For me, the diff between new and old are negligible.

      Yes, can be controlled by Mi Home app. You can also hook it into Home Assistant (requires some technical know how)

          @ccrap: yeh but can only operate Google home on the sg server last I checked and I want to be able to control lights, gateway and google home but need the sg servers for all to work

        You can have 3 functions on the xiaomi switch.
        Single click
        Double click
        Press and hold.

        And yes you need the gateway or bedside lamp(gateway built in)
