The resolution is not good. Looks like the price is not as good as Amazon (I remember Amazon is less than $150 AUD).

  • +4

    Resolution looks terrible.

  • +1

IMHO, Lenovo P8 (Tab3 8 Plus) is a better buy even though the screen is only 8" and it's Android 6.0: higher resolution, better CPU, better GPU, better WiFi, 3GB RAM, and cheaper.

Only downer is you have to get it from overseas.

  • do not buy 1280 x 800 resolution for a 10 inch screen, horrible.

I have an old samsung 7 or 8 inch tablet for that resolution, unacceptable.

    • +1

Agree, but most people still get by with 15.6" laptops with 1366 x 768 resolution which is actually a lot worse than 1280 x 800 on a 10" screen.

  • +1

I don’t mind this kind of resolution on a 5 inch budget phone, but this is a 10 inch tablet. I get that you can’t expect much for $249. Though this seems worse than older tablets I have that I picked up for a lower price. The only thing this has going for is it’s on Nougat, but that still puts it one version behind. 16gb of internal storage is on the low side, that SoC doesn’t seem very powerful either, and 2gb of ram doesn’t really cut it now. I don’t see much of a bargain here.

    • I remember paying an extra 50 for the tab 3 business with a full hd screen. It's good but I've had to open it a few times because the ribbon cable for the display sometimes comes loose.

    Opinion…
Sick of seeing tablets like this.
These are just your typical cookie cutter cheap crap tablet.
Tablets like this are they reason the popularity of tablets are in decline.

What it is vs what it should be…

Processor Qualcomm® 1.4GHz quad-code processor, MSM8917 —— Snapdragon 6 series at the minimum thanks, i don't want this thing to be a useless slug in 3 months
Operating System Android™ 7.0 Nougat —— 8.0 or 8.1 thanks, OK if up gradable to 8.1
    Display 10.1" HD (1280 x 800), IPS, multi-touch screen supports 10-finger gesture —— 1080p minimum, non negotiable, c'mon even phones are 1440p now.
Graphics Qualcomm Andero™ 308 in processor —— pissy little 308 in a device this big? 6
Memory 2GB / LPDDR3, soldered to systemboard —— Might be passable for a low to middle of the range unit
Webcam Front: 2 MP, fixed focus —— yeah, whatever was cheapest at the shenzen market, c'mon at least try guys
Rear: 5 MP, auto focus —— as above
Storage 16GB eMMC flash memory on board —— is my watch fast or is it still 2012?
Storage extension Up to 128GB microSD —— should be mandatory
Battery 4850 mAh, Li-Ion Polymer 1-cell —— little on the small side
AC adaptor 5.2V/2A —— better be usb C, else die
Sensors G-Sensor —— helps find the G spot
Fingerprint reader None —— Why even mention it then ?
Audio support Dual speaker / single microphone, Dolby Atmos® audio / combo audio / microphone jack —— the jack shall never die
Ethernet None —— again, why mention it?
Wireless LAN WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, with Bluetooth 4.0 —— no AC? again… is it 2012?
    Wireless WAN None —— …..
GPS Yes, supports GPS —— does it support a GPS or does it have a GPS?
    NFC None —— ….
    Media reader None —— ??
Ports 1 x Micro USB 2.0 (for power charge and data synchronisation) —— DIE
1 x microSD slot —— didn't we already do this?
    1 x Combo audio / mic jack —— and this ?
Preload softwar SHAREit, SYNCit —— should be nothing preloaded but the google play store.

Interested in a Tablet, but nothing available that's worth buying.
They're all too expensive, too bloated, too old, not nuf storage / ram / SoC.
Someone would do well to to release a unit with specs matching a middle of the range mobile.
1080p, Snapdragon 6 series, 32GB, 3+GB RAM 5amp battery, USB C, good front facing speakers, good value cameras (not junk, not too fancy) with AC wireless running a light weight current stock Android OS.
    win.

You are better buying this model.

    https://www.binglee.com.au/lenovo-tab-4-10-plus-za2m0036au?u…

The plus model has been under $300 quite often on sale.

The plus model has a reasonable screen, decent speakers, fingerprint scanner, reasonable cameras for a cheaper tablet, snapdragon 625 and 3gb of ram.

    • Thanks for the tip.

I desperately needed a cheap tablet as soon as possible.

I price matched the Lenovo plus model at officeworks for about $284.

      • I'm glad I could help and that's a good price for that model. I hope you enjoy. :)
