Awesome, thanks for the heads up!

    • Haha, you can now use this offer!

      • +1

It's going to be so good!

        • Hear hear!

  • Sounds suspiciously Sydney only going by the 'dine in a new light' spiel (Vivid's coming up soon; the crowds eugh) but it seems like the entire country can participate going by last year's one

    • Is Vivid Sydney any good? Have always wanted to go but not sure if it's worth the trip.

      • Well I guess it's worth going once just to say you've gone before. If you want to relive NYE crowds in June, come visit on the Queen's Birthday long weekend (better to visit on weeknights where it's less crowded)

There's also music and talks in addition to all the lights if you're into that sort of stuff

      • It is but the number of ppl attending has grown exponentially. On fri/sat nights you can't even get the train to the local train station (circular quay) because it's closed from THAT many ppl. U need to take a train to Wynyard and walk

But otherwise if u dont mind the crowds, yes it's worth checking out

      • Been attending every year since it started. I like the water light fireworks show at Darling Harbour and the projections on Customs House.

Good way to bring in business and tourism during the cold months.

  • great ! wonder why not on iOS app..

  • Can I sync and unsync multiple cards to same dimmi acc?

  • +1

    Thanks forumninja. A great offer.

  • -2

    Cant see the offer?

  • +2

Any way to combine this with 50% off Dimmi offers?

    • From my experience last year, yes.

Only if the restaurant is participating in both the Amex deal and the 50% off deal.

Red Spice QV appears to have 30% and Amex deal.

  • Will it stack with this?

    Edit: what he said ^^^

  • +1

    OnCe per Amex card ?
    Or unlimited uses ?

  • Can we pay using Dimmi too? I have always paid directly using card though booked through Dimmi.

  • Synced my card before but wanted to check if it’s the right card but can’t find where to check it or resync cards, can someone shed some light for me?

    • If you're still looking, click on your profile (top right head icon) and scroll down to the very bottom. Also, I found when I was booking it says "synced with Amex card ending in xxxxx".

  • -2

"Offer valid at participating restaurants only, which are badged as “Amex Spend $50 get $20”

Where do we find this info? I have looked on Dimmi and can see restaurants with "Amex Welcome", but not the above.

    • +2

The offer doesn’t start for another 13 days …

    • Yay, downvoted!

  • Offer starts today. Why am I getting a 404 - Not found error on the Dimmi website for the Amex link?

    • +1

      Not in app offers either.

    • Same…404 error

  • +3

Guys… the link doesn’t work if you click on it.

You’ll have to manually enter the following link:

    https://www.dimmi.com.au/links/amex-offers

Worked for me. Good luck everyone!

    • thanks it worked!

  • do you need to sign up? i thought only need to book then spend.

  • "We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later."

    Is this getting OZB'd?

    • +2

It says: "Explore participating Amex Restaurants from 10:00AM AEST"

Registration might be open after this time.

      • Works now.

EDIT: Nope, can view restaurants but cannot sync card, same error as everyone else.

    • Careful - I was downvoted for asking before the deal went live!

  • +3

We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later.

  • +2

Same error with me "unable to process your request at this time"

  • I unlinked my old card and it kept saying you have already syn your card, but when i check the profile, it doesnt have a button for me to syn my card..!!!!!

    • I have an old Amex in there.

Can't remove it and add a new one as I get an error message

  • +2

Not working "We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later."

  • +1

Great cheap eats when combined with an Entertainment Book venue :)

  • +1

    Hmmm

"Your American Express® Card is already synced. Don't wait, book now! This offer is limited to the first 22,000 bookings before 30 June 2017."

    • Getting the same, I'm pretty sure they have my old AMEX, but when I click 'view synced card' nothing appears.

  • Refreshed in an attempt to try again after getting "We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later." Page refreshed to confirmation card was synced…

  • I've managed to sync my card but when I click Sydney it can't find any spend $50 get $20 restaurants:

"There were no restaurants matching this search Looking for more than Amex spend $50 get $20 restaurants?
View all restaurants in Sydney instead."

  • I am guessing you can only sync one Amex card per account?

  • Is it the first 22,000 to book or use the offer?

I'm in Sydney in June and want to book some restaurants but not sure i'll get the offer if 22,000 people use it before me.

    • Seems to be bookings, however I'm not 100% sure as the Terms and Conditions link gives a 404 error

  • +1

In Victoria, the number of restaurants participating, at least outside of the CBD, is a bit disappointing.

  • Refresh the page worked for me also.

  • Can you use this in conjunction with the entertainment book?

    • +1

yes as long as your end spend is greater than $50 on the amex.

  • So to confirm, the only restaurants that work are the ones that say $50 $20 and not just accepting Amex? I found 2 in Canberra….

  • +1

Is this deal better than the 50% off from Dimmi? Are these two deals stackable? For example, I book in with the restaurant offers 50% off and then spend more than $50, will I still get additional $20 credit back?

    • I'd also like to know this. My assumption is that it will work because it's an Amex statement refund and it is seperate to the restaurant. As long as you spend $50+, you should get $20 back.

  • +2

    I keep getting….

    American Express Unsync failed!

    • I'm having the same issue too. I just spoke with Dimmi. Apparently they're having some IT issues, and they're working to fix the error.

They took my details and will let me know once fixed.

      I'll update once I find out =)

      • Same issue. Got this response:

        Thanks for your email,
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with the Dimmi and American Express Spend and Get Offer.
We are receiving a high volume of enquiries in relation to this and we are currently working with American Express to find a resolution. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
We will contact you with a follow-up email once this has been resolved.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

      • UNSYNC NOW WORKING!! =)

  • I was now just able to sync my card so should be up and running again.

  • +2

Tried to unsync my old AMEX card and getting the same unsync error as above :S

  • Have the same issue with my old NAB Amex. Dimmi is investigating and will advise when it is resolved.

  • Same. I should have updated my card before the offer started…

  • Use offer 1 time only or multiple redemptions toll offer expires in June?

    • +1

multiple use, subject to 25,000 bookings cap.

  • +1

Haven't received any notifications from Dimmi but I just tried to unsync my old Amex card and it finally worked (and I was able to sync the new Amex card straightaway).

  • Dimmi just called and can unsync NAB Amex

  • +2

Extremely poor number of choices for SA this time around :/

  • Found it amusing that two of the participating restaurants in Brisbane don't take bookings with Dimmi!

  • +2

This is great for TGIF together with the 17-18 Ent Book deal with BOGOF (up yours 18-19 Ent Book)!

Last night had 2x Jack Daniels ribs, a pint of 150’s and one extra serve of JD sauce. Discounting the $20 credit and one meal free, total bill came to $31.90.

Last great TGIF meal to go out with a bang!

    • +1

What's wrong with the 18-19 Ent Book?

      • They changed the TGIF to something like 25% off total up to like $30 max.

Some of the other popular items they gave the chop or reduced the discount. Think Chemist Warehouse is something like 10% off egiftcard now too, instead of $10 off $50 spend.

        • +1

Inspired by your post, I went to TGIF tonight and had two mains and a dessert for under $33 :)

  • ref until 25,000 bookings have been allocated. has it been reached yet? how do you know when its reached?

  • Anyone tried combining redemption of dimmi points and this offer? Will it work?

    • +2

Ok gonna answer my own question. Yes it did work just now. Spent $71. Got the $20 redemption. And then the Amex email amother $20 credit.

      • Professional.

  • Looks reached already

    • How can you tell?

    • how do you know?

was going to book for this weekend..

      • I think its certain restaurants. When I click it says this amex offer can no longer be booked (after selecting a time and clicking book now).

After trying a few in the city it still let's me. But anywhere locally it shows the message.

To make sure go through to the page where you click the time and to the next page with the booking details, you'll see the explicit 'amex offer not available, click here to book normally' (its a white page with just that text) otherwise I think good to go

      • Deal limit not yet reached, used it again tonight.

So long as you book through the specific amex/dimmi deal link, system will confirm your booking in the usual way with a booking confirmation email (that doesn't mention the amex promo in any way). Then after you dine and pay with the synced amex card, you'll get an instant email from dimmi saying $20 on it's way (in my experience credit has shown up in my account after 2-3 days).

  • So it's multiple use up to 25k bookings, but is there a way to get the $20 credit back more than once in one booking?

    • No, I think that AmEx restrict it to one offer redemption per booking, so as soon as you pay, the offer is "used up" at that restaurant. Sad because some split payments would be awesome!

    • +2

Make two bookings and sit in one table, pay seperately.

  • Hi, a bit slow on this. So the process is;
    1: save offer to Amex
2: sync Amex card to Dimmi
    3: book via Dimmi
4: pay with Amex card at restaurant
    5: $20 credit from Amex

    Did I miss anything?

      1. Book via Dimmi using the specific amex booking button (you'll see it on the relevant page)

But yes that is the process

      • ok, so after using one card, do i amend the synced card on the account to another card which has the offer too?

        • No need to amend synced card. Original card stays synced, and is used for all subsequent bookings at participating restaurants. Deal can be used at same restaurants more than once

        • @Bitsurfr: Oh really, great. I can redeem the $20 as many times as I want till offer ends.

        • Yes.

  • Will this stack on those x% discounts at venues? EG if a restaurant has a 30% offer, will that circumvent getting the $20 cash back?

    • +2

It LOOKS like it stacks (but I haven't tested this). Eg Accessing Fratelli Fresh Sydney through the Amex list of restaurants shows it has various 50% off set meals via Dimmi. If you go to book those, it locks in the 50% off meal and the description of the Amex $20 cashback is still displayed as part of the booking, so providing your final bill is $50 or more, you SHOULD get the $20 cash bak. Please report back if you try this with success.

No issues with use of any in-house deals or other coupons or entertainment book vouchers etc that are not connected with Dimmi, as these just reduce the final bill for payment, and providing final bill is $50 or more, you'll get the $20 cash back (I and others above have tested this and works fine).

  • Still available for $20 credit; just had dinner and got the $20 credit e-mail

  • +1

As at 9pm Monday 11 June, the Amex deal has sold out.
