How is this going to work? Will the DJ's gift card be printed on the receipt?

  • Can i buy a wish gift card (5% discount), and use that to buy a visa gift card in store?

    • Yes.

      • +1

        Thanks!

      • Is this tested with the new self checkout software? I noticed a new system/GUI at my local the other week.

        • The new system at check out wont do GC anymore, unless the staff help you. Just go to normal check out, and ask to pay by GC, they wont ask you any questions, much better than using self check out.

        • @kendo: Tried to buy Woolies Wish gift card with eGift card at normal checkout over the Easter Break and purchase was rejected by the computer until gift cards were removed. Checked at front desk and was told that a recent system upgrade now stops gift card purchases using eGift cards. :-(

Would like to know if this includes Visa cards?

        • @argonbay: It includes mobile phone starter packs.

        • @argonbay:

Can anyone else confirm this? I have $1000 in egift cards and wanted to change to Woolies gift cards in Woolies but when I tried the other day it declined. Can I get a refund and what else are my options otherwise?

        • +3

@argonbay: no, you cant use WW egiftcard to buy any Woolies Giftcard including WW Wish GC, BigW or Woolworth Petrol.

But WW egiftcard will work for all other GC such as Visa Card, JB or DJ card

        • +1

@kendo: Cheers Kendo. Picked up a $100 Visa card today and paid with eGift card.

        • @kendo: Help, I went to Town Hall, crows nest, lane cove store. They are all out. Am I going to be stuck with 1059 worth of we GC. Crying here….

        • @YANNI930: you can check with staff to see if they have any more in stock not yet put out. Ask at the help counter.

    • Would like to know this also!

      • Yes you can. No problem at all

        • Next question would be can you use the visa to purchase another 5% off WW gift card

        • @Chthonic: probably more interested in knowing if there is a max redemption of gift cards in each transaction.

        • @Chthonic: yeah through cashrewards $105.27

        • @Chthonic: what is the point if you use Visa Card to purchase WW GC? I am just curious.

I think if you purchase 5% off WW GC via Cashreward, you should have no problem when making payment by using your Visa Card. I use Visa Card a lot to pay wherever dont accept Amex, even online or in store and have not had any problems, as long as they accept payment by Visa.

        • +5

          @kendo:

          1. Buy a $105.95 WW GC through CR for $100.65.25
          2. Buy a Visa card and get a $10 DJ voucher
          3. Use the $100 visa to buy a discounted $105.27 WW GC through CR
          4. Repeat repeat repeat, can max up to the $100 DJ (10 per household) with it only costing like $2 or something
        • +3

          @Chthonic:
Yeah you can theoretically do that. Just depends if you have enough time and ww GC purchase is not instant.

        • @cwongtech: Within 3 hours with CR usually

        • +1

@Chthonic: I think @kendo means Visa Prepaid can be used at stores where WW gift card can't.

        • @Chthonic:

The only holdup I can see with this is waiting for WW to issue the WISH eGift card. Normally takes about an hour for me, so it will take some time to reach the 10 DJs card limit. Apart from that, I can't see problems with your method above. It's annoying having to cover the gift card fee of $5.95 each time, but it seems like a good way to mine DJs money.

          Edit: I type too slow.

        • +1

@Chthonic: I dont see any problem at all.

        • @Chthonic:

          This seems wrong to me…

Don't you buy a $100 Woolworths GC though CR for $95?

        • @Mr Jeep: there’s a fee of $5.95 for the Visa card.

        • @wxyz234:

Yes understand that…. Chthonic said "Buy a $105.95 WW GC through CR for $100.65.25"

That is wrong, as you buy a WW GC through CR for $95.

        • @Chthonic: love your dedication and your true ozb spirit!

        • +4

@Mr Jeep: I think you need $105.95 of credit on your WISH eGift card in order to cover the purchase of the $100 VISA card.

        • +1

          @Big Dog:

Ahh yes, makes sense now… didn't realise you could purchase oddball values on CR.

        • +1

          @Chthonic:

Is the total cost going to be $6.53 to get to $100 worth of DJs cards as each transaction will ultimately cost $0.653?

        • @Mr Jeep: not sure you can but you’d need to purchase at least that much.

        • @Chthonic:
Maths is not my strength but
Is this any different to buying 10x $100 visa one cards. Getting 10*$10 dj.

And then having $1000 worth of visa cards left over to use later

        • +1

@hellohello123: The difference is that you only need $100.65 initial deposit(plus $5+ later) instead of $1000+.

        • @Bad Wolf: $105.27 wont go through.It has to be $105.26.

        • @Neoika:
not a big deal if I Cant
but buying Wish gift cards using these visa1 cards,
you have to pay it off in one lot so you cant buy multiple at the asme time can you?

eg you got order 1 wish gift card at a time at cashrewards ???

        • @hellohello123: Sorry,I do have an answer for that.I think ordering one by one is safer.

        • @Neoika:
I wanst referring to safety or anything,
I just tried using one of only1s to try and buy a cr wish card,
but you cant split the transaction can you, ie it wants to charge the full amount to the card

        • +1

@hellohello123: You can split pay for GC in Woolies.

        • @Neoika:
thanks for the reply, im actually trying to buy more egfit card via CR using the only 1 visas,
I just dont want to end up with too many visa cards

          hope im making sense

        • @Chthonic:

I know you have good intentions with that, but your strategy isnt going to work that smoothly

when you buy wishgift cards via CR, you can split paymetns, so that means when you use your only1 card, you can only buy another $100 egift card, then when you go and buy another only1 from super market, you are going to have to use another card or form of payment to get to the $105.95 total,

it will work but you will be using 2 x egift cards to buy, plus you have to wait a few hours or more between each transaction, so it will be very time consuming

and the $10 DJ cards, are not per household but per IP, which most people can get around

        • +1

          @Big Dog:
DJs money is easier to mine than Bitcoins :)

        • @hellohello123: Quick way:use another reward program like Suncorp to save eGC turnaround time.Buy $100+$5 eGC and get them instantly, but it will leave 25cents on VISA card(or just buy $100 eGC and leave $5 on VISA card).

        • @Big Dog:

Does CR process payment outside business hours?

        • @nightelves: It's actually Woolworths who process the payment. Sometimes their systems choose random orders to manually check and when that happens, the Payments Team do view them individually. Rough guess is that they do work extended hours, but perhaps not say from 12am to 8am?

      • +1

Is there anyone try to buy DJ GC by using DJ GC?

Like i want to buy $100 DJGC by using 10 $10DJGC for payment?

I can do it with JB GC but have not tried with DJ yet. Thank you

        • +2

You can buy a DJs gift card with a DJs gift card

        • @kerfuffle: Thanks!

        • @kendo: Can someone please confirm: I'm guessing the discussion here is around buying a $100 physical DJ gift card using ten $10 DJ egiftcards from this offer? Is this from the DJ website, or in store? Thanks.

        • +2

@cookie-monster: In store only as you can only use a maximum of five DJs gift cards on DJs Online.

        • @kerfuffle:

Am I allowed to use 10 DJ card to buy dj cards at store and then use them online please?

        • @jiaqi518: There's no maximum on the amount of DJs Gift Cards that can be used in store

        • @kerfuffle:

when I got 1010 egiftcard, I can use then to buy 1100 dj card in store.

And then can I please use this 1*100 card online when there is a lego sale?

        • @jiaqi518: Read my comment above.

  • Hmmmm doesn't say the usual 10 cards Max per customer

  • Once you have the $100 visa cards is it possible to withdraw it as cash or load it onto another type of card?

    • No

    • You could PayPal yourself with a fee

      • I've never done this before, can you help explain how you do this?

      • +1

How much fee did you pay? Best I get was $1.50 per $100 card

  • The real question is…

Can you redeem more than 10 DJ's card at a time online?

    • +2

You can redeem a maximum of 5 in one transaction online according to the T&Cs (4.2)

      • That kind of sucks then!! Wish you could do at least the 10

        • +3

You can use as many as you want in store :) Also better because you can price match + use the vouchers.

        • @doweyy:

Ahhh, I like to use David Jones Online via Qantas to get the 5 points per dollar…

        • @Mr Jeep: Not valid when using a gift card as a payment method according to the Qantas Mall terms.

(although Cashrewards still pay out. Go figure)

        • @jasonb:

Really? Never seen that term and conditions and never had any issues previously!

        • @Mr Jeep: Hey, if it works don't complain!

    • Maybe if you submit 10 card numbers at one time, you received one $100 eGC as a whole.

Edit:You can claim a bonus eGift card for each Only 1 Visa gift card that you purchased up to a maximum of 10 bonus claims.

  • Just wonder what method they use to verify you as a unique customer? Email? Phone? or Rewards card?

    • We have to wait!

    • +1

Rewards card I believe, 10 per rewards card.

    • +1

      Email and/or IP I believe.

  • So buy $500 Visa card and get $50 dj card + $5.95 fee?

    • +2

      $5.95 fee each Visa card.

  • +2

Why are people caring so much about saving $4.05?

    • That my pal is not quick math!

    • $4.05 is the amount u would save if u didn't use ww egiftcards at 5% discount.

      Secondly, it's repeatable $$$

      • Ok, so you are saving $9? An how long does it take for all this to occur? Hours?

        • Goto shop, buy 10 giftcards and register them all. Took me no more than 30mins tops (local woolies is close to me)

        • @SmiTTy: hey do you know if buying the only1 visa birthday gift card is the valid in this deal?

        • @imissbeans:

          I think so.
I bought the "Congratulations" one and it worked … they didnt have the "standard" and the terms isnt clear - but it should since my "congratulations" one worked

        • @SmiTTy: that's great to know! Thanks mate

        • @SmiTTy:

Did you buy them all in one transaction and did you use your EDR card?

        • @Chthonic:

I bought 5 in one transaction . I had enough ewish giftcards to purchase 5 (incl the transaction fee)

I didnt use EDR … dont really see the point of it, i dont think you accrue points for giftcards? (i could be wrong)

I think the way they track redemptions is via email.

        • @SmiTTy:

Thanks, that's all I needed to know (that they don't track it somehow with EDR).

  • Ugh, no stock today at my local Woolies. They never have the $100 prepaid CC on the shelves for the duration of the special. Sometimes they'll appear in the following week when the special is over.

    • Starts Wednesday, hopefully stock is on it's way.

  • Just bought 1 and tried to register online but it says not valid at participating store. Wowfail with their promotion.

    • Same here

    • Could it be you need to wait a period before registering? Eg 1 hr.. Sometimes they say need to wait a while before card is valid to use (up to 24 hrs)

Edit: I take that back. Just bought one and literally signed up straight away and got my $10

    • del

  • anyone going full on with this deal, ill be trying to do it later this afternoon with all my EDR cards

    • +1

Any reason to think the 10 card max. is linked to EDR cards?

My suspicion is it's going to be like the Perfect Card/$10 Rebel gift card deal from last year, where the 10 card max. was regulated by IP addresses (possibly email addresses too) when redeeming, not EDR cards when purchasing.

      • imho, i think it relates to redemption via email

        • +4

IP only. Says IP limit exceeded.
Just went to flight mode and back with new ip. Same email address seems to have no impact.

        • @googoogaga:

wow , thats good to know… thank u
