Tell em they're dreaming if you don't think they'll get it at that price. For heaven's sake don't argue a person's right to put a value on something and make an offer. If we can't say "No, thanks" without taking the offer as a personal affront we've got a bunch of growing up to do…
To all the people deriding the offers being made: ease up! Of course if you break the package up and sell it on ebay you could probably turn a profit. Conversely (and I think this is the spirit of this community) if two ozbargainers band together so that one gets a cheaper ps3 and the other a cheaper tv, who’s missing out? Arguing over who gets the better deal is like whipping out the calculator after dining with your mates.

Fair enough, but here's what I find fascinating Crownie:
Others are talking about breaking the package up and recouping $500 on ebay for the tv/bluray/hdmi. If they do then they get a PS3 for $200, somebody else gets the tv for $500 ($100 cheaper than RRP, if info here is correct). How is that scenario any different, except that the person paying $500 for the tv is not on this forum?
It's all a question of perspective. Think about it.
The movies and HDMI aren't worth much IMHO, certainly not $100. So the PS3 costs more than $200….. given the HDMI can be had for $10 or less, and the movies are worth maybe $30, you're still paying $260 for the PS3.
Ordered mine within 10min of seeing the post :) i saw someone got this price for this same package a week or too ago when it was 997 and i said i would have bought that if i could, and now its here :D gonna try sell the TV and bluerays for around $500 here in melbourne hopefully. Just wanted a cheap PS3 :D:D

Just went into Big W Geelong who said the bundle was $997, with the $797 deal being "online only". I asked for the manager and pushed a little then got it for $797 anyway. This is a great deal no matter how you look at it! Anyone pissing on it probably just recently bought with regret.

I along with 3 others managed to pick it up for $797 in-store from Box Hill Big W just before closing.
There was a bit of confusion initially before they found the right box. Then when it scanned at $997 there was more hesitation. Wasn't helped when some douche said they were sold out online.
But eventually they tried to call the store manager who wasn't around, and so they just did it at $797. It's a big package box that just fit into the back seat of my sedan.
Hmm don't like my luck trying early tomorrow then. No doubt a proper manager would be on.

Same thing happened to me(Geelong Westfield), I called for the manager when the sales assistant wouldn't give the bundle to me for $797. I'm pretty firm in that kind of situation though… the Manager knew I wasn't leaving without a battle so gave it to me cheap. In general, being assertive draws success.
Or the manager had a long day and the last thing he wants is some guy giving him crap for a whole hour to get a good deal ;)

$797… I whipped out my iPhone and brought up the online deal price. She was actually pretty decent(looks wise). ;-)

so all this confusion stemmed from you misreading the price.
your logic is reasonable, except the part that you're dealing with human sellers, not a lottery machine. if you're ok with peeving 200 people before getting that one super deal, think about the people who arent ok with it.
