    Thanks OP.
    A hand-wound vintage for <$350 is astonishing.

  • +1

To illustrate how particularly good this price is, here is a vendor currently offering it for US$1,095!

    • +1

Wow it sounds like a real deal! I almost wish I was on the market for a new watch :)

      • +6

By the power vested in me it is my solemn duty to hereby absolve you of all blame and any residual guilt concerning the essential acquisition of this premium vintage horological masterpiece.

That should cover it. Come back with a photo of you wearing it. Pay hamza23 the absolution fee within 7 days.

      • +11

If you're reading OzBargain, then by definition you are in the market for a new watch

        • +2

          Amen.

    • I've just realised it is the same vendor. Here is another previously selling it for US$786.

      • +8

Why compare it to prices that no one actually pays? The camelcamelcamel page you linked shows the recent price to be in the US$270-280 range. This is essentially a US$20(8%) discount which no one who isn't already looking at the watch will care about. This isn't some popular consistently priced item where 8-10% off the lowest street price is a decent saving, it's a niche luxury item that no one has on their wishlist.

I expect this discount inflation from resellers, not ozbargain. Seems like it's common with watch posts here though. Dress up a $10-30 discount as if it's 50% off or something amazing.

        • +5

i agree, too much watch posts with 70% discount by quoting "RRP" prices from crazy sellers that made ppl thinking it was a bargain but not really.

        • +1

I expect this discount inflation from resellers, not ozbargain. Seems like it's common with watch posts here though.

I'm happy for you to look at my past watch posts and link me to this issue.

        • @phunkydude: Unless there's a retail monopoly, never look at RRP with luxury items unless it's limited edition.

        • OK, you tell me how much they are charging on their own website for this watch.

  • +3

Good looking hand-winder and a lot for the price.

  • Handwinders, are these mainly for the collection boxes? Do people still wear and wind them everyday?

    • +3

Can't speak for others, but I certainly do.

      • +2

Yep. I personally cant understand it. I'm ok with 48hr automatics and insist that any watch I buy has handwinding but I cant accept having to manually wind a watch every day.

But then I kind of want to buy a Speedmaster.

        • +1

mmmmm, speedy! I'm too worried about breaking crowns, stems and threading since they're so fragile.

      • Same here. Love it, it's bonding time

  • +2

I read hand wound as hand injury (infantry reference contributed) and wondered why anybody would want one. ☺

    • +1

I think if you put a $1000 price on a hand injury and advertised it in ebay someone would buy it

      • I'm sure it would be a popular "present". :)

        • uh ooh, we're entering the realm of hired thugs.

        • @poohduck: I didn't read that. ;)

  • +4

This is on sale too it seems ~$300USD
    https://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Swiss-241375-Infantry-Vint…

Automatic and lowest its ever been according to camel…. ebay still selling for $700ish USD

    • +4

      Thanks added to the description.

    • +4

Nice. I like watches that show the unabbreviated day.

  • +1

    This is soooooooooo nice OMG

Found a close-up shot here. Couldn't find lume shot.

  • Nothing says you've made it like a Victorinox Swiss Army watch.

    • +5

Hi Chateau, how are you? Hope you are well.

      • I'm well, thanks. Hope you're well, too. Good to see you're still spreading the spectacular.

        • +1

Thanks for your kind words. I'm wearing my Naviforce 9044 today, I've been wearing it a lot lately. It's such a cool watch for around $10.00 shipped
Did you get one, I noticed that you upvoted it when TA recently posted it?

        • +1

@WatchNerd: You noticed, did you? You know what they say in Hollywood? You haven't made it until you've got a stalker.

        • +1

@Chateau: He is commenting about watches and his deal is a watch. Apparently you don't comprehend what stalking is, sweetpea.

        • @PJC: Hmmm, I've got two stalkers. I'm Hollywood royalty.

        • +2

@Chateau: We come here for bargains.

        • +2

          @Chateau: " Hollywood royalty"
You say that like it is a good thing…

    • +2

And nothing says you’ve given up like a French army knife

      • Let's not mention the war. The French are lovers, not fighters.

    • +1

That's right. Don't forget to upvote.

    • +4

You may recall voting is available near the top of the page just below OP's avatar.

      • -5

Begging for votes again, PJC? Didn't we have a discussion about validation? It's unbecoming, don't do it.

        • +4

You can neg if you wish. I don't have a horse in this race. I assumed you might get off the fence.

        • -8

@PJC: Nice use of mixed metaphors, PJC. I'm just here for the laughs, not for the up-votes or down-votes. Don't you have a 100 watch post you need to work on? I'd hate to think I'm disrupting your job.

      • I would agree with Chateau, PJC. Dont think Ozbargainers need everyday reminder on how to ready post and vote it.

    • +3

Should we buy one of these instead? Somebody called it a 'throwaway' watch, long after WatchNerd and I and 21 other Members plus-voted.

      • -8

Buy it if you like, PJC. It's a junk throw away watch, as I said to you in a previous conversation. Watchnerd got pretty excited about the price. I didn't post it for up-vote or down-votes. It's a good cheap watch for tradies, so probably not suitable for someone who sits at home making 100 watch posts for Ozbargain.

        • +3

It's a junk throw away watch, … as I said to you in previous conversation.

Please remind us where it says that in your description for G-Shock Classic Solar Power Digital Black Resin G5600E-1 - $84.55 Delivered @ Starbuy eBay I need to learn, having posted 50 G-SHOCK bargains since then.

        • +2

@Chateau: But I won't find it in your description. You did not inform "it's a junk throwaway watch" to your fellow Members who purchased one. Have I got that right?

        • -4

@PJC: You're correct. I thought the price would signal that it was a junk throw-away watch. My bad. Be sure to tell folks that the cheap junk watches you post are throw away watches. It's the right thing to do, I see that now.

        • +2

@Chateau: No, price does not signal that, but adequate description certainly can inform your fellow OzBargain Members. G-SHOCK watches are amongst the very toughest available and some owners have had theirs for 20 years.

        • -3

@PJC: I had one for 6 months before I smashed the screen on a roofing job, PJC. I'm sure it would have lasted 1000 years if I just sat at home posting bargains. Not sure that's the mark of a quality watch, though.

        • +2

@Chateau: I sincerely hope those Members you did not inform it is a 'junk throw away watch' have better luck with their purchases. They went to your deal seeking bargains.

        • -4

@PJC: I do feel badly for them, mate. But I'm sure my regret doesn't come close yours after the hundreds of garbage watches you've posted without informing them. We live and learn, PJC.

        • +5

          @Chateau:
Nothing says you've made it like a smashing a cheap G-Shock watch on a roofing job.

        • -1

@zeomega: Thanks, mate. Being able to say you smashed a G-Shock on a roof is a rare thing. It's an elite club, you might say.

        • +9

@Chateau: Chateau you've come to this post and have had nothing positive or of value to say, only negative.
Please be civil or leave, if there is a problem with the deal please use the report button.

        • -1

@Wystri Warrick: I've been served. Sorry, boss. But before I start being strictly positive [or leaving] let me just say that being negative can be a positive sometimes. STD screening is a good example that comes to mind.

        • +2

@Chateau: Sounds like you've had a rough week mate.

        • +2

@Chateau: It can be positive, of value or anything you want, but please do not come here with negative comments that have no value, no other purpose but as personal attacks.

        • -3

@footyboy: True, and it's not over yet. I only rest when Jesus rests. He rests on Sundays.

        • +2

@footyboy: yeah, seems like that, he mentioned that he has been drinking.

        • -1

@Wystri Warrick: These are mean streets, Mr Warrick. Life isn't all hugs and skittles and blowing smoke up each others egos. Thanks for the valuable tips, though. I really appreciate your concern and the time you've taken to help me be a better man, it's touching.

        • +3

          @Chateau:

          These are mean streets …

Not so … it really is a deal for a Victorinox Infantry Vintage Mechanical watch, and nobody has found a lower price. We come here for bargains.

        • Chateau, there is no need to be rude. Let's please be respectful in the comments.

        • -4

          @neil: Which bit was rude?

        • +2

@Chateau: Jesus rested on the Jewish sabbath, not Sundays.

        • +1

Yes please, more. That was a great read.

        • +2
        • -3

@xev: PJC flanked by his crew. You're first on the left. Oh no, inflammatory! https://imgur.com/a/ekTbM

@Chateau: We come here for bargains.

        • -2

@PJC: Enough of the 'we', PJC. You're here strictly for the upvotes.

        • +1

          @Chateau: I didn't post this deal.

        • +1

@Chateau: We are here for bargains, what are you here for?

  • Had no idea you could buy watches that required winding! For my newbie knowledge, am I correct 48.5 hour reserve essentially means you wind it every 2 days?

    • +4

      Every 2 days and 30minutes

    • -5

Wrong. Every 2 days and 30 minutes. Do you even math, bro?

      • +6

        Yes, I math’ bro,
        But I can’t add tho’
        Unlike the OzB Math pro,
        But what does that show?
        Unlike Chateau
        I wouldn’t stoop that low,

        • +4

          I approve of this comment.

    • Only if you don't wear it after it is fully wound. Since it is automatic, if you keep wearing it, it will keep charging.

      • The first watch in the title is mechanical, which means it only works by hand winding.

The second watch is automatic. It's all there in the title & description.

  • +1

For $50 USD more you can get a classic 3 hander with day and SS bracelet:

    • Already mentioned above, but nice find!

  • Cool! the last time I saw hand wind watches…my friends old Rolex and my Dad's 1960s Jaeger (which he is giving to me) :-)
    ….

  • +1

Wow let’s stay with those INVICTA watches guys, this watch is over priced.

INVICTA more styles all the way

    • Lol

  • +4

Good deal. I'm glad there are people like OP.

    • +4

Remember to plus-vote this deal to stop the goblins sticking hot pins into their WatchNerd doll while chanting DRENHCTAW.

  • +2

Wow, the watch subculture on OzBargain is pretty snarky. Just saying.

  • +1

    I bought one. It's beautiful.

    • Well done.
