinect Sports, which I purchased from them when it was on sale for under $50 - it was listed as in stock when I ordered and several hours after, but they cancelled the order due to an "IT error" or some other BS excuse).

Neg Big W, not the deal poster.

  • +1

They have the trilogy on DVD listed at $12.87…maybe that was what it was meant to be all along?

  • I have contacted them to see how it will go. I understand it was a mistake but they should have given everyone a $5 or $10 voucher or something like that off the next purchase out of good faith. As a seller myself I do things like that if i make an error and expect more from a larger retailer. Im only annoyed because other stores matched prices with this instore so were out of pocket for big ws incompetence. I will definately think twice about buying anything on big w online again, I don't trust the integrity.

I still haven't received a refund although the email says they have refunded so I might launch a dispute with paypal to be on the safe side.

  • I still havnt got the cancel email yet

  • +1

I got the cancellation email which stated "We do not currently have this item available to order and we have removed it from our site." It is currently on thier site and available to order at a higher price.
I sent an email to fair trading to see what could be done since my card was already debited and sat there for 2 days, maybe nothing but it is worth a try. If Fair Trading get 100 emails they might do something about it.

    • I would say the best thing to do is to go into the store. I am sure they wont like a scene. I still havent got a refund so will go into the store tomorrow if they dont refund it by the end of the day. It should be instant as I paid with paypal. I think they have to price match if you can show them the receipts that other people have posted, and screenshots.

      • +1

My nearest store is an hour away, and as DVDGuy mentioned they have done it before. I would have less of a problem if they said "we stuffed up the price is wrong" and I hadn't been charged. I have been charged and no refund yet. It is almost as if I walked into the store, paid the price and as I'm about to walk out the store they say, Oh no we changed our mind.
I have worked in Target and I know that if the marked price on the shelf is wrong, legally the customer has to be given it for that price. It is bad luck for the store for marking it wrong.

As I said, if Fair Trading get and email from each of us who ordered it, they may do something about it.

        • My store isnt that close either, but with things like this I kindof want to do something out of principle. Ive reported them to paypal, I would have had less of a problem with this if the refund was sent right away, but the fact they have kept the money, and not replying to any emails after cancelling the order is very annoying. I will post here how I go at getting anywhere with this and hopefully others can too because out of principle they shouldn't be allowed to do this. Even if they offered a discount it would be a nice gesture, even if it ended up never being used.

  • +1

Yeah, I just got the email as well.
It all seems a little dishonest to me. Seeing as the email says ' We do not currently have this item available to order and we have removed it from our site' Yet clearly it is back on the site for a higher price.
I'll probably shoot them an email, not that I expect to get anywhere.

  • Is it the same link to the "new" product?

  • Awww man. Loved that movie. For those who managed to price match and get multiple copies, I'm willing to buy at a greater price. Msg me please.

  • +1

Oh guys I'm sorry to hear this is happened. I don't have access to my email but I'm expecting a cancelled one too. Oh well, at least some people got some pricematches out of it!

    • Not your fault….it was certainly a worthy submission …. it's a NEG for Big W, not you! In hindsight we all should have acted sooner to get a price match!

  • This is an email I received this afternoon from them:

"Thank you for your recent purchases with BIGW Entertainment.

Due to a system glitch, we have incorrectly quoted the price of $10.80 for both Back To The Future / Back To The Future 2 / Back To The Future 3 (Blu-ray) & Grown Ups (2010) (Blu-ray) and as a result your order has been cancelled and a refund will be issued."

I thought store policy was that if an item is advertised at a particular price then they were obligated to sell at that price (fair enough that they fix it up once the error is discovered). Oh well, I sent a reply back to them, see how it goes.

  • Haven't recieved a cancellation for Back To The Future yet, but they cancelled my separate order for the Shrek Quadrilogy which at the time of order was listed as both "In Stock" and "Ships in 24 hours". Although it's crap about the Back To The Future set and it was kind of expected, they are also pulling the same stunt on other items as well. This website is clearly very poorly managed. I'll never shop there again. THIS is why Australian retail is heading down the toilet.
