  • I must admit, the 5GB on startup makes the deal alot more attractive.

  • I wonder if it only applies to a $30 recharge. I'd rather purchase the $150 recharge for 365 days.

  • Nice discount. Was about to buy one of these for holidays but recently got a smartphone so I'll just tether it. Thanks though :)

  • Argh, it's white!
    Great deal though.

  • Yes just using an existing smart phone as a wifi access point makes most sense, better value by far as most plans and even pre paid include reasonable data allowance. Less gadgets is better, as is having less bills.

  • WOW which smart phone can be an AP? can you recommend which software for desire?

Purchase a Telstra micro sim and use the Ipad data on it, the wifi device uses a regular sim card ,but u can buy an Optus $2 sim and put the Telstra micro sim in the converter. This is what I'm doing at the moment. The Ipad prepaid data plan is $20/1GB,$30/3GB(1momth)…$150/12GB(12months).Don't forget that Telstra has the best internet coverage in Australia, and if u use it this way it is the cheapest.

"Is the cheapest" surely you mean just among telstra prepaid options,as there are data plans to be had at a better bargain than that,

    • Doesn't Telstra monitor what device the iPad micro sim is used in?

  • can get exactly the same deal at Australia Post at the moment

    • um, this is the deal from AusPost…

  • can also get the telstra elite - zte 668 usb modem for the same deal ($99 with $30 recharge) from AP too

  • Target have usb modem for $39 (normally $79) with a $40 recharge voucher, 2 GB included.

  • Pricematched this at Officeworks without the requirement of $30 recharge. $94.05
