During peak usage times are between 7-11pm (inclusive), seven days per week you will experience speeds below the theoretical maximum connection speed available. Further, you will likely also experience lower speeds than the theoretical maximum connection speed during off peak usage times. Please refer to our Speed Guide page available at: https://goo.gl/tcbDrN for more information on speed.

AKA - You probs won't get the speed you pay for during peak times.

      ..or off peak times.

Might work ok for a while, until they inevitably over subscribe their bandwidth allocation…

Do note, Kogan is reselling Vodafone NBN, similar to how they're reselling insurance.

The Products are available through the NBN Service (defined below in Section 2) and are provided by Vodafone Hutchinson Australia Pty Ltd as supplied by NBN Co Limited (“NBN”).

honestly it's better this way. I'd rather Voda pick up the pieces if Kogan fails, like what happened when the first iteration of Kogan Mobile went under.

    • They also announced plans to resell sneakers

Thanks for the recipe! Will use it for dinner tonight.

Vodafone NBN is one of the most poor experiences I've had in ages - bad speeds, horrid support, and nearly two week setup time.

Since Kogan resell Vodafone's mobile service, they're probably reselling Vodafone/TPG NBN too.

Getting out of the contract involved being on the phone for nearly an hour and a half with an Indian 'retention manager' who didn't know what simple terms like 'backhaul' meant.

The site documentation also has the wrong phone number and I spent 30mins finding the correct number to call over their sh1tty faulty modem that barely works when it's on. Replacement didn't have the 4G modem working, so I had no internet for two days as a result.

I then wasn't sent a return satchel for the second modem and they then proceeded to charge me $400 because I hadn't returned the modem in time.

    Avoid, avoid, avoid.

You mention Indian as if it's a disease!!!

in my experience customer support is shit doesn't matter if it's local or international.

      • +2

I've had decent support from iiNet when they used to be actually good and not just TPG.

Even if it's local you still probably get better voice quality since it's not going to the subcontinent.

Nothing against Indians btw, just one of the most annoying support experiences I've had in ages.

Would edit it, but the edit button's disappeared.

      • Generally I have to agree with you but as far as internet goes I have personally found Aussie Broadband's local support excellent!

      • I agree, often times I find Indian based call centres synonymous with quality.

    • Vodafone NBN is one of the most poor experiences I've had in ages - bad speeds, horrid support, and nearly two week setup time.

My speeds were okay in Melbourne (FTTP) peak and non-peak, but it would have issues with sustained connections which was ultimately why I left. Totally agree with your comment on support, they had me going around in circles before I finally got someone who was able to help.

I tweeted at them and cancelled over email, a MUCH less painful way to cancel with VF.

Back to the Kogan's NBN service, Kogan will give you an Archer VR500v. At least it's month to month so you can switch out if you find the service sucks.

    • Yes Kogan is reselling Vodafone NBN.

  • Evoucher and referral credit?

  • Kogan NBN is indeed provided by Vodafone.

It's in section 1 of the plan details.

Is this delivered from Hong Kong too?

      Kazakhstan. Very nice.

  • Fair use policy? No thanks.

I don't think you'll find an ISP which doesn't have a Fair Use Policy.

        (n) using the Service to disguise the origin of a use or communication; (

So I take it the use of a VPN is against T&C There's fair use, and there's insane restrictions.

Give it a read.. BIG LOL.

        • Yeah that would be silly not to be able to use a VPN.

    • +1

There should be Fair “ Provide “ Policy. In this era , pricing should be dynamic and linked with speed they provide.

Why should customer need to pay 100% of price to get less than 100% of service.

Best to go with Telecube for slightly more !

    • Not sure about them either.

I've been calling Accounting and Sales for the past week, almost daily, several times a day. Never have I got someone to pick up the phone. I also sent 3 emails, no reply, ever.

    • Best to go with Exetel for the same or less for 500GB.

Don't believe the haters, Exetel is OK.

      More for regionals though.

  • Do they use CGNAT?

  • Vodafail 2.0

BUMPING for any additional feedback, preferably from those who have taken up the offer.

I've never had Vodafone problems via Kogan on mobile as they seem to resolve it themselves… but i've read some nightmare reviews on Vodafone NBN. Will it (or highly likely) carry over to Kogan?

Am on FTTP and won't be a heavy user, but there aren't many 25/5 plans anymore or anything in that price range.. recently only been activated but am needing something ASAP in light of my BuzzTelco gambit earlier in the year which has now bit me on the arse.

  • I have taken on the offer and so far, it has been a nightmare. Nothing against Indians but every time I've called, they have had a hard time getting my name right. For some reason, I keep saying C but they keep thinking S. And they seem confused with the other letters as well. Although to be fair, I think it might be the same person picking up the phone all the time … anyway takes me a good 5 mins to get my name across and then they keep telling me they can't verify my identity (but when I did it online, it went through fine so I think they still misspell my name when they do the identity check!). Anyway, it's been a week and no modem has arrived and apparently, someone is coming this week to my building but I still haven't heard anything about it. And because they can't verify me on the phone, I can get no update. Not sure whether I should just cancel the whole thing …

    DONT DO KOGAN!!!!
I have been with them for all of 1 week. I am in Perth. Constant drop outs. I watch my modem and the DHCP they give out is for 1 hour. As it comes time to renew, my modem sends the DHCP request, and doesn't get a reply. So no more internet until a reboot and new DHCP request rather then a renew
Also it seems i cant download anything from a webpage. I get speeds of of a couple of Kbps. Have tried from Microsoft updata catalouge and its ridiculous.
Went to a test site, and can download FTP fine but not HTTP. Speedtest and streaming work fine, but cant download from HTTP.
Has a support case open from day 1 and i should be getting a verdict today if they can fix, or refund. You can't email support, they wont email you also so your stuck having to call. Tried logging a TIO complaint against them, and it seems TIO made a mistake or they are not set up properly as i get Kogan mobile calling me advising different company. They dont even have contact details for Kogan internet

    • Thanks man for advice
i was thinking to join them!!
      Good luck with the TIO
      Cheers
      :-)
