Found this online, yes it's probably 99% a mistake, but let's see if we can get it! It's unavailable online, but tomorow I'm going to see if I can get this for the same price in-store.

EDIT: Confirmation that it is not available in-store, you can order it off here: http://www.bigwentertainment.com.au/product/back-to-the-futu… (Thanks jonishere!)

and using the code "MEDIBANKBIGW" (Thanks btaussie!) you can get it for $15.80 posted. The item is currently 'On Order' so right now we're awaiting to see if they will be shipped or not.

EDIT 2: The page above is now dead, it appears they have finally realized what's happened. The real thing now is to wait and see if they honour it.

Predators BR (2010) is $12.87 on the Big W website: http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/DVDsBluray/DVDsBluray/b…

Let's price-match this one!

  • "Currently unavailable online"

    Would've been nice though…

    • +4

still available in store, so still a bargain.

      • Good luck with that .

      • +2

Just went Big W in Pagewood to check, there is in stock but for $40.
They don't do the online price in store.

  • +3

Clicking 'Find in store' and entering your postcode should help you determine which Big W store is more likely to have stock if you're buying in-person. It also lists phone numbers for stores which have low stock if you're willing to check, too.

    • -3

Although bear in mind sales from boxing day havent been updated on that yet, im sure most will drop to out of stock when it is updated

      • +1

Your neg is premature… you don't know how many stores will have been out of stock today of these blu rays

        • -4

i said most.. im pretty sure its safe to assume, seeing that it was one of thier advertised boxing day sale items that it would have attracted a few sales today..

  • +1

It's actually in the catalogue for $40, so I doubt this is sold out. Just ring them or go in tomorow.

  • +2

They do online-only clearance specials occasionally don't they? I'm thinking this is one of those, or a mistake, and I doubt they'll price match it instore — wholesale cost is $38ish, RRP $54.95 at the moment. Then again, I'd love for someone to prove me wrong :)

  • They had a misprint in their catalog a few weeks ago with the Avatar Blu-ray pack ($12.89 as opposed to $26.89, or something like that), and wouldn't honour it in store. So I doubt if they will honour this one if it is an error.

    • Hmmm, but in-store vs online….

  • Wonder what it will scan at… and I just discovered a new Big W near me by clicking that 'Find in-store' button lol

But I did see ONE copy on the shelf this afternoon at Big W QV, and the website shows as 'In Stock' so I'm not sure that system is entirely accurate (unless they had more stock out back).

  • Would be awesome if this worked in-store.

  • +18

Someone might want to have a go at buying it from the Big W Entertainment site, where at the moment the price comes up as $12.00 (plus delivery) -
    http://www.bigwentertainment.com.au/product/back-to-the-futu…

    • It seems to work (went to just before final confirmation), but delivery is $5 for me… might as well try bigw first which is like a few minutes from my place

    • +1

      ordered a copy 12+5= 17

      fingers crossed

    • +1

That site is pretty good! A few bargains on there…

The Bourne trilogy is not bad at $35. Currently 18 pounds before shipping from Amazon.

Iron Man 2 at $12. Currently 15 pounds on Amazon.

Also, whilst shipping for 1 item was $5, adding a second copy of Back to the Future only increased shipping to $6.50. It seems each additional item is only about $1.50.

    • Brilliant. Just ordered from there. $5 delivery, but you'd have to pay me more than that to brave my local Big W (redeveloping shopping centre = no parking!).

Paid with PayPal and they've charged my account and credit card. Not a lawyer, but pretty sure that constitutes their acceptance of my "offer" and thus they have to provide said goods. We'll see!

      • Thats what I would have thought but this is what their T&C's say

"Placement of an order by you constitutes an offer to enter into an agreement with us ("your offer"). We will email you an Order Confirmation for the sole purpose of confirming the details of your offer. Please note that our Order Confirmation does not constitute an acceptance of your offer or reflect the status of your order in any way.

We reserve the right not to provide goods or services, terminate membership accounts, remove or edit content or cancel orders (or part thereof) at our sole discretion at any time. Without limiting the operation of any other Terms and Conditions herein, we will not be held liable for loss or damage arising from the exercising of these rights."

        • +1

Yes, I can imagine they'd try and put those terms in there. But, they can't override the law with any T&C they might want to impose. Again, not a lawyer but that's what I gathered from the Dell fiasco from long ago - that deal saw no money being accepted by Dell, but they've charged my PayPal.

          We'll certainly see soon enough.

    • +1

www.bigwentertainment.com.au isn't run by Big W - its outsourced to another one-stop entertainment distributor (www.chaosmusic.com.au is by the same mob, so is play4me.com.au).

Reckon you'd have better luck getting away with mistakes in pricing if ordered through this site, as they process many orders from different sites (and all with different pricing) - I know I've 'abused' their wholesale B2B website before and gotten away with it ;)

  • Good luck getting it at that price ins tore … you might get the "online only" line that I've got before when trying to get them to match a price of theirs online.

  • Just ordered one online $17 is still cheap!

  • Is BigW open tomorrow?

  • I hope to god they honour this.

  • +5

    Iron Man 2 on Blu-Ray for $12!
It comes with a DVD copy for those who don't have a blu-ray player.

    • +1

Your comment sealed the deal for me. Ordered BTTF and Iron Man 2 for $30.50 delivered!

      • +1

I did exactly the same. Hopefully it arrives soon, they say 1-2 days delivery time in Victoria.

  • +1

    inglorious basterds for $12 too

    • Actually part of the $12 sale.

  • Would be so much easier on that site if you could search by price!

    • +2

You can, in a fashion. Click on left menu "Blu-ray" then "Blu-ray DVD". Then select Sort by "Price Low to High".

You can also select a price range from the drop box below the sort by field.

      eg http://www.bigwentertainment.com.au/browse/7444.html?sort=5&…

      • thanks for that, I just looked at the first screen!!! should play around more next time!

  • +2

So many positives for a pricing error

  • yeah I paid $15.30 via cc went for the cheaper postage hehe. someone said further up that they paid via paypal which I would have preferred but I didn't see that option at checkout.

  • just wondering, is this the current special edition version? or is there another blu-ray version going around?
as there are two versions listed on the site, hence why some ppl are finding the more expensive price?
    can anyone confirm this?
