Great deal, might want to remove and re upload the photo without your imei number on the receipt though.

    • +2

      Thanks.Done: )

  • +1

You've posted the IMEI of your newly purchased phone. Bad move.

    • for the dummy - what can someone do with the IMEI number?

      • +10

Report it as lost/stolen and be blocked for use in Australia

        • +3

You can't do that. You can only report a phone stolen to your provider and they verify that it is actually your phone.

  • +13

Banana stand from daiso also does the job.

    • +14

There's money in the banana stand, that's for sure.

    • +1

+1 for the daiso banana hammock.

    • Who knew. Plus 1 to you.

    • Wow, that is an awesome tip.

  • +6

Can confirm Albert St Brisbane JB is doing this. Mat is in gaming section, stand behind counter.

    Cheers OP you little ripper!!

    • I got Ash from Games, never heard of a Matt, were you at the Albert street one in the mall near hungry jacks?

      • +2

I think he meant mat, as in the mouse mat? Or is Ash a Pokémon reference?

      • +5

Matt must be a very dedicated employee to always be standing behind the counter…

  • +1

Do you have a link to the Steelseries Headset Stand and mouse pad?

  • +1

Do you need to ask for the headset standor they just give you when you buy the mouse pad.

    • I asked the games section guy, he said they are at the counter so I prompted the counter chick and she seemed to know about it already

    • nah.. I didn't ask. they just gave me when I bought the mouse pad.

  • +3

    you paid $1349 for a s9+?

  • +2

No stock of the stand at the Martin Place JB

    • Dam it! Was heading there now.

  • +2

Congrats on new phone OP. Hope you enjoy it

  • +2

    Is this the one?

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/games-consoles/platforms/gaming-su…

and congrats on your new phone. I feel so jealous that you can just drop $1350+ like its pocket cash :D

  • Just called two JB Hifis near me and they both basically said it was due to a huge surplus they had and they were essentially giving them away with any other Steelseries purchases.

Unfortunately this started a while ago, but if you're lucky, some stores might still have them.

Edit: World Square and Broadway are all out.

    • +1

Not surprised they have a huge surplus. Can't believe they could justify 50 bucks to bend a piece of sheet metal 4 times and coat it black.

  • Are the stands any good? how is it different from a $5 stand from ali express?

    • +8

      ….its free~~

      • +2

That is not answering the question or being helpful at all dude. If he is debating whether he should buy the $17 mousepad, purely to get the headset stand, then he needs to know if it is worth the money.

        • I can't imagine a functional difference from the $5 ones. There's literally nothing special about folded sheet metal and a paint job.

        • @Blitzfx: Yep, was thinking it may have cool flashy RGB lighting, battery operated, controlled by bluetooth via an app for $49?!?!?!

  • +3

    Is this the headphone stand?

    https://d284x0ytlho6sy.cloudfront.net/images/400/AB92676.jpg

Looks like it's just a bit of bent sheet-metal.

  • +3

Just got one from JB Hi-FI at The Galeries.
Staff didnt know about it when I asked, but he said he has a lot of stocks and would give it for free anyway.
Scanned at the register as mix and match

    • So you didn't buy anything else with it?

      • +1

Ah right forgot to mention. I bought the Steelseries Mousepad as well, that's why it is showing as mix and match

    • Still have them at the galeries as of 12:30 today. I saw around 10 of them in a stack behind the counter. Only thing is they've run out of 17$ mousepads (I grabbed the last one :p). Next cheapest is a 23$ mouse pad, slightly bigger.

  • any at hurstville ?

    • -1

yes just confirmed stock at hurstville with my local JB, can you pickup one for me while your there

  • +21

For that price, it's a steel.

  • +5

The Strand JB Hi-Fi has some available but the guy there has told me that they're only free if you buy a headset. Only branch that seems to be saying this.

EDIT: Galleries JB Hi-Fi has some and they're free with ANY SteelSeries purchase.

    • +1

Bought from Gallaries… Headphones stands are at the counter and they give it with any SteelSeries product without asking…Around 20 left…

    • +1

You must have been the 1 guy that asked for it before I got there. Got the same answer, I should have checked JB at the Galleries >_<

      • Yeah, I don't know why he was saying that. Either he's right or he's the one guy who has it wrong.

    • +1

The Strand has 7 left. And plenty of $17 mousepad. They had troubles finding the headset stand. Tip: it’s in the games accessories sections area near the rails

  • My local store told me the headset stand is a freebie with any steelseries product (the mouse pad being the cheapest), it comes up as a mix and match promo

  • Just bought the mouse pad at jb hi-fi sunshine and got a free stand, guy said there were about 10 stands left.

  • Is it worth it? The mouse pad and stand?

    • Mate, it's $17 for a competitive level mouse pad and a free headset stand valued at $49. It's a pretty solid deal.

      • -5

Yeah but I don't really need a mouse pad or a headset stand. Pass

        • Lol ended up getting it. Damn you ozbargain!

  • I've something similar as a headset stand and it's literally unusable as it keeps falling over the moment you touch it.
Is this any better from anyone who has tested it?

    • +1

Hey mate, just picked these ones up. Plopped the QC35 onto them no problems, great build quality, very hefty, I don't think you'll have any troubles with headphones falling over.

    • Very narrow base but it’s heavy so unlikely to topple. There’s 2 holes on the bottom of you want to screw it to a desk

      • +1

        ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • +1

Cheers OP, worked in Albert St Brisbane, she didn’t know of it at first but came up once scanned.

  • +1

Do they have a Bully Hunters edition?

  • -3

    $1300 phone is bargain too?
Just wait till half price mate !!!

    • So what, he bought a phone. The post is about a mousepad and headset stand. I don't think he needs you're opinion on his other purchases. So do us all a favour and shut up

      • So do us all a favour and shut up

        C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!

      • +1

Well, we are on a website about bargains… OP could've edited it out of the image like the IMEI.

    • Nah.I went for https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/375033 which I paid with 6% discounted JB e-gift cards.
My gf will refund GST when she goes oversea in 2 weeks and I am going to claim this purchase from GST+Tax return:)

  • Top ryde has no stands left. Apparently mac centre does tho.

  • No stands in Eastland. Nunawading still has a few left.

People still use mousepads these days. I can't remember the last time I used one. Whats the point? Modern mice are good enough to work on tables directly

    • +3

Anything that requires mouse usage for any length of time or for any sort of precision.

    • +3

Smoother, more responsive and accurate feel. More comfortable for your palm. Doesn't wear out your mouse feet.

    • Mx Performance and Mx Master won't work in my white glossy surface desk… Had to buy a mouse pad :(

    • +1

      helps with friction.

If your table surface is smooth and you feel no resistance, or not enough resistance, you don't need one.

My mouse glides better with one.

    • +1

My chipboard table doesn't track well with my mouse so I use a pad with it.
Last time I had a cheaper mouse and smooth surface table and that really sucked.
The difference was light and day between drawing circles with and without a mousepad. The rounded edges weren't so jagged.

If you game a lot and need pixel-precision, then it's an absolute must.

      • fair enough. I use a $20 mouse so paying $17 for a mouse pad just doesn't seem worth it. I guess if you have a MX series / doing CAD, design etc makes sense

  • I picked one up at Jb Hi-Fi Cranbourne, Victoria. The girl in the counter mentioned that they had heaps in stock.

    • was she hot?

      • go there and find out

      • she is spicy…

        • Indian chick? They're pretty hot

      • +4

        David Attenborough voice:
As we can see here, the male brain is quite a simple one, having only one concern: The features of the female's outer appearance.

        • Well, you know she isn't hot if we're explaining what a nice girl she is.

  • Paid $1300 in gift cards.

  • Picked one up at JB Hi-Fi Pakenham this morning. They said they have a few more stands left.

  • +2

Need to insist. They’ll say to get the stand with the headset but I showed this post and we’re content that other stores were doing the deal. Happy with my mousepad and stand. Thanks OP.

  • My stand scanned up as a 1c item, which got rounded down to 0c, as a mix and match. So perhaps insist that they scan if you get pushback from the JB guys

  • Can confirm purchase at JB McArthur Central in Brisbane. Went in just for the mouse pad (forgot about the free headphone stand!) and they were kind enough to remind me. The headphone stand is free with any Steelseries product according to the staff - can anyone else confirm that?

  • +1

I went to Tasmania ( hobart) jb and asked for this promotion, the staff said only give away when i buy any headset only :( show them the receipt but they said No.

  • Picked mine up at the JB HiFi store in Enex Perth. Scanned the mouse pad and I asked for the head stand which they processed it without any questions. Thanks!
